I loved the location of the Handlery Hotel. The amenities were all great and we enjoyed the spa/pool area. We were upgraded to a suite, and definitely will try to book again.

When we first arrived we were in a regular room. The room was dirty and looked used in. For example the bed seemed to have been slept on there was dirty rags on the night stand and there was urine in the toilet as if someone had already been staying in the room prior to us arriving. The room had a strong odor of smoke and was definitely a terrible thing to experience within a few minutes of arriving. We however we removed and upgraded without hesitation! We felt listened to and appreciated.

The location in Hotel Circle was excellent & their property is very large with a HUGE parking lot. The room was very nice & cozy, & there's a restaurant on-site. Very nice, large pool and hot jacuzzi that I used every morning. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

This was unexpected: Even though they have their own gigantic parking lot, for some reason they charge you $12/day during your stay to use it (???). Didn't quite understand this, since the hotel isn't located downtown or had limited space. I've stayed in plenty of hotels in San Diego, downtown, & Hotel Circle in particular & this is the 1st time I've ever had to pay for parking at the hotel for which I'm staying.

Room's were great. Kids loved the pool. Poolside bar staff were incredibly friendly and great service. Although busy I wasn't ignored until he was free.

Check in staff member could have been a lot friendlier - he seemed like he didn't want to be there. Wasn't very welcoming. The lady on check out was much better :)

It was very quiet and comfortable. The room had a balcony that was a nice touch, room was worth the price. It was very close to my destination.

Parking was awkward and not free. I found a very exotic insect in my bathroom.

The location is good.

Paying for parking, my room was not properly cleaned before check-in, large group outside building blocking entrance, same group making noises until 11.

Security does not patrol and my daughter in law with her two small children had an incident at 11:30 PM of a man and woman banging on the room door saying house keeping. They banged the door several times. Looking through the peep hole it was seen the man had a bag over his shoulder. My daughter in law never opened the door. Pretty scary incident

Bed and room were great. did not use the pool. I did not like the covered large pillow on the bed as it looked unsanitary. Pillows with removeable covers would have been better.

Was placed in the furthest building from main hotel and pool. Would like the option to book a room by the pool.

we stayed one night before San Diego half marathon. when selecting the place I was looking at the location, price and cleanliness. I think it was a good choice, I wasn’t disappointed. it’s a decent place to stay when you need to spend a few nights, reasonable pricing. please mind that this is quite an old hotel, though seems like the rooms were renovated recently, but the overall amenities, corridors, lobby etc look aged. depends on what is the purpose of the trip and how picky you are about the place. I wouldn’t be happy to be here on vacation time, but spending a night in a convenient location was totally ok!

Hotel is quite aged. Also the parking fee was unexpectedly for me included in the bill, later on I found out that the parking was paid, but I didn’t notice it when I was booking. It did state $15 parking fee somewhere at the bottom, maybe this should be listed somewhere in a more noticeable place. just a recommendation.
