I know that this goes against current trend, but I like a carpeted room. Our mattress was just about perfect and made for a good nights sleep. This is one of the last "mom and pop" motels, and I enjoyed the character and history of the place. The owner/manager is a great guy.

There's traffic noise, mostly during commute hours. There are a few things to repair in the bathroom having to do with water pressure, but I was assured that it's on the schedule beginning in October, 2023.

The Rainbow Lodge is a classic motor lodge built during the time when travelling by car on two lane highways was an adventure. It has most of the modern amenities without sacrificing the charms of those earlier days. The motel is a family owned business that the current owners have had for the last 25 years. Pride in ownership shows as the ground are well maintained and landscaped and the staff is constantly working to maintain and improve the property. The rooms were neat and clean and have a layout not found in the more modern hotels allowing guests to have a little more privacy. The beds are comfortable and our bathroom had recently been remodeled. The staff were always pleasant and available for questions. In short, just a nice place to spend a week

The wife and I discussed this and to be honest we couldn't find fault with anything..

Check in was easy. Staff were very helpful. The bed was big and very comfortable. Our room was like staying at a great-aunt's house. It was amazing how much furniture they were able to get into the room. We were doing breakfast on our own and the refrigerator/freezer & micro-wave made that very easy. The location was excellent for access to Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, and the highway to get to other parts of Colorado Springs and beyond was nearby. Good access to walking trails. Rooms have no irons or ironing boards, but they will provide them upon request.

The AC unit seemed loud, but that was a common problem with most places we stayed.

I loved the atmosphere. It encouraged you to be outside feeling more like a community than a motel. Each unit had an outside bench or chairs, there were picnic tables, a nice pool and beautiful large containers of flowers throughout. It was older and not perfect but updates were quality like laminate or hardwood floors, nice fixtures, etc. The beds were comfortable. It's family run and a lot of love goes into it. We met families that travel there every year for family reunions. It is very family friendly. Breakfast is coffee, prepackaged pastries and fruit, not a lot but enough to start your day. They have more types of units than listed on booking sites but you need to call them directly to learn about them. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night!

The parking is a little tight in some places. The motel is set up in a U with a set of buildings down the middle creating streets and the feeling of a small community.

The price was very affordable. This was a halfway point for the meeting of two parts of our family. We liked the two-bedroom setup. It worked great for our needs. We liked our little patio. The location was ideal for our sight seeing!

The small air conditioner did not cool the second bedroom in the house. There was only one bathroom for the entire two-bedroom cottage. There were some unsavory pool jumpers (drunks/homeless). It needs to be cleaned better. The wood floors were filthy - very dusty. The cottage is definitely showing it's age.

Almost everything! Room was clean and confutable. The staff was great too.

Only that the shower water pressure was not the best!

Locally owned, older "Mom & Pop" motel, the type I prefer. Owners friendly and cooperative. Facilities very clean and comfortable. Great location. Pleasant public gathering areas and seating outside each unit. Room size adequate for one person and one night. Small fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and coffee maker in room. Breakfast area with hot drinks and fresh fruit available all day. Didn't use pool, but it looks very inviting. Overall, Rainbow Lodge exceeded my expectations and I will stay here again soon.

No tea bags in room with coffee maker; however, I found tea available in the breakfast area. A couple prepackaged pastries offered. This is a budget lodging and I was surprised any sort of breakfast or snacks were included, so it was fine and got me going. Free WiFi connection offered in room, but limited to a small area of property--not in the room. Note: These were not large inconveniences for me.

This place is quaint; extremely clean, well furnished. The couple running the place is friendly and accommodating. I liked the location and this time of year it was nice and quiet, but during peak times, I don’t know. Price was pre good. NO WEED SMELL—very important to me. Fridge, microwave and coffee in room, all worked. I was able to get a no pet room, which is also important. They said that their no-pet rooms never have pets, which I need. Overall, I would recommend. I will try to stay again.

Older, bit run-down, patched/peeling areas on walls, rust on bathroom fixtures. This didn’t bother me, as I assume it’s in progress. No breakfast amenities at all.

The hotel is in a great location in the right between down town Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. It’s close to Garden of the Gods and several other tourist spots. We had the penthouse with 2 bedrooms and a pull out couch. It was perfect for us and our 4 grown children. The pool was nice to relax in.

The breakfast and coffee was not great, but our room had a regular coffee pot in the full kitchen, and it’s so close to several coffee shops that we didn’t miss out.

Not much of a selection for breakfast, just pastries and coffee, but the beds were soft, the linens were all fresh and clean, and the rooms were very well kept. Looks slightly dated on the outside but the rooms were very nice (the most important thing). Never got around to using the pool but it looked nice, lots of other people were using it so it must be good. Uncle Sam’s pancake house is right down the road and had an amazing breakfast.

Better breakfast options would be nice. Eating out every morning was a little pricy (can’t hike on an empty stomach!). We had the king and queen room, so there wasn’t a way to cook. Next time we’ll try to book farther in advance and get the rooms with a kitchen.
