They gave vouchers for 2 free drinks (4-6pm) and vouchers $ off a meal for each day. I used mine for two free breakfasts and a chicken sandwich that cost $1 after the voucher. The bar/restaurant was a nice spot and the food was good. The Talbott had all the expected amenities of a nice hotel-- comfortable bed, good sheets, rain shower, clean, etc. Location was excellent-- interesting neighborhood. Lots of food options and shopping nearby. John Hancock building is right down the street. Oak Street beach is a few blocks away.

Service at the restaurant was mixed. I was always seated right away, but sometimes it would take a long time for a server to take my order-- to the point I thought I was forgotten. Once they came, both cocktails and meals were served quickly. All the servers and bartenders were friendly and professional; I think they just need a better system of assigning servers. View from my room wasn't particularly interesting (another building a few meters away) but it wasn't terrible. The fees and taxes made the final price much higher than the sticker price. Parking was very expensive, so I took the train.

The room was big and modern decorated. The restaurant service and food in the hotel was amazing. The location was perfect to walk everywhere. The neighbor of the hotel was safe and elegant.

The room service was not cleaned the room even we asked and remembered many times to reception. There is no water in the room to make a coffee or drink. The water in the entrance is not sufficient to carry into the room. Most of the night we forget to buy a water and it is not okay to go outside just for water.

Location is terrific for roaming the magnificent mile of Michigan Ave. The room I had was fine but the bathroom was modern better than those of my friends. It was not possible to tell if their rooms were in in update plan. My shower was spacious and lovely while they had shower tubs.

I am glad the hotel has been able to find staff to hire, but three of the desk agents were clearly not trained well or experienced enough to deal with our group. Without a concierge the best the front desk could do was come up with one map and a list of restaurants that lacked low-medium-high price categories. There were no glasses or coffeemakers in the rooms and guests were not asked whether they wanted any housekeeping services - including dry or clean towels- during the multiday stay in a hotel that should provide it to all guests. Every time I secured a glass, housekeeping that I specially requested, took it away the following day and left nothing in its place.

This was my second stay at The Talbott because it’s a wonderful place. Charles welcomed us at the curb with his huge smile, and we quickly checked in at reception. It’s comfy, dog friendly, and easy going. It’s located among terrific shops, restaurants and cafes, but it’s the staff that really makes it sparkle.

The rooms were very large, and comfortably fit the three people in our party. We stayed in a Double Queen room, and there was more than enough space for everyone to get relax and get ready comfortably. The beds were very nice, and we were able to choose whether we preferred housekeeping in the morning or afternoons, or not at all. The location on the Magnificent Mile was very central to a lot of the things we wanted to do and see. All the staff we interacted with—front desk, doorman, housekeeping, alike—were so welcoming and helpful.

The only downside to staying at the Talbott was that there was no microwave in the room, there was a mini fridge, however.

Location was great. Ive stayed in chicago for at least 10 years now. Some hotels may have been newer or had a few more amenities. But this is BY FAR the BEST staff I've ever seen at a hotel. From Charles the sweetest doorman in the city to every single person at the desk. They wasted no time and dropped anything they were doing to help. I swear they ran everywhere to get stuff for us. Crazy quick service for anything. I will be back to this hotel for sure just because of the excellent staff. Thank yall so much!!

The only thing that kinda stunk was our jacuzzi tub didnt work. But in an older building... You'll have that. I understaood. They did overcharge our room. But it was a system mistake and they corrected it right away and took some off for inconvenience!

The location of this property is terrific. A little off the beaten path, so it was a bit quieter, but close enough to get anywhere by foot pretty easily. The room was large, clean, and quiet. the bathroom had a double vanity which was really convenient. The bed was firm and comfortable. There was also a couch so we could spread out a bit. There was also complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning, and it was good coffee.

The two elevators were slow when things were busy, but it wasn’t as much a problem as it was a minor inconvenience. The entrance and front desk were a bit cramped, but again, more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Location was great, lovely room and facilities.

Room was not serviced on a 2 night stay, and some staff were inexperienced, eg, had to wait for checkin well past check in time. There was no follow up to get me when my room was available as undertaken by the desk.

Jody at the check in desk was GREAT! Taylor brought everything we needed and wanted and did it with a smile! But the savior of our weekend was Brandy and Stefania!!! We were having major problems with our theater tickets through Ticketmaster and they worked tirelessly until they solved our problem. We would not have seen Moulin Rouge without their help and would have been out $930.00. We cannot thank them enough!!!

We always stay at the Talbott when we go to Chicago. We’re always first greeted by Charles, who is the friendliest doorman we’ve ever met. The rest of the staff are friendly, too. The hotel is sparkling clean and the beds are very comfortable. The location is perfect; close to Michigan Avenue and good restaurants.
