Loved the staff, everyone was super helpful and lovely. I really liked the architecture and the design of the whole place with lots of wood, natural finishes and cool outdoor sitting areas by the fire. Onsite restaurant Stella was really good, serving fresh produce and creative, healthy and light dishes. Very well balanced. Loved the location and the little cute town, Truckee, just 5 min away. Great hikes and fantastic lakes around. We had a really good time. Gym was well equipped, the hotel had really good tea and coffee options. Breakfast was delicious.
I liked everything. My only comment would be to add an outdoor shower or a cold water bucket by the sauna. There is no shower at the moment next to the sauna or the jacuzzi which I found quite odd. Little outdoor shower head or even a hose would be amazing.

We've loved this place since it was the Cedar Sports Hotel. The new owners have changed up a few things, but the rooms are still clean and design-forward, the beds are comfortable, and the original cedar architecture is beautiful on a winter's day. We like the new sauna, but miss the old beds with their unique design. Please don't get rid of the hot water kettle, or the metal drinking cups. Being able to stream/cast to the TV is always a plus.
The new owners have put their own spin on things, not always for the better. Now with a co-working space, gym, and aggressive marketing language everywhere, it now feels more like an outpost of a Silicon Valley start-up than a winter lodge. Bro vibes.

I requested early check-in and they were able to accommodate very quickly. So quick that I ended up arriving later than the usual check-in time and felt bad asking for early check-in. There's two electric car chargers in the front by the main entrance. The rooms were modern and updated with comfortable beds. We were given a room on the top floor near the end of the hallway facing the parking lot, so very little noise. I also requested a crib that they placed in the room. They had told me it would be a pack n play, but it was an actual crib with wheels! I brought my own sheets, but there was a thin sheet on top of the mattress. There's a variety of tea bags available in the lobby and they provide cookies upon your arrival. Staff was friendly and helpful whenever they see you. We also went to the regional park nearby for sledding and some meals in downtown Truckee. Would definitely recommend.
We felt everything was great and enjoyed our stay. We did hear some neighbors at times, but that's expected at these two story hotels. It wasn't so loud we couldn't sleep.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful with answering our many questions about local events. The cozy bar opens to an outdoor area with comfortable chairs and fire pits, and it was the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day with an adult beverage! The robes in the room were a lovely touch.
We wished we stayed longer! We never had a chance to use the sauna, workout room, or eat at the restaurant, which we heard is absolutely fantastic from locals.

One of my favorite places to stay in North Lake Tahoe. Rooms are excellent, and the hot tub is perfect after a day on the slopes.
It's a nice touch to give us cookies upon check-in, but since the new ownership has taken over, the cookies (which were once delicious) have seriously declined in quality. This may seem silly, but I've been staying here for awhile now, and used to get excited about the cookies - this trip, they went in the garbage after 1 bite. Having a courtesy shuttle to take us into town or to the mountain would be a nice addition as well.

I loved the location of this hotel and the whole atmosphere. It was so relaxing. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. It was a little pricey - but it was delicious and very convenient. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but it had all the essentials - a clean room, comfy beds and a nice bathroom. It's not super fancy - it's very much geared to outdoorspeople so just bear that in mind. The staff was very knowledgeable and pointed us in a great direction for some outdoor activities.. The hotel is an easy 20 minute ride to Tahoe. I rather enjoyed being away from all the hustle and bustle of Lake life. One thing -- don't miss downtown Truckee. It is a great little town with some charming shops and a variety of restaurants. I think they were better than either the shopping area in Kings Beach or Tahoe City.
We were going to have dinner at the restaurant - but it was a bit too expensive and the menu seemed somewhat limited.

Cedar House is an architectural beauty tucked onto the rocky and lush hills of the quaint town of Truckee. It’s best features are: it’s staff, free bike usage with the most picturesque trails right outside its doors, Stella’s restaurant just a walk away from any room, it’s outdoor seating area and mini bar in lobby.
Bring your own coffee because the boojie bags in the room don’t come close to a cupa joe. The bed was not the best… nor the worst, unfortunately the heavily trafficked road in front makes for a noisy morning or sit on the mini deck…interrupting the beautiful setting.

Love this boutique hotel. The rooms are well appointed, clean and feel like you are in the mountains. The property is walkable to downtown Truckee, and easy driving distance to skiing and Lake Tahoe. The restaurant serves a great breakfast and they have a small bar which serves drinks next to a fireplace in the evening. We'll definitely stay here again!
The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, especially for breakfast.

beautiful and comfortable location. the facilities were beautiful and the room was super clean and comfy. will most definitely be coming back!
the majority of people visiting the area are either going to the lake in the warmer days and skiing/snowboarding so it really surprised me there are no washer/dryers on the property. I wish there was at least a dryer. after a day on the mountain all our gear was wet so we had to drive into town to look for a laundromat

Clean and close to town and Donner Lake. The spa was a plus too.
Although our room was very nice and we enjoyed our stay we were a little disappointed with 2 amenities. We didn’t particularly care for the “teabag” coffee. No flavor and was weak even with 2 bags as suggested. One bathroom robe had a dirty collar and the other was ripped in the side so that was a minus.
