Big and nice room, casy place, relax and very original design.. Coffee and tea complentary at any time, nice breakfast.

Windows with tiny isolation to outside but this is mostly the case with all US hotels if not new buildings. Bathroom with very cold flor tiles, could have floor heating ..

The hotel location in Japantown was perfect. Parking was easy in the city parking garage attacked to the hotel. The staff was excellent, so attentive and kind. The lobby area was huge and had so many great seating areas for relaxing. There was also a 24/7 coffee/tea station which was great. We spent an afternoon downstairs just reading on a sofa, which was lovely. The room itself was simple and clean. The bathroom was not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. The buffet breakfast (an extra cost) was great. Huge variety and good quality food. Would highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the city, especially anyone hoping to avoid the downtown area which can be very busy.

My only slight complaint was that there is no separate light in the toilet and no door to the sink area outside so in the middle of the night the option was either to pee in the dark or turn on a light that would very likely wake up anyone else in the room. Overall this was just a minor inconvenience and the lobby, staff and location of the hotel more than made up for it! We would stay there again for sure!

The hotel location was good for getting around and easy to find nearby transportation. The breakfast was presented well and had a lot of choice and the quality of food items available was very good. The limited proper seating for breakfast was not the best but acceptable.

The attached restaurant I have to say was just OK, but not exceptional in my humble opinion. The menu was limited considering that Thai food was the specialty.

Fantastic common area with bar, breakfast and lots of seating. Cool place to hang out. Great room overlooking the city and excellent breakfast. Location in Japantown can't be beat as you are a short uber to anywhere in the city whilst avoiding some of the unpleasantness of downtown SF.

Bed a bit tired. Too bad they tiled over the Japanese tub. No door on washroom. just a louvered door on WC was a bit off putting. Thought the price was a tad too high for the room.

Gym was really well equipped and complimentary tea and coffee all day. The staff were really nice! Strong wifi connection available and the room was huge with a fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and umbrella

The windows are probably a bit old and they're huge sliding patio style but they were banging and making a lot of noise the 1st two nights with windy weather. There are no food options outside of breakfast in the hotel

Location was good. Amenities were clean and well appointed

The room and beds were quite small. The bathroom without a door and shower exposed was tricky with a family and the lights in the bathroom were all connected so to turn on the light in the toilet would have woken up everyone in the middle of the night. Our toilet overflowed and a crew had to be sent for clean up and repairs. Very inconvenient. Staff could have been friendlier and we were never offered anything complimentary for the toilet situation. We checked out a day early and made sure the evening before checkout that it was ok and no penalty would be incurred only to be met with a different answer in the morning which required a manager to resolve. So that was upsetting on a last note especially with the toilet situation a couple nights prior.

Stylish rooms, generally very comfortable and had everything you needed (coffee machine, fancy toiletries, mini fridge). Staff were all friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Some rooms have doors between them, presumably to accommodate larger groups booking adjoining rooms. These doors aren't particularly soundproof however and we could hear the people next door (not part of our group). Also if you're in a room facing the road then you may notice traffic noise as I think the windows are single glazed. Neither of these things bothered us much, or were unexpected for a city centre hotel, but those preferring a quiet room may wish to request a higher floor / not road facing.

Very stylish, unique hotel. And in 2023, it's important to add that it's in a safe neighborhood. Hotel Kabuki is rightly on many lists like the 10 Coolest Hotels in San Francisco and the very Best Boutique Hotels in San Francisco. I agree. I've lived in San Francisco for almost 30 years and know the neighborhoods well. While renovating our apartment, I had to find a room near home last minute. I looked extensively online and found other hip, beautiful hotels in SF, but once I saw the neighborhood or cross streets, I knocked them off the list because of how seedy the areas are now. Hotel Kabuki is the rare gem that is All. The. Things. The aesthetics are a 10 out of 10. The hotel strikes an eyebrow-raising balance between artistic and minimalist. The staff is top-notch, welcoming, warm, professional. The beds, pillows, and sheets are incredibly comfortable. Everything is super clean and fresh. The lounge is so inviting it was impossible not to enjoy my complimentary coffee in it before leaving. Two big thumbs up. I love it. (Photos by Jessica Kay and Aubrie Pick)

The parking lot was full when I arrived, albeit it late at night. On the bright side, I found a parking spot right across the street, and because the meter was broken, I ended up getting FREE parking (FYI: it's a metered spot on the northwest side of Post Street near Buchanan in front of Sally's Salon). In a city where hotel parking ranges from $40-$100 per night, that was a fun win. There was lots of open street parking, and the meters start at 9 AM, so it's not a bad idea to park on the street. There's also a Japantown parking lot right down the block. If Hotel Kabuki were in a different neighborhood, I might not recommend street parking, but it's quiet, calm, and safe here.

Location, renovated facilities. Great view. Coffee on tap. Interesting books in the lobby. 20% discount to the spa. Everything I like before plus new faces and decorations. And most important late checkout (though we left early)

Bed sheets are comfortable but too slippery. Not enough EV charging. Ambiguous parking between $29 from the mall vs $45 from the hotel. Not sure if breakfast is included. I know some rooms have a bathtub with Jacuzzi but I didn't check when booking. Still a movable showerhead and platform to sit on is nice.

The team, the breakfast, the location, the space in the room, free coffee, internet was good enough, the view from the 9th floor, the bathroom shower.

Beds are too soft and quite small. There was no real door for the bathroom, so you can't open the light during the night if you have to go to the toilet or you'll wake up your partner... The room was not really insulated for noise, and the mini fridge was making a lot of it as well.
