Our room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. They have clearly invested in some pretty great soundproofing. The mattress was also super comfortable…those combined with the light blocking shades meant the best sleep of my life. The room was small but had everything you’d need. Bathroom was well appointed and generously sized. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, along with an amazing park (The Presidio). We also took advantage of the many bus lines that run within blocks of the B&B; getting around SFO was so easy. If you are dieting, beware!!! These folks lay a mean 24/7 all you can eat CHOCOLATE BUFFET. And homemade cookies. It truly tested my willpower; this was the good stuff (ie Ghirardelli). Breakfast was always tasty; Wi-Fi was super fast.

The breakfast buffet was the same every day.

Great location. Congenial staff and atmosphere. Lots of snacks available anytime. Good breakfast that you order the night before. Comfy bed. Good coffee.

Our room faced the street so you could hear some traffic noise…but not too bad at night

Lovely bed and breakfast. Room is very attractive and bathroom has a great electric bidet. Snack and coffee, tea available all day. Cute little lounge where we met lots of nice people. Breakfast was hot eggs and choice of meats and breads, cereals etc. bread products were not great and it would be nice to have waffles or pancakes available when you are staying more than a couple of days. But overall, good and convenient.

Lights in bathroom had a timer and kept turning off on us. Some instructions on how to control this would be helpful.

It's easy to feel like home at the Monte Cristo Bed & Breakfast. The room I stayed in was very nice, furnished with antique and beautiful furnitures. Bed is super comfortable. The bathroom is vast and has probably been renovated recently. The hotel is small and the staff is friendly and helpful, and even offered some space for me to store my bike when I was not using it. Delicious homemade breakfast, papers are available in the breakfast area, and cookies and fruits are available all the time. In one word: GREAT! :)

Looking for a hotel in the Presidio area of San Francisco? Stop looking and make a reservation at this fantastic B&B. The breakfasts, snacks, fresh cookies, signature chocolates were wonderful. Thank you to Jack for the outstanding hospitality. As Arnold would say, “I’ll be back!”

Our stay was wonderful! My partner and I had only 1 day off from work together and wanted to make the most of it. During our stay at Monte Cristo, we felt as refreshed as we would have after many days off. We felt pampered and taken care of.

2 comments, but neither are actually bad reviews. (1) I brought my car, and there was no formal parking. However, I found immediate and plentiful street parking just across the street. And (2) my partner thought the breakfast scrambled eggs were too cheesy. However, I thought that made the dish better. So this is more of a personal preference thing. Overall, I don't have actually negative comments.

The room, the bathroom, the location were great!

The breakfast experience was a bit disappointing. I am used to lavish and varied breakfasts and our were the same. Also, we had several experiences of our written requests being misinterpreted (maybe pencil was too light?).

You really feel that you live in that old house at Sam Francisco. Exciting! You can pick your breakfast which is generally good

There is no way to open a window, so it gets a bit stuffy.

The interior was charming. The service was great. We needed to refrigerate some things so they brought a small refrigerator to our room. the people were friendly and helpful.

The location was not as nice as I was hoping it would be. Shopping was 3 blocks away and restaurants required getting in the car.

I picked the location because we were going to a special dinner nearby. The staff was friendly and helped me secure a good parking spot. The B&B was surprisingly quiet given that it was on a relatively busy street. The breakfast included made to order eggs, choice of breakfast meats and breads including gluten free options and fresh coffee along with fruit, granola and juice. Newspapers were available as well. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family.
