Location. Friendly front desk & staff overall.

Some rooms should have a mini-frigde (for drinks) & a microwave (for leftovers). A couple coin-op laundry machines would help too.

my daughter and her girlfriend had bought tickets to the Taylor Swift concert, and were planning on driving to the concert and back home to Michigan after because they couldn't find a hotel anywhere in Chicago that they could afford. Although my daughter is 24 and an adult, I am still her mom, and knew what a long day this would be, and didn't want them to risk driving home that night. I started searching online, and found this hotel. I did the mom thing. /!: read every review, googled the hotels safety concerns etc...anything I could think of, because I couldn't understand how a hotel less then two miles from the venue (Soldiers Field), would have rooms available and renting them for just over $150. There wasn't a hotel room in the city available for under $1300 bucks. after all my research, I couldn't find anything but good reviews. So I booked it for them, and told them it was an early birthday present. I am so glad I did, and I love the fact the hotel represents itself so transparently. They provide great pics and and a very good description of where you are staying. The hotel is very clean, the girls felt very safe, the staff was very helpful, and we would highly recommend staying here, if you are seeking a similar experience. If you are looking for a clean, affordable, safe place to stay in Chicago, without all the high end amenities...this is it! so close to everything. The hotel does not include parking, but at this price, why would they. There is safe parking less than a 3 min walk from the hotel and it is only $16 dollars a day. For Chicago this is great!!! If you are on the fence about booking, I hope this review helped you make a decision.

Chinatown Hotel is centrally located in Chinatown next to lots of great places to go eat. The customer service is friendly the hotel is clean and you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg like you do at Jaslin hotel who’s price changes everyday on the opposite side of the same block. Beds are very comfortable and that is what really matters.

I wish there could be a small refrigerator in the room. One of the rooms didn’t have good curtains it was boards but it does the job.

I like how The Chinese operate.

Other guests should really try to show adult levels of respect and lower the volume.

Everything is as described in the hotel offer - it's near the subway, there is a place to make coffee (also provided by the hotel), there is a mutual fridge. Our room was en suit - bathroom and the sheets were really clean. The room was spacious enough, there was A/C and a TV. The staff kept our bags after check out, which saved us money and trouble. You can pay deposit in cash and you get it back during check out. Generally we recommend this hotel to all travellers.

Floors (especially in corridors) need cleaning - I don't understand why they don't do that - it's so simple and it would save a lot of nasty comments, which I think this hotel does not deserve.

The China Town Hotel is located in an excellent area with close proximity to many interesting locations of Chicago. The staff was very helpful especially Ms. Farah and Mr Muhammad, they took good care of us during our stay. The hotel has good value for money. I shall recommend all to stay in this hotel.

Nice rooms, most I've stayed in are small but cozy. Always clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I have encountered a different staff member at the front desk each time I've stayed and they have always been kind. It's a good, convenient location right in the middle of everything, the shopping area, and in walking distance of the affordable public parking lot which I use. It is quiet even though there is traffic nearby/around the corner. I tell my friends about this hotel if they ever plan to visit Chicago/ Chinatown.

I hardly have anything negative to say about this hotel. That is why I keep coming back. I just wish there was a microwave and/or refrigerator in each room for convenience. I was not informed about the nice lounge down the hall with the microwave and refrigerator until my last stay. So that is one bonus that I know about now.

Clean and comfortable room, 24h reception with friendly staff willing to help, perfect location close to public transportation, shops and restaurants. Very good price for Chicago. Although modestly furnished and with basic facilities, this hotel is perfect for non-picky travelers with a low budget. It's a safe place for solo female travelers as well. I recommend!!

The hallways and stairs would need a bit of renovation

I like the location in Chinatown. It's right by the Kpop store that we love to shop at. The rooms are small but cozy. The staff are always nice and welcoming. The room we got this time was bigger than in August. And bathroom was bigger.

This was our second time staying here. We were on the 3rd floor again which is fine but a lot of stairs. Wish there was an elevator. After I took a shower, I noticed the carpet on the other side of bathroom was wet near the wall. It was also cold in bathroom...the heater didn't arm up the bathroom. We had to put the heat up to 79 just to be warm bc of the cold air from bathroom....maybe bc of window. I mentioned the issues to young lady at front desk. She was nice and said sorry but did not offer to give me any part of my money back. Our first visit was in August 2022. It was a wonderful experience that time.

The bed was very comfortable, and the location was excellent (right in old Chinatown and a 4 minute walk from the Red Line), the water got warm super fast, it was clean, the staff was kind and professional, and they have 24 hour service.

The room was very small, it smells like smoke (not their fault, it's the guests' fault), the furniture was noticeably old. There's only a single refrigerator and microwave for the entire hotel (they clean it every week though)
