The room generally was nice. It had a comfortable king bed & bare floors (which in summer is fine, but , for us, but NOT if it had been cooler outside. There are a number of electrical outlets for everyone's increasing number of electrical devices to be plugged into & the WiFi access was easy. The fridge had a decent sized mini-freezer so our "fake ice" packs, etc. could refreeze, as "serious cold" bases for the refrigerated left-overs, waters, etc. that traveled with us to the next location. We also enjoyed their more solid breakfast (NOT the typical motel "continental"-style, which often has blah coffee, dead starches, 1 juice & unappetizing fruit).

The room had bare floors, which was fine & cooling during the summer, but we would NOT have been happy to deal with cold floors in cooler weather. Our room was as the back, overlooking the parking area, but generally it was quiet, except mid-AM when people and cars were checking in & out.

A good location. (10 minute walk from central downtown Ashland). Free, basic, self-serve breakfast was fine and fair. People staffing it were busy cleaning, re-stocking and assisting patrons with congeniality. The attention to lessening environmental impacts was a nice feature which should be promoted more in their advertising. Pleasant, well trained, employees made navigating our stay easier. Our room faced the back se corner and was quiet. Given the rampant volatility in pricing behaviors these days, the Stratford was solid, fairly priced and attentively staffed.

The following are suggestions more than outright criticisms; I would replace one of the two armless chairs with at least one armchair. Shower/Bath fixture could stand to be updated with the flexibility of a tethered wand type shower head to accommodate different heights. Another Electrical outlet would be nice as one outlet was placed between wall and mattress without access. (Perhaps, just raise the location higher on the wall.) End tables on both sides of bed instead of just one.

What a charming inn in a beautiful little town! The Stratford Inn exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable, and we loved the more "old fashioned" decor. We liked that they had bottles with pumps of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower rather than the tiny bars of soap and bottles of shampoo. The view from our room was fantastic! It was perfectly located for us to walk to the downtown area. Staff was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had a good selection of food and beverages and a nice, big area to sit down and eat.

I cannot think of anything I didn't like about this motel.

Breakfast was really good. Everything was fresh. Dining area was very clean. Staff was so friendly. They have air purifiers in each room. Great! I love the fact that they have large dispensers of shampoo, soap etc. No wasted tiny soaps. No paper or plastic cups. Nice coffee maker and frig and microwave. Air conditioner was quiet and worked well. Everything was super clean. We'll come back!

Wish there hadn't been smoke in the outside air. We've been here before and love the fact that you can walk into town and choose from all the wonderful resaurants in the area. It was just too smokey outside. Those in-room air filters really were nice!

Desk staff gal was exceptional, as was the gal who monitored breakfast. In all honestly, we usually stay at Marriott Resident Inns, but none being available we chose this facility as it was walk-able to excellent restaurants and Safeway! Although the property was older, it was well kept, well staffed, and such a bargain. The minimal breakfast was not the fruit, protein, and choices available at a Res. Inn, but for the price it was totally fine. For a quick overnight I'd give it 5 stars because of the excellent management and personnel. Option to eat outside for breakfast is a nice plus. Covered parking!

The location was very nice- accessible to the downtown but not directly in it, especially in the great weather there was. Next to a grocery store so nice to stocking up on my roadtrip further south into California. Was able to see a fair amount of great stuff without having to move my car. Provided full sized toiletries were quality- I didn't get my own out for the night.

The room smell wasn't fantastic, the A/C wasn't the freshest even with an appreciated ionizing fan. Didn't seem to have a fan for the bathroom which made drying it out a bit difficult. The breakfast was also not the most filling especially given my lactose sensitivity, I could have used a bit more protein especially since Ashland is one of the few obvious stops if you're doing Portland to SF like me, or a similar trip.

Nice breakfast (not fancy or extremely varied but excellent food nicely presented). The location was walking distance from all the attractions I wanted to visit. They had an indoor pool that was available for decent hours. The breakfast room was lovely and also available during the day for my party to spend time visiting together. There is a private space in the reception area that was also great for evening discussion. They have some covered parking. They have a guest laundry room. Great facility.

My experience exceeded my expectations. I have no suggestions for improvement.

Nice, central location to main street(s) in Ashland. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance; 20 minute drive to Mt. Ashland for skiing. Full breakfast included in price, good variety of hot and cold foods/beverages. Room with two queen beds was good size for the four of us (one adult, three teen/young adult girls). Hotel seems a little dated but is charming, with its old English Shakespearean feel. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but many people did and they were good sized and looked very clean. Staff very helpful, lots of detailed info about the area in binders/flyers throughout the lobby.

Only complaint was that there's only one washer and dryer, but was thankful for them! Room temp seemed a bit hard to control - we had heat on a low temp but it got hot so we cracked a window, but then it was too cool. We probably could've just asked for an extra blanket or two but it was by no means uncomfortable.

The room was beautiful and comfortable for all five of us (3kids). We were located on the first floor which was perfect in the heat, because we didn’t need to use the AC due to the wonderfully shady room. It was so comfortable and nice. We don’t like AC‘s so much and this was just perfect for us. The hotel is in a great location. Lots of restaurants, stores, etc. are in walking distance which made it possible to just ditch the car and walk everywhere.

Can’t think of anything that we didn’t enjoy.

The young, enthusiastic and professional staff gives a positive vibe from check-in to check-out. Rooms are spacious comfortable, clean and well-maintained. Location is excellent with easy walking access to old Ashland and 10 minutes to OSF and Lithia Park. Indoor swimming pool and adjacent patio a big plus. Harold the Hangry (the resident dragon) watches over the breakfast room ( breakfast included). Great value and puts a smile on your face!

It is not a spa so you will have to massage your own tired feet
