The attentiveness of staff, the character and charm of this historic property and the surrounding beauty was a much needed respite. We will be back! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Valet Matt who set the stage for a great experience with a warm welcome. The front desk was efficient and polite and got us into a great room. We had several meals on the Veranda, the Dining room and the at the Grill and each had exceptional service, bar selections and amazing food. Our room was full of charming touches, historic reminders and modern comfort at the same time. Articles and pictures posted everywhere paid tribute to previous guests and noted historical events and achievements.

Location was incredibly convenient to downtown. Valet staff (Danny when we arrived in late afternoon was incredibly friendly and welcoming & Matt in the morning when we left was so upbeat and polite) was great. Hotel has a lot of history and character. Bathroom was spotless
With the history comes some electrical outlets that didn't charge well (but we did appreciate the charging station at the desk), carpet that is a bit old, and the room was very stuffy (we had to open windows to get room below 74 degrees F in March). Any inconvenience was worth it because of the location and interesting history.

My husband and I stayed here for our 2nd Anniversary. We were immediately greeted by Matt, who was very friendly, welcoming, and had such a pleasant attitude. The front desk ladies were also friendly One (forgot her name. Very pretty, young, brunette) helped us with finding the Shuttle 33. YOU GUYS ARE GOLDEN! We were upgraded to the Roosevelt Suite which was, hands down, the best! Bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a dream with a huge tub, heated toilet seats and towel rack, etc. The fireplace and sitting area was much needed for us to relax and unwind as we did several mountain tours in Manitou. The room also offered a nice size fridge. No microwave, but that was fine as there are several eateries in the area. (We stored water and soda in the fridge. It's needed for altitude). Room was always cleaned thoroughly and smelled very good each day. Valid drivers are exceptional too! I loved that we didn't have to wait long for our vehicle each time. They were prompt and friendly, even letting us know of places to visit within the area. The breakfast is very good as well. Make sure to try the biscuit and gravy and the lemon tarts. Sooo good! $15 is not bad for breakfast here! Valid is also $15 per day which is not bad at all! If you're in the Manitou area, this is a must stay. It's in the midst of all attractions, restaurants, and friendly people! Oh, and the spring fountains too! We're from Louisiana and this little town made us really considering moving here. It felt peaceful and Heavenly.
Everything was awesome. No complaints here.

Didn't partake of breakfast. Extra cost of $15 was ridiculous. Breakfast should have been complimentary, considering cost of room. Night chocolates were a nice surprise. Newsletter was interesting. Staff was very helpful for the most part. Location was great.
Need a handicap accessible entrance. Getting in the building with a walker was challenging. If not for my husband I would have been in trouble getting up the steps. Jet tubs are not handicap accessible. When I arrived, with a walker, front desk should have asked if a room with a jetted tub was acceptable. Would have preferred an updated walk in shower.

We liked the old charm of the hotel. It has such an interesting history. It is old but very well kept. We will definitely try to stay there again.
Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at the bar and grill. There was a mistake with our order but the waitress kindly took it off. We have been visiting Manitou for many years. This time was a first to see some business's gone/closed up. We had an encounter with a vagrant on our way to dinner that was not pleasant. He was overly persistent and would not leave us alone after we asked him to kindly leave us alone. We love Manitou, but I think they are having some issues.

The staff members are extremely nice at the Cliff House! Ultimately the staff members are what sets the tone for any stay anywhere one my travel and I bet we can all agree on this. I knew from the start with Shawn in valet we were in the right place as he is a super, genuinely nice person. Check in and check out staff were wonderful as well. Upon entry I notice the historic charm, which only added to our wonderful stay and we can't wait to return. The room provided a nice hot shower, heated toilet seat, comfy bed/pillows, coffee maker, fridge, bottles of complementary water and coffee creamer in room. Also, I was blown away by the turn down service and chocolate left in our room while we ate our evening meal. The Cliff House in my opinion can't be beat!
I could only stay one night!

The location is great! I love the beauty and history of the hotel. I liked how they turned down the bed and left chocolates in the evening. We enjoyed the Red Mountain Bar & Grill.
Upon arrival, we were very tired from traveling. We only had one towel, two wash cloths, one floor rug/towel and one hand towel. We should have had at least two towels without having to ask for more. There was a clump of hair in the shower. However, it was on a tile wall with design so it may have been hard to see. I was a little disappointed with the valet service as we were leaving. Someone arrived in the front drive as the valet was bringing our vehicle around. So, he parked our vehicle on the side of the building and greeted the next guests. I feel that we should have had the full valet experience and should have been able to load our vehicle close to the front door.

The hotel was very elegant, staff was friendly and they had a convenient valet option. The live plants in the room and corridors were a nice touch. Great view of the Manitou Incline from our room, we were also able to see the older buildings in town.
Despite low occupancy and no booking for our room we were charged $50 per half hour for late checkout, this was explained ahead of time however I would've appreciated a little more grace from the property. We would've preferred to spend this money on their gift shop items which were nice and memorable but with the charge we made the decision not to do so.

The staff was about as professional as can be. The GM Martin is quite accessible, down to earth, interesting and kind. The consummate professional. Smiles and happiness are found everywhere. The staff is recognized and they take great pride in their work. The bar and restaurant were just restored.
The AC in our room was a bit spotty so they moved us in 10 minutes!!! At 10:15 at night. It is a unique spot so the age and patina are quite desirable.

The location and view are excellent! The room’s unique and antique furnishings and decor are very charming. The coffee and bath products are excellent. The bed is comfortable.
The overall condition of things in the room and around the property is getting pretty dilapidated. The curtains are frayed, there’s a paint crack around the vent, there’s trim missing around various places in the halls. From our room there’s a view of the lower story roof and a big section of the decorative railing is broken off. You can see many window ac units around. It’s neat that it’s an old hotel but it just deserves some attention.
