Your best asset is the gentleman at the front desk. A few days before our arrival I needed to change a date and Booking.com did not get back to me. I phoned and the gentleman was EXCELLENT. No bother and happy to assist with the alteration. When we arrived he was so pleasant and lovely and he assisted with breakfast the next day when our family also came and everyone commented on how friendly and welcoming he was to us all. This man needs to be congratulated and recognised for outstanding customer service. A HUGE thank you to him from all of us.

Nothing comes to mind that I would want to change, great just as it is. Only thing, maybe beach towels if you use the pool which we did.

Historic building in excellent condition with a brief and interesting history provided in rooms. Check in was friendly and efficient. Elevator provided for rooms on 1st and 2nd floors. Very comfortable bed and bathroom with view over nearby farm from bedroom window. Good quiet air conditioner. Nice outdoor pool and spa area. Interesting to walk around the building and gardens as many of the historic features of the property have been retained. Onsite restaurant serving a good range of dishes, a little more expensive than a local club or hotel would be but we were happy to stay at the hotel for dinner.

The size of the room and bathroom and the historical features of the property. The bed and pillows were most comfy and it was very quiet so we had an excellent sleep.

There was an adjoining door in our room to the room next door and we could hear the guests talking. The curtains were very stained and falling off the tracks. Also, the air conditioner was so loud we couldn’t use it. There was also no toilet lid which was odd so flushing was very noisy and could be heard outside the bathroom.

We love this place! It’s such a charming old building with a long and interesting history. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, staff are very helpful and friendly, room service is amazing and we love coming back. We have stayed there twice now, and have decided to make it an annual thing! We’ve stayed in two very different parts of the hotel and they were both brilliant in their own ways.

We like the eccentricity of the Monte Pio. Have stayed quite a lot over the years. Breakfast was good, dinner very nice but a little expensive. Very large and comfortable room.

Water leaked out of shower across the bathroom floor. There was no microwave or crockery & cutlery in the room except for a bamboo teaspoon & two mugs. Becoming a bit expensive to stay, unfortunately.

The staff were excellent .. extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and bed warm .. lovely veiw from our room .I would stay there again in a heart beat 💓

There was nothing not to like .. was quiet far enough away but close enough .. public transport at the door ..no complaints about this place.

Was a problem with room booking. Reception guy helped tremendously. Upgraded us at a little extra cost but absolutely worth it! Had the best couple of days. Pool was awesome. The Deco & fixtures of the place were beautiful! I'm originally from Maitland & the Monte Pio was the ultimate place to stay.... I feel it still is!! Love love loved it!!

This hotel is extremely comfortable. The room we had was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very well set out. The breakfast, whilst is wasn't a full buffet as expected we were able to order hot options which was fine. The cost of breakfast was reasonable for the quality.

Not much not to like, especially nothing worth mentioning.

Loved this place - hence the high rating. But is is quirky and you need to like this ambience. The original building was a former convent - so the decor was post federation building mixed with a touch of Franco Cozzo meets Asian fusion. Great diner in the hotel dining room.

Nothing - stayed an extra night. Might be a little noisy as on the Highway but building well back from the road so didnt disturb ones sleep.

Room 137 was large, very comfortable and had a great view of the countryside. The staff were lovely and efficient and we enjoyed a satisfying breakfast. The onsite parking was excellent. We would stay again.
