I loved the location. Short distance to everything I needed to get to. I was pleasantly surprised. Initially I thought the last time I booked in this price range, the room was just ok. (Different property.) I was very happy with my room. It was important to me that the property has a pool, although I was too tired to use it. Everything was clean and well kept. I felt very comfortable.

The angle of the showerhead was not to my liking. It sort of shot more outwards instead of down. It would not adjust.

The bed was huge and very comfortable! The receptionist was very kind and helpful. My friend and I stayed in this motel while seeing a concert in the Catalyst. My friend and I were perfectly comfortable walking around after dark. This hotel was in a perfect location, it isn’t too far from downtown (about a 10 minute walk) or the boardwalk (a 10 minute drive). Most importantly, my friend and I felt safe staying here. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality place to stay.

Their wifi was very slow and we had to use our service instead of the wifi. Also their parking lot is a little small so when the lot started to fill up, parking was a little tedious.

I liked the clean beds and vintage decore. The location is pretty close to a lot of neat sites. The minifridge was really useful for drinks and medication.

I didn't like the discrepancy between booking.com and the hotel. Hotel told me they opened for rooms at four, but the site says two o clock. I think they need to communicate a little better.

I like loved the fact that the room was super clean and cozy. It had a nice size refrigerator and a microwave which I was very happy about because I brought food with me that needed to be refrigerated. I didn’t have to go out and buy food or order in. I was able to heat my food in the microwave, sit back, relax and enjoy my stay. I will definitely be back and hope to get the same room on a regular basis. I highly recommend The Islander Motel.

Owners were very nice and you could see how hard they worked to make this place feel comfortable. Lots of parking for a small motel and even some covered parking spots. The room had all the amenities you need, microwave/fridge/blow dryer/iron. Quiet and we felt safe even when we returned to our room after 10pm.

Bed was very Firm, also it was a little hard to find the entrance off the street.

Friendly checkin, clean room, super comfy bed, nice linens and towels, AC worked well, nice to have a fridge and micro in the room.

No coffee pot in room and office where coffee machine is located did not open until 630am even though the lights were on in the office and the sign said "open" at 615am, the office personnel turned me away.

Modest but well appointed room. I had been concerned about cleanliness, but it really was clean & sanitized. Bathroom appeared to have been renovated in last decade. Shower had plenty of hot water. Heating/AC unit below window produced enough heat to keep room warm in unusual frost conditions. Small fridge was just right to store snacks & restaurant leftovers. Office staff were friendly and helpful.

I like my towels a little bit fluffier. Because of unusual temperatures down to freezing, an extra blanket would have been nice.

Lovely owners - very friendly and helpful. Good quality mattresses and very clean rooms. Perfect location for exploring Santa Cruz and within walking distance of everything you need. Highly recommend!

It was a great choice at a great price.I would definitely stay here again,maybe even next weekend?😊Very clean,room was stocked well,real quiet,a little off the beaten path. The folks were very nice.I really do like this place,very glad this is the place that I chose.

My tv only had one channel,but I never brought it to their attention,so thats on me anyways.

For the price and the location of only about a 5 min drive to the boardwalk it’s a very great motel. It had a friendly staff and the room itself was very clean. I would definitely come to the Islander again for my next trip to Santa Cruz.

The only complaint I’d say about the motel was unfortunately how thin the walls were, at night it seemed like we heard it when almost every car, motorcycle go by.
