I love to stay at this hotel. It's really clean and the location is great. It is walking distance to the boardwalk, and it's not too expensive. Everything is updated.

One girl that's at the front desk is very rude every time I come. And it just seems to be her because everyone else is really nice. Also, I had asked for a handicap room ahead of time, and still, when I got there, they said none was left. This has happened before, and I always mention in the comments that I need a handicap room, and still, I don't get it. My daughter is handicap so I don't understand why it's so hard and then to get an attitude about it. It's a shame because I love to stay at this hotel, but they act like if you don't like it, don't book here.

Hotel was close to boardwalk and beach only 10 min walk. Also walking distance to other little stores. A worker by name of Majra was simply amazing 👏🏻 she's was very friendly, helpful and very passionate about customer service. Truly went out of her way to come speak to us. Such a genuine soul. They have a taco truck parked on corner next to hotel I'd recommend it. Definitely worth prices, fresh, great customer service and get alot of food.

Would give hotel 5 stars however.. Hot tubs were not hot at all matter fact was very cold. And hot water in room was sketchy at times didn't have a warm shower. Coffee pot didn't work in room but luckily if you made it down to breakfast they had a fancy coffee machine. Hotel was pet friendly, there was a little area for waste 🐕🗑 however no bags were replenished as indicated (but we brought plenty)

Everything was great! There is a couple of things that needed to be fixed , and the best thing about it, was that it addressed and I was given another room, when I pass through the issue was already getting fixed. That fast! I overall love staying at Solares Hotel, last three years I've been coming here to stay and brought my son and his family this year and they enjoyed the room and everything Hotel Solares had to offer. Very pleased with their services and the staff. Thank you. I will continue to come back here and recommend any one to check out Hotel Solares they will not be disappointed.

Nothing to dislike.

Very clean & comfortable room. Room was nicer than outside of building, which could use a new coat of paint. Bed was excellent. I wear earplugs when sleeping so didn't notice noise. I also wore an eyeshade, which blocked seeing security lighting through window. Room had a fridge which I appreciated. Also they had bagels, fruit, & yogurt as a complimentary breakfast which I wasn't expecting. Pool area looked OK, but weather wasn't nice enough to try it out. Walking distance to boardwalk. Mid-week had mo problems with parking in their lot. I would stay here again.

Front desk staff maybe a bit unfriendly.

This hotel deserved way more that 2 stars. The check-in process was smooth and Ana on reception was so helpful throughout our stay. The pool had a hot tub and pool towels were provided. Our room was exceptional. It was very tastefully newly refurbished. It was truly great value for money and exceeded our expectations.

The only slightly disappointing thing was the choice of food for breakfast. There was no cold drinking water; no fruit juices and no jelly/jam. Also no regular bread, only bagels. We were only expecting a buffet meal but a little more choice could have been easily achieved.

All the staff at the hotel Solaris were very friendly yet laid back no pressure to move along and do things quickly, that was very nice as I had just come from a long road trip. The facilities are beautiful, I think this is an older building that they are renovating. The room was quite large and even had a balcony with several chairs on it to relax on. There were a few repairs that looked slightly rough around the corners but that doesn't bother me at all in fact it added to the charm for me. I don't really like hotels that look sterile. I really wish I had had more time to stay at the Solaris as it is an easy locking distance to the beach and some fun looking shopping and dining areas, next time I come to Santa Cruz I plan on staying here and exploring more of the surrounding areas.

The one thing that was suboptimal for me was the breakfast. I was told that there would be a breakfast in the morning and when I got down it was just Costco style bagels and coffee.

The hotel is nice. I liked the room the blue wall made me feel happy. I liked the shower. I loved the pool and hot tub. The hotel is handicap accessible and that’s awesome. The pool and hot tub have a special chair for disabled people to be lowered into the water. The best part of my stay was being able to use a elevator!! after walking at the wharf and beach and because I have a injury on my knee it was very nice to know I didn’t have to use stairs to make it to my room.

Earlier check in would be nice. A lot of us have long drives and it would be nice to be able to check in earlier to rest a bit before going to the beach.

The room we were given was way better than the last stay we had here. We had 2 Queen beds and a sitting area with a huge balcony. Room 220 was great.

The linen was ripped at the feet on one bed so I pulled it off and didn't use it. I normally pull the sheets back at each corner and inspect the beds, the sheets were clean but I can tell they are kind of old already. The other bed was good. The shower head doesn't have much pressure but it works, it was a nice big square shower head (rain shower). The toilet scared us a couple of times, seemed like it didn't want to flush, but we got passed it. The breakfast was very limited, we showed up at 8:15 am and there were only a few bagels left and yogurts to grab and go.

This is an amazing hotel sort of tucked away but in plain sight. Once inside you are transported somewhere else reminiscent of Hawaii. The inside courtyard makes you feel like you are in an oasis. Lots of attention to detail. The rooms are incredibly spacious which is surprising for this area. Even the toiletries are upscale. Very quiet Wonderful staff. They offer a continental breakfast and 24/7 access to a coffee bar with numerous choices. Easy walking distance to the Boardwalk.

Not that I didn't like this per say but others may like to know that if you request a late checkout (like we did because we slept in) it is an additional charge of $30 per hour.

remodeled rooms, comfortable beds, pretty good location. friendly front desk clerk. free breakfast albeit a limited selection.

2 days before my stay I called and asked if the hot tub was working before I booked, they said it was, unfortunately it was not working, that sucked after a long day in the car and walking around the area. I paid an extra $10-12 for a “resort fee” and it’s not a resort at all and the hot tub was turned off on the weekend and that was the deciding factor in booking and disappointing. hot water in the shower also took a bit to kick in.
