Nice looking and comfy hotel Airport shuttle for free to Dulles Airports

Not so much to do around the hotel

Nice well-lit room with plenty of electrical outlets, computer USB ports, coffee maker, safe and giant tv. Big windows with blinds that completely blocked or allowed outside views and light. Comfortable bed, nice desk that permitted working with computers and other equipment plugged in there as well. Courtyards with seating outside as well. Plenty of open spaces to socialise or relax after entrance. Friendly, helpful staff also. They also offer off-site, long-term parking for Dulles Airport as well at great rates (with shuttle service to/from airport).

Great location for overnighting before flying out of Dulles (IAD) as it is off readily accessible roads and is 10-15 minutes from the long term parking lots. We enjoy the style and layout of Aloft rooms and the reception/lobby areas. Also, there are a number of restaurants in the area that offer a good selection of foods for meals.

The lobby and bar area needs some sound deadening/absorbing materials to reduce the noise level and allow for conversations at a normal level. The massive number of data centers that have taken over the area.

The property was chosen for value and location near IAD airport. However, the free airport shuttle ran just hourly (vice half-hourly, like most other hotels) and, more importantly, did not start the daily schedule until 7:00 a.m. This is WAY TOO LATE for many of the morning flight times. At a minimum, the shuttle should commence each day at 6:00 a.m. or earlier. When asked about this shuttle issue, the staff was apologetic and polite but indicated that the hotel simply did not have the staff numbers to support earlier or more frequent shuttles (although they had been trying—unsuccessfully, however—to hire more personnel). We were forced to take an UBER and another hotel guest a taxi, both offsetting the value of staying at ALOFT in the first place.

Pool for the kids, nice bar for the parents, tables for bringing in dinner or eating breakfast - everything accounted for. Fun decor so not a boring hotel when you have to stay in.

No milk to buy for our cereals - how about the long life milk packs? But we bought at target for the remainder of our stay..

This was my first experience staying at an Aloft property. I was pleasantly surprised by the simple but well-designed minimalist layout. It was very appealing and comfortable. The bed made sleeping easy and the other room amenities were more than enough to make my stay enjoyable. I look forward to my next visit. Keep up the good work.

There was absolutely nothing not to like! Now I know why my friends like this hotel. I'll be staying in more Alofts in the future.

Walked in the door and the 2 desk staff were smiling, friendly and offered helpful suggestions. 1st impressions go a long way. Room was spacious, bed comfy and good bathroom. Plenty of good food options in vicinity.

I think it is time hotels in US provided washlet toilets as is common in Japan.

Very clean and comfortable, everything was updated and very nice! Great location and Great price!

We dealt with 3 different staff members and only 1 of them was really helpful, one was pretty rude. There was no parking at all and the staff member pretty much just said “welp drive around” the tv didn’t work and the same person stated that it happens and offered no solutions nor seemed to care. We requested late check out which was 1pm and at 12pm they were knocking on the door and called twice to see when we were leaving even though we were down for check out at 1pm

I really liked the checking in process and the people at the desk had very nice personalities and very kind to my kids & myself. I was honestly excited about my visit just off of that because I haven’t had this often

I didn’t like the pool didn’t have towels and my daughter did get sick from the pool water. She got some up her nose and it was a wrap for her poor little snoot.

Everything! Loved the proximity to Starbucks, the updated and spacious room and the little snack bar downstairs. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I was traveling out of Dulles Airport again.

The TV was not working.
