We have stayed here before because we like Kingston. Abode is very well located and having onsite parking is important. The hotel is quite basic, with minimal amenities in the room, but it is clean and comfortable.

They have an arrangement with a cafe across the street for breakfast for which they provide a voucher. This is very, very basic, just a tea or coffee, and a choice of one hot dish off the cafe's normal breakfast menu. The morning we went across for breakfast, the cafe was understaffed, and service was very patchy, and staff had little or no idea about service or how a clients order a meal, however simple or basic. Juice arrived long after tea and coffee, and the simple main dish we ordered arrive 40 mins. later, so our tea and coffees were cold. Anything extra, such as bacon with eggs, was extra, as was the juice. It is a shame that Abode has to rely on an incompetent provider such as this. We may need to look elsewhere for a future visit.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel during our trip to Canberra. The location is absolutely ideal – all the main attractions are just a short drive away, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby to explore. It made getting around the city so convenient! The highlight for us was the pet-friendly rooms. Traveling with our dog can sometimes be a challenge, but this hotel made it so easy and comfortable. It's such a big plus for anyone traveling with their furry friends! The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and well-maintained. We’ll definitely be staying here again next time we’re in Canberra. Highly recommended!

Clean & convenient location Initially my room tv option to cast using wifi wasn't working. The reception had a guy come in to try & fix it after she tried but it still didn't work. She then tried to tell us there's nothing they could do & we had to accept it but I advised I hadn't seen my son in 3 years & we planned to just chill & watch movies for the night & wanted a room change. After initially saying they had no vacancies for another room, they were finally able to accommodate us & provide a complimentary upgrade. I was a little disappointed at first as it seemed they didn't want to automatically change my room, but thankful in the end that after I expressed my dissatisfaction, they complied.

Spacious room with all the amenities needed for a few days stay - microwave, fridge, dishwasher....... The room was very clean, plenty of towels, pillows, comfortable bed, nice little balcony. The property is located right in the heart of the Kingston restaurant precinct, so many options for meals. There is also a "superbarn" supermarket 100 metres away for groceries. Parliament House and the Royal Australian Mint are both a short drive away.

The internet connection was poor although that was no big issue for me as I have alternative methods to access wi-fi.

It was clean, tidy and had all the amenities you would need for a short stay or a work trip including wifi. Also had a great shower and really comfy bed. Quiet but really convenient location and lots of great options for meals all in a short walk plus a small well stocked supermarket. Really lovely and helpful staff to help me check in and out.

Not a big deal but a/c was on heat when I arrived and the room was over 30° inside and took about 90 minutes to cool down but after that was a really comfortable temperature the rest of my stay.

Close proximity to a supermarket for milk and other groceries, when needed. Within easy walking distance to Manuka oval. An excellent restaurant across the road that had fantastic meals. Right on the corner of a busy intersection, but no road noises from the traffic during the day and the night. We used the washing machine / clothes dryer and was very quiet when working.

There was no streaming services available, the extra cost of underground parking and there was a very limited amount of spaces available. Parking on the street was impossible as they were all 2 hour limited around the apartment building.

The location was very practical - near a grocery store and some restaurants, as well as close to the train station and a bus stop (with buses to the city). The room was spacious and the kitchenette was great to have! Everything was clean and in good condition. It was easy to check-in after-hours.

Probably only a problem for sensitive necks but the pillows were very high. Maybe consider bringing your own (flatter) pillow if you are prone to neck pain.

The room was very quiet, located at the back of the building. The bed was large and comfortable. The location was great, we walked to the art gallery and lots of great restaurants close by. The concierge found us more comfortable pillows for our second night.

There was no concierge to check us in when we arrived at 4:50pm and we had to wait for them to return from a break to be checked in. By this time there was a queue of people waiting to check in and we had to wait 30 minutes. This was frustrating after a long trip.

I arrived late at 12:00 midnight, no reception service at night, no clear instructions whom to call or reach to open the main door ! Please improve that at booking stage. I requested fruit baskets on my children rooms but no food service provided which is so disappointing though easy service and not a great deal and paid by guest ! Please look to it in the future.

Very convenient location with lots of restaurants nearby. Walking distance from Superbarn, which is an additional plus point. There was power outage on the day we were checking out and we were feeling so sorry for the reception staff who had to manage the reception as well as deal with irate customers and making sure the car park boom gates could open to get the cars out and a multitude of other things. We were very impressed with the way the staff member at the reception managed. She was overwhelmed with the whole situation but calmly got us checked out. Hats off to her.

We felt that the hotel must have an emergency plan in place including staffing to manage such unexpected situations.
