Close to where we needed to be. Clean and staff were friendly.

Loud party on the Saturday night. Pillows are either quite hard or incredibly soft. Cost is quite high for one night.

I like the location where it is almost at the city centre of Canberra. There was ample parking space as well if you drive. The front desk staffs were friendly, I would like to commend the staff that helped me check-in. He was especially kind.

The carpet really needs to be steam cleaned. I believe it is filthy and has lots of dust mites in it. My kids were itching everywhere when they sat or played on the carpet. Furnitures and fittings were quite dated. There’s no “do not disturb” or “room service” switch. Security wise, very poor. Anyone can access all levels. There are no additional locks for you to secure your hotel room when you are in it. Room service staff entered my room twice while I was still sleeping. They need to add a manual lock in all rooms.

Reception staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The first room we were given had issues with the AC which was not working - the reception staff sent maintenance ASAP and on finding the issue we were given another room.

The bathroom could definitely be cleaner - you could notice the grout discoloration which makes it appear dirtier than it actually is. Also the shower head is fixed so depending on the shower force - your toilet and floors get sprayed. A flexi hose head mounted on the adjacent wall would have fixed the issue.

Location for the footy. Only a few mins walk to the footy. A new TV since my last visit. Price paid for 2 nights was decent. Was a peaceful location and didn’t hear any noise from outside. Dinner at the restaurant wasn’t bad considering the price.

Gym was small and ancient. Only the cross trainer was working and it looked like something from the 80’s. Didn’t like the shower with its location. You had to try and get past the toilet to get in the shower. Water went everywhere including the toilet. Aircon was either cold or boiling hot. I know all of this is being done up soon and it’s long overdue

The beds were very comfy and my daughter loved the pool. Breakfast had a good selection and the atmosphere was good. Light and airy.

The room was looking a bit "tired". There has obviously been a water issue with the shower as the skirting board in the main room (behind the shower) was badly water damaged (swollen timber, cracked paint, etc) and the carpet had shrunk away from the wall. There was hand soap for the vanity which was good because the body wash pump pack in the shower was empty. There were three people staying in a double room, but only two towels..... My daughter used them both!!! I used the hand towel. 😔 Since my review of the Statesman hotel, last week, I checked out the top of the built-in headboard and it too was covered in a pretty good layer of dust. It must be a thing!

The staff were very helpful and friendly The Hotel was located close to the places we wanted to visit. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.

The method of ordering meals and sitting in the correct area was a shambles. For example, to get table service you order at the bar from a particular menu and sit in a particular spot. To order for an unserviced area (ie no table delivery) in another part of the restaurant - you still order from the bar. They give you two menus , one for each type of ordering (ie serviced area or bar area but the menus look exactly the same (but they are not) and they are given to you on the same board. It did my head in. Also you pay for both at the bar. The breakfast was average to say the least. Bacon was overcooked and cold or undercooked and cold. The young guy who served us was excellent,

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Good food. Good room facilities. Good location. Clean bathroom. Comfortable beds.

Cluttered, not easy to use the wall cupboard. Even though we’ve asked to refresh the room during the day time, it wasn’t done and we had to call and ask the staff to clean. Breakfast buffet was out of food most of the time and staff took a long time to refill although area was nicely designed to supply food. Rooms were bit dusty, and old. Furniture were not positioned well. It was a surprise to us when we were asked to pay for the car park $25 per night.

I liked the cleanliness and tidiness of the room. Well done to Housekeeping team. We loved the location of the hotel as per our need. Overall facility was excellent.

I requested a extra bed for my kid. However, the extra bed (extension from a lounge) was not comfortable to sleep at all. There should have been proper mattress on the extra bed. I could feel the metal frames while lying on the bed. Another thing I did not like was the breakfast service. May be they were understaffed due to Easter holidays, however the service should have been lot better. No one was available to clean the tables even after we requested. We had to wait so long for the plates and coffee cups. The food was not tasty as you would wish to be for the price you paid. Also, the parking fee is bit expensive.

There were no toiletries, all bottles were completely empty. 1 toilet roll for 4 guests. Only 2 towels for 4 guests. Bathroom floods when having a shower, more than 1 bathmat would have been nice considering. Staff at front desk said house keeping would bring us toiletries and towels, after an hour we drove to Cole’s and brought our own NOT EMPRESSED I own a cleaning business on the south coast and I suggest staff using a grout brush and actually scrubbing the mould forming . Wiping over to remove water marks to make it look clean does not clean a bathroom, it needs washing
