Hard to beat the value of the Salt Air Lodge. We needed a hotel that had a bedroom with a door that closed so that we could have our 2 year old nap and so that we could watch a show before bed. Our room and bath was nicely remodeled and the beds were comfortable. We were very close to the boardwalk, which was great. Wifi was strong and fast enough .

Rugs or mats to brush off your shoes and a broom and dustpan to sweep up sand would be nice. TV channels were limited, but I brought a laptop and hdmi cable so we could stream whatever we wanted on the screen.

I just want to say how happy I am to stay two nights here. The room was very clean. Brand new remolded rooms very spacious and big bathroom. If you’ve ever stayed here before it was remolded it was nice, not too luxurious or anything but it was a comfortable stay but now that the rooms are remolded it’s 20 times better and Sam there is very nice and friendly! great customer service as always I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. I also love that it’s walking distance to the boardwalk. Also the beds are very comfortable. I got the two bedroom suite and each room has a tv now before they only had one in the main room so that’s a plus for the kids so they can watch tv in there own room without having to complain about them wanting to watch there own favorites. I truly recommend this place %100 it was very clean, comfortable, quite, and close to boardwalk.

Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Room was equipped with most of our needs and bed was comfortable

Needed a small stool to sit on when putting our shoes and something to hang out cloths on. No assigned parking. If you had a good spot close to your room and leave to dine or entertainment. When you return almost always the good spot was taken and you would have to find another less convenient parking spot

What I liked about the property was the value. the hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk. This hotel is a lot cheaper than other hotels I stayed at in Santa Cruz. The room was bigger than other hotels in Santa Cruz. The hotel is being remodeled so the rooms look new. The beds were comfortable. The staff was nice.

I don’t have any complaints. I can overlook minor things that they are working on cause the hotel is being remodeled. you might not be able to get parking in the hotel but you can park on the side of the hotel. seems like a safe neighborhood.

The location is convenient, close to the boardwalk and downtown. The room is newly renovated, clean and spacious, wood/tiles floor (no carpet). relatively quiet. windows on both ends of the room, good ventilation.

Few furniture: only one chair and two bedside stools, a cabinet which holds a refrigerator, a microwave, and two big drawers. It would be good to have one more chair and a coffee table, and a closet to hang clothes. There is no coffee/tea onsite. very flimsy soap and toiletries, so need to bring your own.

Definitely the nicest and cleanest motel we stayed in during our trip. The room was completely remodeled and very clean. The motel was perfectly situated between boardwalk and downtown both in a few minutes walking distance. Only stayed there for a night but it’s definitely worth staying there for longer.

The parking space is limited but luckily we got the last spot on the property.

Amazing location 2 blocks 5 mins from the boardwalk. My daughter enjoyed the heated pool in the midst of April. Sam made our experience from the moment we arrived until we left very pleasurable. He was very sweet and accommodating. He really went above and beyond. The facilities are in the process of remodel but look beautiful so far. The bathrooms are big and showers are gorgeous. Loved the 2 bedrooms. My daughter loved having her own space. Can't wait to see them once fully complete. My family and I will be returning again. Thanks again Sam for your hospitality.

IWe loved our stay. We had 2 rooms and both were comfortable and affordable. We were so close to the boardwalk, the beds were AMAZING . The rooms were newly remodeled and the manager SAM was a delightful person and extremely helpful. Looks can be deseving, it looks like a old hotel but was treated like 5 star and the rooms made us feel safe. Definitely recommend if your looking for affoedable and comfortable.

The only thing i can say is i wish they had a coffee pot in the room.

Location was perfect! Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was recently remodeled, nice and clean. Separate small bedroom was perfect for our kids. Rest of hotel was under construction but we were out all day and were not bothered by the construction noise. Hotels in this area are very high price but all around the same. We picked this for the walking distance to beach and boardwalk.

Very clean and updated. There was a separate room for my daughter so she was able to have her own space. The guy at the desk was very nice!!

Parking was not available at night. Lot was full and seemed like people who were not even staying there were using the parking lot. There could have been more than one mirror or counter space in the bathroom. Easier for women to get ready. Would love a coffee pot!
