It was ok

No parking is a terrible hotel experience but we were aware. Entry was very impersonal and creepy with the dial pad hidden behind a plant. Lobby was dark and unfriendly day and night. Front desk was hidden in the shadows and workers could have been more engaged. Weird-ass design elements very carefully mixed badly throughout the room. Wet room style shower and toilet with entrance by door but sink outside the bathroom at other end of room. Unsanitary and uncomfortable 90 degree party sofa with squishy Ottoman and no coffee table (seating for 10???) Desk spaces for 5. Mix of industrial and woodsy and worn-out-night-club. It all seemed clean but hardly made sense. We had an emergency at home and had to check out early and the clerk said ok, took our room number, and didn't process it. Weird

The hotel is excellently located in downtown, near all major transport and walking distance to many major tourist sites. The hotel was also very clean and a generally very comfortable space. If I were to return to Portland, I would stay here again.

I stayed in the hotel for about 8/9 nights. For about 3/4 of those days there was no internet at the hotel. Since there is no concierge I at first had trouble establishing if it was my computer or the hotel that had the problem, and the online concierge was generally unclear and suggesting that the problem was my device. Only later did I learn that it was a hotel issue, however I had been travelling for work and this made my stay more complicated than I had hoped.

This is an older hotel building that has a rather lovely faded elegance. It was spotlessly clean, with very helpful staff members. Everything that I needed was available (hair dryer, iron, toiletries, etc). The continental breakfast was ample with choices in a very nice room where I met some of the other guests. The location is in central Portland, with a movie theater around the corner, and Powell's Bookstore is a block away. There were restaurant options close by. I would like to stay there again.

Black is not my ideal as a decor color, but they pulled it off with pleasant contrasts and spotlessly white linen.

The hotel was a really good value. Comfortable bed. Good hot water. Contactless check-in and out was very convenient. But there is front desk staff at most hours which is nice as I did not expect it. They were also very nice.

There are definitely homeless people and substance users in the area. Sometimes you can hear the noises on the streets at night. I've heard someone yelling threats which woke me up. Pantry is open till 10 am but get in before 9 am or everything is gone. Also we didn't have the option to open the windows in our room.

This hotel felt more like a vacation rental. Check in and out done completely on your own. The room was stocked with quality service items compared to hotels. The old building and aesthetic have its charm. Neat how they modernized many things. Most things are handled on their web portal during your stay.

Not the quietest place. Noise from outside and the building itself. Ear plugs were provided but, I was okay with white noise. Elevator is small and slow. The alternative was to go down loud creeky stairs. No restocks of service items.

Bed very comfortable. Good location. All amenities in room.

Took a while to accept a lot of old style dark wood finishes, including floorboards. Carpeting would have been nice. Clatter noise from air conditioning unit was annoying until I found the control under a shelf to turn it off, on the first morning. Having the sink in the bedroom was a bit different. The very limited breakfast was just about acceptable. Felt like the hotel was used mainly for 1or2 night stopovers booked on spec like a hostel style stay.

Great location! You can see Powell's Books from the room. Comfy room for my daughter and me! Great view! Nice to be able to hop downstairs to Stumptown Roasters in the morning.

I was very disappointed in the breakfast. Two out of my three mornings, there was hardly anything left to eat (only a few Fruit Loops). I got there with at least an hour left in the breakfast service each time too. The one morning with food left, there were yummy overnight oats, but no toppings left nor utensils. Also, keep in mind you will want to park in a garage in the area and that will add $20-25 dollars/night to your budget.

Location was great. LOVED the white noise machine in the room. Very cute decor. Loved the layout of the room. Bed and pillows very comfy. Again, incredible location. Easy to walk so many places and it also felt safe and clean. Would absolutely stay here again!

Wish they would have serviced the room after 2-3 nights. We stayed 4 nights and they never serviced the room. Couldn’t find on their site nor booking.com when that was supposed to happen, if at all. Random: QR codes to restaurants didn’t work.

Loved how easy it was to check in the evening, how the lobby was closed after sundown and you needed to be let in, which happened almost immediately after ringing the bell. It was a great stay, really enjoyed the amenities that were given to us and how well stocked our room was with towels.

The breakfast included was interesting. The overnight oats were delicious, however, aside from that, there wasn’t much breakfast options other than the occasional orange. I wish they had more options other than the overnight oats. The coffee was okay, but it’s what to be expected as hotel coffee. They had two milk alternatives (almond & oat) which I liked having and plenty of sugar alternatives as well. Overall, the breakfast included was slightly disappointing.

Location was perfect! Super central to a lot of shopping and places to eat. Really safe. We had one of the "back" rooms so there was millennial natural light. We didn't mind though - it was cozy and perfect for us! Loved the communal coffee room as well; it had coffee in the mornings, wine glasses, wine buckets, forks etc. all the things you need and it felt extra homey. The front staff was super sweet as well! The lobby was amazing, and the Stumptown coffee that was connected to it. Highly recommend staying here, it really exceeded exceptions in everyday!

Honestly no complaints.
