This hotel experience was amazing. I don't know why any discriminating traveler, especially from the west, would stay anywhere else. From the minute we arrived, Tracy and her staff welcomed us so warmly, and with such a high level of service! It was the perfect blend of anticipating our needs and helping us in exactly the way we needed help. In particular, when I asked the hotel to quote the price of a transfer to one of our tours, their price was well lower than the tour operator. I We had been traveling for a while, and needed to do some laundry. The hotel laundry service, is fast, very affordable, and professional. It was a pleasure to have our clean clothes delivered to our room and have confidence that the hotel was taking care of everything. It wasn't until the second night of our stay that we had the chance to enjoy the morning breakfast buffet. The coffee was strong and delicious, the baked goods were as good as a bakery, and the local fruit was perfectly cut into attractive and decorative shapes. Hana at the morning brunch was the highlight of our stay. She was so absolutely positive and attentive, she just put a smile on my face with her energy. In addition to the buffet, the breakfast had great made to order eggs and other local breakfast options. I don't know if I'll be visiting Hanoi again any time soon, but I will miss the exceptional service and clean and comfortable rooms and tasty breakfast from the Emerald Waters Classy.

Breakfast was super yummy, location was also great as it is in the midst of the old town but surprisingly quiet. Originally concerned about noise I had researched a long time to find a hotel room quiet enough for a light sleeper like me and indeed it was super nice. Very little noise at early hours in the morning but I only noticed them because I was awake already, no noise woke me up (I’m really noise sensitive). Staff are incredible, Simon in particular is a super star but everyone was really helpful, polite, and generally added to the positive mood of our holiday. Everyone works really hard in Vietnam, that’s obvious but the staff here don’t even show it, everything seemed effortless for them.

The hotel pictures make the rooms look somewhat more luxurious than they are. A bit of painting here and there would be good, general decor could be nicer. One side of our room was really nice (the side pictures were taken from), then the other side pretty bland and could do with fresh kick of paint. But then again we didn’t go to Hanoi to spend much time in the hotel room :) so all good.

We stayed a total of 3 nights but separated into 1 night and 2 nights here. Loved: - tropical drink and fresh fruits provided during check in - concierge actively volunteered to take our bags and there is always staff around to assist, even after 11pm local time - gave us a free room upgrade during our 2nd stay - allowed us to store our luggages whilst we went on a overnight trip to Halong bay - the room was clean and spacious although could be brighter (warm lighting) - great location within walking distance to the night market and river and the 'bar street' and the 'shoe' street - lots of food options within walking distance - plentiful breakfast buffet spread with fresh fruits, local (pho, noodles) and international options (pastries and egg omelette etc) - soundproof or very well insulated room - couldn't hear the motorbikes outside, be it night or day

Could be improved: - the room lighting is warm lighting which makes it challenging for reading but there are mini reading lights above the bed - the alley in which the hotel is located is a bit narrow so the big tour buses will not be able to enter but they will drop you right outside and it's a short walk in - air con does not automatically turn on when you enter the room and has to be turned on via the remote. - not much of a view (overlooks houses) but I believe you can ask if you have any preferences although we didn't.

Recently, we visited Hanoi and were in Hotel Emerald Waters Classy. We lived an experience that we’d be fair to stand out as a good example of professional behavior and incredible client impact, I’m totally sure that we’ll never forget it. Ms Kin with her professional behavior allowed we could have an incredible experience. We had engaged with another company on a boat trip in Halong Bay for two days which included the services of pick up and drop off in our hotel (Emerald waters classy in Hanoi). The pick-up was agreed between 8 and 8:30 am in the lobby of our hotel, the cruise company had confirmed and given the driver's contact. At 8:30, no one appeared in our hotel, no one answered our calls. Ms Kin (service responsible of Hotel Emerald) asked us about the situation, and when she saw that our driver didn’t take our calls, she took the decision to contact another tour. Another member of her staff took us on a motorcycle until the point of pick-up of another Halong tour (with a different company than us). Thanks to her determination and decision we could enjoy our Halong Bay experience. I believe that her behavior could be labeled as the highest and most incredible performance. My congratulations, everyone would wish to have someone like Ms. Kin on our teams. Thanks a million!

