The motel managers were fantastic. Friendly and couldn't do enough to make the stay as pleasant as possible. I don't know who the owner is, but he hit the jackpot with the staff he has hired. This is a great country town, the people are friendly and being from Sydney, it's strange when people greet you in the street when you have no idea of who they are. The hotel is animal friendly also, dogs at least. But I was only there for a couple of nights, but I'm sure if the animal is house trained they will have no issue with it. Did I say the managers were fantastic..... well, they were!

Bar's in town close a little too early, but they have great atmosphere, and the bar staff at the Royal were exceptional. True country pub experiences. ATM in one hotel ran out of cash at a couple of locations so tap and go is the way to go. But grab a little cash on you way there just in case.

We were visiting family & had a 4 night stay. It was good for our purposes with a good supermarket a very short walk away. Good off street parking with outside table & chairs available. A quiet accommodation location. Quaint shops & eateries in easy walking distance.

My only complaint was that there was no electricity PowerPoint at the bedside. For people who need to use CPap machines this is a necessity.

It is in a great location. Walking distance to chemist, newsagents, gift shops & supermarket. Also very close to coffee shops & main eateries! Flat area with ample parking. It was very hot & the air con worked well! We had 2 nights so everything was good & easy! It is a quiet location.

The room had all we needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was handy for all we needed.

Nothing much to comment on negatively. It was a little tricky ironing with an iron chained to the wall and the room was very bright in the morning, earlier than we would have liked.

This is the 4th time I have stayed at this Motel, so they must be doing something right. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good location right in the middle of the main street.

the motel was in the town centre so we only to had to walk across the street to coffee shops & bakery. Several hotels were in walking distance.I would definately stay there again.

The parking was a bit crowded, however it was no big problem.

The hosts were very welcoming, check in was easy and quick and my room was just right, clean and comfortable with good aircon as a little cold outside. I was also able to leave my car parked outside later after check out as I had a few things to do in Dungog. Lovely, amenable hosts, I will return. Excellent value!

Beds were very comfortable, air conditioner was quiet, water was hot, close to good cafes and staff were lovely and very helpful.

Old fashioned rooms but it's a country town and regardless of that it was really comfortable. Could do with taller, brighter bedside lamps.

Central location in lovely town. Owners were charming and attentive. Also the owner upgraded my room without extra charge to ensure my full comfort. Fixture and fittings show signs of age but everything clean and tastefully decorated.

Bathroom basin had dripping tap.

Friendly and helpful staff. They allowed us to make use of the room after the usual 10 am departure time to shower and dress following a morning's bike ride. Top marks for that! The WiFi worked well and the motel is positioned right in the heart of town and close to good cafes and a great restaurant.

The room was a little on the small side and the sliding mirror doors which hid the bathroom took a little while to get used to.
