The property is gorgeous, the staff was exceptional, and the location and cost are great!

The room and the grounds could have been cleaner. The carpet was very dirty and had a faint mildew smell, the AC had a faint mildew smell, the chair and tables around the pool had cobwebs all over them, and there were often small pieces of trash, hoses, brooms, and trash bags left out on the grounds and outside hallways of the property.

The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff are lovely and really helpful. Room was dated but clean and exactly what was portrayed on the photos so it wasn’t a surprise. We didn’t realise a basic breakfast was included and although we mainly ate out it was nice to be able to grab a coffee / juice in the morning if we wanted so that was a bonus. Pool is small but pleasant. They lend you body boards / chairs / towels for the beach. Given how expensive it is to stay on Coronado it’s exceptional value for the location. We paid for 7 nights what 3 at the Del across the road would have cost us.

The bed cover (duvet) might be a British thing but I prefer one that keeps the duvet inside it and isn’t open on all sides.

We found GBI appealing because it is a beautiful historic mansion set in an exceptionally scenic and convenient location overlooking Glorietta Bay. We loved that the Inn was convenient to Coronado YC and within easy walking distance to a whole area of boutiques, restaurants, beaches and other attractions. We enjoyed the refreshing pool and hot tub after a long day of activities, the pleasing outdoor garden spaces and shaded cafe tables sprinkled throughout. The breakfast Buffett and coffee was excellent and the staff at the front desk were responsive and gracious hosts.

Our room was a bit old (even though it was not a part of the historic building) and worn and functionally obsolete compared to other places we’ve stayed but we did read that the property is undergoing renovations.

The location is great. The breakfast that's included is good quality and having coffee in the lobby all day is an added bonus. Raj was great to work with and was very helpful to offer an upgraded room when our original room was not ready. He is a solutions oriented manager and very pleasant to work with. There are nice areas in the hotel to get small groups together with tables/shade or even indoors.

Some of the rooms needs updating and are a little pricey off season due to the resort fee. I don't like that some people have to pay for parking if they don't book directly with the hotel. I am sorry that the hotel no longer has bar service for happy hour and a piano player--that was a nice touch in the past when I have stayed there.

The location is fabulous. It is right across from the Hotel Del. You can enjoy that beach and the lovely downtown without paying the exhorbitant rates of other nearby hotels. They had a nice (full/hot) breakfast buffet. The staff reached out to accommodate.

The rooms were very basic and dark. Lighting needs to be improved and they are a bit dated. We had a double bed room on the first floor. There was also a lot of construction going on, but it didn't seem noisy while we were there (Thurs/Fri). The construction did block the sidewalk so you had to walk on the other side of the street to get around.

The breakfast was good, there was something for everyone. I loved the cucumber-lemon-lime infused ice water! The location was close (within walking distance for us) to almost all of the eateries on the island. We enjoyed the historical aspect of the inn, and appreciated the way the main original building was preserved. We also liked the proximity to the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The cable tv company had plenty of channels to watch. Our balcony provided very scenic views of Glorietta Bay harbor.

The only thing that I didn't care for was the a/c unit blowing on me all night. I like circulation, but can't sleep with the fan directly on me. A redirection of the air to either the left or right of the bed would have been great.

Location and breakfast is great, employees are friendly.

Wanted a room with view. Received a view but room was located on second level eye level with several huge solar panels directly in front of balcony in front of the view. One bottom dresser drawer in room stayed open would not stay closed and bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned when we got to the room. the desk person was nice enough to give us $25 off the room for that.

The breakfast was great with several hot and cold options, the staff kept everything full and it was lovely to eat on the terrace facing the bay. The staff was always friendly and the location is perfect, it’s a quick walk to the beach or into town. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The soap and shampoo is in little paper packets, that seems good for the environment, but once wet, the paper starts to flake apart quickly, so after a couple of showers it creates a black gooey mess in the shower.

We have enjoyed the Glorietta Bay Inn on six previous occasions, and this was the best by far. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and they treated us with a room upgrade and a bottle of wine. We enjoy the location, the very friendly service,the complimentary breakfast and the very comfortable beds. It is always a treat to stay at the GBI!

The hotel accommodations were comfortable, the room was super cute and functional. I had not looked at the pictures of the rooms on the site and was pleasantly surprised. This would be a good option for a longer stay with the kitchen and private patio with table and chairs. We enjoyed the view of the Bay while eating the hot breakfast included with our stay. I loved the historic feel and story behind the hotel.
