Very clean with a lovely small patio off our room, awesome walking location to everything in Ashland, had the coffeemaker and fridge as a nice bonus and bedding was comfortable. We found a lovely Indian restaurant around the corner from the Bards Inn and there are lots of restaurant / dining choices just a block or two away!

Parking can be somewhat challenging and we had to park on street and haul our luggage up the street to the hotel and our room. It’s a quiet safe location tho and the car was fine. I had a Thule rooftop carrier on my suv , so the lot I was hoping to use was full by the time we arrived shortly after 6pm. If you have mobility issues, I would call ahead and ask about parking and keep in mind theater season in the summer is the busiest time so check in as early as you can!

Very friendly staff ( they let us check in 3 hours early, and gave us a different room that was ready ). Quiet room, very good size, clean and comfortable. Great location, 3 minutes from the theater. Good breakfast.

The night lighting didn't come on at the parking lot and, even worse, didn't come on at the stairs to our room. That was not only inconvenient, but dangerous, because it was really dark out there ( no streetlamps ). Also, they didn't have my beloved biscuits and gravy at the breakfast. Not the worst thing in the world, of course, but it's my favorite breakfast at BW and I was looking forward to it 🙈🙈🙈

Quite comfortable. Geared more for families with children than couples. Clean spacious room with comfortable firm mattresses. Location was on main road and a bit noisy, but quieted later at night. Very friendly and helpful staff. I left an item in the room and staff called, then dropped it off at UPS to return it.

Annex where we stayed was utilitarian with no outdoor garden space. We were right across from the laundry facility where all the inn's linens and towels are washed, so it was very busy and lots of work carts right outside our door.

This Ashland area "classic" has been carefully and meticulously maintained and for the rate offered me at this moment, a fine value. The breakfast room, and the breakfast were a very pleasant surprise in these days of the "free breakfast" being the MOST basic value imaginable at most hotels. There are a wide variety of options, and I especially appreciate that there were (microwaveable) hot breakfast sandwiches, coffee cakes, and the option of pourable half and half (versus the abonimable eco-waste of individual creamers). The breakfast room attendant was very helpful and kept the area spotless.

The staff was a bit mixed in "presence" and attitude, and overall were very engaging and responsive. For example, I didn't receive any WiFi info when I checked in. I was also surprised to see that there was NO information in the room about available restaurant delivery options. I am guessing this is because Ashland is an eminently walkable town and the proprietors want to encourage visitors to explore. I arrived late, however as sometimes happens, and I think this info should always be presented. I also struggled a bit with the TV/cable system. A basic guide would be helpful, for example, of which channels provide which category. I finally found this somewhere on the TV by stumbling around for quite some time.

Excellent location 8 minute walk to the theaters. We stayed in the building on the other side of the street from the main motel- same side as the theater's. Lots of shops and places to eat. The room was large and spotless. Nothing I could complain about as far as the room. Will stay here again.

The only thing I could complain about was the parking which isn't really the hotels fault. The trees leave some sap on the whole car and takes a lot of work getting off the windshield.

We have an electric vehicle and it was fantastic being able to charge for a few extra miles overnight,

The room was super stuffy and hot when we arrived. We had to leave and let it cool down before we could comfortably stay inside. If the hotel could turn on the AC even on low when they know someone is arriving in 90 degree heat it would be a great touch. Then....it was extremely loud so we could not sleep with it on, so again it was uncomfortable. Rooms just need an HVAC update.

There were blacktail deer near the hotel every day even though we were essentially downtown. We were within walking distance of a number of good restaurants. (If you like Mexican food try "Agave" restaurant.) Lithia Park is also close by and is a good place to go for a walk. The hotel has two buildings and we were in the one across the street from the main building. We had a deluxe queen room (two queen beds) on the third floor. Even though we overlooked the main street, we were not bothered by the traffic noise, probably because we were on the top floor (we also play whitenoise at night). Walking across the street to the main building for the "free" breakfast was not a problem since there is a traffic light right there to make it easy and safe. Most of the staff seemed super nice.

There is no self-service laundry so we had to go to Henry's Laundromat. The breakfast was typical of hotel chains, nothing special but okay. The beds were okay only. Mine slanted a bit towards the floor on the side closest to the nightstand (probably the side most used). I also found my bed to be a bit too firm, but I think most people would find it okay.

Tiffany at reception was wonderful. I have trouble with stairs and had requested a ground floor room but this information wasn't provided in the notes that she could see. Since I was checking in late (called and let them know) TIffany upgraded me to a vacant first floor suite and even moved her car so I could park in front of the room. She absolutely went above and beyond and provided exceptional customer care.

Nothing. Wonderful and refreshing stay after a very long day of driving.

I had had a rough experience at another location in town and went to stay at the Bard's Inn very last second. Tiffany was absolutely exceptional getting me checked in and making sure I was comfortable. I stayed there for 4 days and everyday I came back to the hotel for the day the room was cleaned and perfectly taken care of.

Not a greeeeaaatttt continental breakfast. That's typically the nature of continental breakfasts, but yeah just not ideal.

The room was very clean and the grounds very accessible. The location was perfect for exploring the town of Ashland and very close to dining of all kinds. We enjoyed our stay!

The breakfast offerings were pretty sparse and not very diverse. The room smelled very strongly of whatever cleaning supplies were used to clean the room so I had to open a window to air it out.