The location of the hotel was amazing, also the staff was friendly and very helpful with further bookings for buses etc. The breakfast is really good, as is the restaurant that is located in the basement of the hotel, really, it is a shame that it wasnt as crowded as it deserved! For breakfast there's also a big selection of fresh fruit, as well as baked goods and vietnamese food. The spa is also recommendable. Overall really good experience

The only downside was that our backup phone went missing during our stay there. We took it out of the safe to put our home sim card in after switching for a local sim card, however, afterwards we forgot to lock it in again and it hasnt been seen since.

(1) The front desk staff told me about a great pho restaurant, and when I went there, it was actually very good. He also gave us detailed information on where to exchange money at a good rate, tourist attractions, etc., and we had a very enjoyable stay! The welcome fruit upon arrival was also a nice touch. (2)I had booked a room with one bed due to a mistake, but they changed it to a twin room. I was very happy that I did not have to pay any additional fees. (3) The breakfast was beautiful to look at and very tasty. (4) The location is good and it is easy to explore the old town. It is also quiet and easy to spend time at night even though it is in the middle of the old town. (5)The room atmosphere was good and the air conditioning worked well, so it was easy to spend time there.

There was nothing bad about it at all!

Pho and fresh juice for breakfast was delicious, helpful service, very spacious and quiet room at a great price, couldn't ask for more. If you're here to see the tourist sights and want a comfortable and quiet spot away from the bustle (but still centrally located), this is it.

Not a criticism, more a thing to be aware of - the location is not always in range of grab services. Not sure if this is because they close off the streets to cars in the evening on Fridays and weekends? If you're just focused on the tourist sights they're all nearby and walkable, or you could walk a few blocks and catch a grab. The hotel helped me call a car when I needed but when getting dropped off I did walk a bit. Again not a problem, just something to consider in the heat/ rainy season.

It was walking distance to many shops and food places, close to the night markets, and a close walk to the lake which was lovely in the evening. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we had a flickering light in our room, when we reported it was fixed the same day while we were out. The choice for breakfast was good.

The bathroom was a little small with a by-folding door, and no night light in the bathroom which is handy, to not wake sleeping partner when attending the bathroom at night.

Our homebase hotel during our 4 weeks holiday in Vietnam. It has a clean, spacious, nicely decorated room with a comfortable bed ( thank you for the room upgrade,discount, free beer on the house and preparing our take out breakfast during our early trip to Sapa).It also has all the amenities a traveller needs. The breakfast buffet was very good to our satisfaction. It has everyday different varieties of Western and Asian food to choose from.Eating at their restaurant was delicious too, to our heart's contentment. The staff are nice, kind, friendly, helpful , respectful and always greeted with a welcoming smile, fresh tropical fruits and cold refreshing drinks , Tony, Kim ( sorry to some of the staff I forgot your names) and most of all to Alex for extending his services/help in arranging our bus ticket to Sapa and taxi in bringing us to the airport, thank you and to all of you, too.It is much appreciated.

Wonderful restaurant with local awards, including European cuisine. Comfortable rooms with a large bed, equipped with all necessities. Kind and helpful staff. Excellent location in the heart of the old quarter. Cosy hotel reception.

The rooms on the last two floors are directly underneath a noisy piece of equipment (possibly a water pump) located on the roof which produced a loud disturbing sound. Upon complaint, the device was turned off for the night to allow us to have a rest. Furthermore, attention to detail in the room interior was lacking. There was dirt on the wall, the night light had ripped off a piece of the wall and wasn’t working, and there was a strange smell of damp in one of the rooms we had booked, which was absorbed by the sheets.
