On our motorcycle trip from Richmond VA to the Grand Canyon and back, we are trying to stay at places that won't break the bank. In this case, there was very little available in Durango because of the holiday weekend and the many activities scheduled. I had a horrible time finding anything. The Booking.com site was acting a fool and I ended up reserving two rooms. Only needed one and the policy states no cancellations. I called the hotel at midnight, while trying to deal with Booking.com. I spoke to Sherry who sensed my panic. She said she'd see what she could do to get one room cancelled, but offered no guarantee. Ten minutes later she called back saying I was good to go with only one reservation. My opinion of Econo Lodge got bumped up a notch! Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a smile. The reception area was clean and orderly. Our room was small, dark outdated, BUT clean. The beds were comfy, the water was hot and the shower pressure was good. The continental breakfast offered was better than many we'd experienced on our cross country travels. I'm giving this Econo Lodge a 5, not because it's top notch, high end, fancy, but because, in it's class, this budget hotel meets the bar.

Room was very nice for the price. Fridge, microwave, nice size TV. Hot tub was very clean and felt great after skiing. Breakfast was a typical Continental breakfast. Ran out of fruit, but there was plenty of everything else. Checkout went smoothly and we were on our way.

Ice maker was across the parking lot, but got our exercise and never ran out of ice. Key stopped working after day two of our three day stay. Had to go to the lobby to get a new key. Had signs which said not to back into your parking spot. Must have had issues with people backing up too far and hitting things.

location is great, bit not close to old town area. Check in was quick..personel was nice..breakfast had waffle maker and yoghurt plus the usual cereal..etc. parking was somewhat on the small side, but plenty available. Refrigerator works. evrything seemed clean . no elevator so make sure to ask for bottom unit if unable to walk up with luggage. we just stayed for one night..but i would definitely stay there for longer period. I have a tight travel budget and for Durango this was a great deal.

everything was fine, I wish there were eggs to be had in the morning.

The breakfast was good for fast traveler(s) like us (us & grandkids). The Office worker (Bill) was an out spoken person and helped us with location of various places within the city area. He was a kind person who made you feel secured within the motel area.

The additional parking area in the back of the motel needed additional lighting since this was in an alley-like area (street). Maybe put a couple of motion detector lights within the area to keep looters on their feet and move out of the area.

Good location, close to downtown. Our room was very clean! Bill in the office was cheerful and helpful. Newer engineered floors, fridge, and nice sized bathroom. Outside patio next to the office.

Could us some chairs outside our room to sit on. The room was small. Free breakfast had cereal, waffles, milk, yogurt, packaged muffins, and apples. We stayed 2 nights and felt it could use a choice of hard boiled eggs, cheese, more fruit like cuties and bananas, a toaster with some bread or bagels.

Check in was Easy and smooth. I ever had in hotel. no problem with room card. Front desk is super friendly and clean lobby. breakfast was fine for us good and basic. I love coffee I love is hotel is friendly with dogs and doggies area. and it was super quiet I love king site that I booked. We had so much space 3 of us and +2 our furkids. And thanks you for the airfan in room. Thanks you for our stay econo inn lodge. We had a great time..

Only thing I didnt like is having 1hr that dog could be alone in room but understood have a rule in place. But we found a boarding place near by the train station in a short notice.. Healthy Hounds and Fat cat did a great job. Dogs were supper happy had doggie play date while were on the train. it my first time having dog in the hotel. I wish I knew that it would help put into our plan of trip and budget. Beds were okay.. I love that had a king bed. room was clean but can little bit more cleaner. We found few things. It was NO problem for us.. we kinda expect it was dog room..

The hot tub is always a plus. But the man at the front desk when I arrived was absolutely adorable, as well as the helpful friendly young lady with a parrot on her shoulder the 2nd day I was there. . This staff takes pride in the comfort of their guests... . That will win every time with me!! I come to Durango every 2 weeks for medical reasons. I will stay at econo as well as recommended it to my family and friends

The hot tub was covered from the night sky

The breakfast was great! And the office is open 24 hours with a carafe of coffee available. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The location was good; close to restaurants and convenience stores.

The pillows were not standard size. They were about 1/3 smaller than a normal pillow. They worked but it would have been nicer to have a regular pillow.
