Not going to lie, I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews on here. I'm so happy I went with my gut and booked anyway. We stayed in room 10. The room was updated, extremely clean and fresh. No lingering motel musty smell at all, if you're worrried about that! The owners live right on the property and were very attentive. I asked about a microwave a day or so before our stay. I was told they would put one in the room when we arrived and they had it in the room before we even got there. The carports were an absolute bonus, especially when leaving a softball game we got rained out of. The ability to unload the truck out of the rain, YES. Plus they have a little table and chairs under each so you can enjoy the fresh air even when the weather isn't the best. We needed extra towels and wash cloths, she ran to get them. A friend asked for an extra blanket for another room, it was right there. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and want to thank them for being so kind and inviting.

There was absolutely nothing we didn't like

The room we were given was large, beds were comfortable which was important after a super busy event day. Glad for a fridge and microwave. Renovations had been done to update it a bit. We really enjoyed having our own carport. The manager was kind enough to offer us this bigger room when we checked in.

I know that uncarpeted rooms are the trend now but a few throw rugs or runners near the beds would be helpful.

I love this place--have stayed here before and will stay here again. It offers very convenient access to Skaneateles while feeling a little "remote." Fridge and microwave in the room are helpful.

More room lighting would have been helpful. WiFi went in and out.

The motel is nestled among trees. It is quiet and peaceful.

It is very different to find when driving down the street as the Whispering Wind Motel sign is completely faded away. It needs repainting.

The room was exceptionally clean and cozy. The hosts were very pleasant and welcoming. All amenities were as advertised.

The only flaw was the drain in the shower. The water went down very slowly and forced me to rush to get out before the water overflowed onto the bathroom floor.

This is a reasonably-priced option close (2 minute drive) to Scaneateles, where hotels were mostly overpriced and mostly booked up. It is a small, 1930s-style motel which current ownership and management have made quite nice and kept clean -- swimming pool, gazebo, knotty-pine paneling, comfortable beds, modern shower, cable, AC and free parking. It has an older-style feel, but was comfortable. The manager was extremely responsive when the window-mounted AC was too noisy -- she seamlessly replaced the unit with a newly-purchased one while we were out to dinner!

They were quaint. They had a pretty heated pool. The grounds have a really pretty spot in the back with several areas to sit in the shade/. There is a gazebo. It was really quiet and we were next to the office. There was a spot by every room to sit outside . A peaceful spot in between the two cities Auburn and Skaneateles.

If u are traveling with boat it’s a little tight on parking and plugging ur boat in for charge

Remote and very pretty. Clean and just so welcoming! If you’re looking for the holiday inn keep driving. This is mom and pop - modern and old school mix. Have recommended to everyone I talk to about our night away. 5 stars!!!
