It was absolutely the best choice for us to stay at Rydges. They were a dream to deal with in every way. All staff were very professional while still very friendly. We loved the position on the waterfront! It was a lovely place to walk from along the boardwalk and around the wharf area. We really loved the outlook from our room, which as we booked, it was City View but we still had a very lovely view across water towards the old wharf and moored boats etc. We loved watching the tugs trundling up & down. It really is such an interesting place. It was a lovely quiet location. We are light sleepers but were not disturbed at all on the 4th floor! I loved the way our sleeping area could be shut off from the living space. There was a tv in the living room and another in the bedroom! The hotel breakfast buffet was great.. so fresh & well presented. The restaurant was fab! All wait staff were delightful & professional. The food was delicious! One night we just had a ‘small plate’ & it was fantastic!
If I had to pick something I thought could be a little better.. it would be that there were no usb outlets but luckily I had packed an adapter so it wasn’t a problem.. it was just a competition to get to the charger first! Also, I personally don’t love a shower over a bath, but it was fine, I just had to be a little extra careful getting in & out. Some people would just love having a bath! I would’ve liked to have had a few cutlery items & perhaps a small plate in the kitchenette for bringing home the odd food item. We did have a good selection of teas provided! I don’t like to be negative though because overall this is a terrific place to stay & we will definitely return!

Great location right by the harbour! Very spacious rooms. King bed (real one not just two singles pushed together) was so comfortable. I loved that lights were able to be fully blocked out in the room!! We arrived late and was still greeted warmly with a smile by the night manager :) Breakfast buffet was such a good way to start the day the next morning with made to order eggs (omelette was so filling!) we only stayed overnight on our way to Port Stephens but would have wanted to stay for longer!
The pressure of the shower wasn’t great but they were piping hot! We did however find it hard to get the water to stay consistently at the desired temperature. My husband found it too hot even when turned basically to ‘cold’ (I was fine but I can withstand quite hot showers usually)

Room was on the road side and wasn't too bad or noisy considering the location. The room needs a little updating. The carpet in the entry to the room was worn through, there was paint off and the coffee table had a chip in it. Breakfast was good, usual buffet style, but to have a speciality coffee was an extra $6.50 after paying $32 already. Where the hotel is located is fantastic, very close to all the esplanade eateries and has the best view of the harbour. The hotel does need more outdoor seating (especially around the pool) and indoor seating area, an area that you can relax in without having to buy a drink or food. We also ate at 350 wharf restaurant which is the restaurant that is used for breakfast. It was nice with good menu options.
Parking is indicated and needs to be clarified that it is only valet at an extra cost of $35 a day. There is alternate parking at Wilsons carpark at $25/day, self park. Or the only other option is on the street with parking metres and are limited to 2hr intervals.

Room was great, great view as promised. Location was great, walking distance from beach has advertised with great surrounding cafes ect,
Found staff to be ignorant at times I required assistance. I stood at the counter for 15mins waiting to be acknowledged when there where 3 staff at the counter. One was a manger, and I was the only customer at reception. They were talking amongst themselves. I don't mind waiting, I understand all people are busy at times, but what annoyed me the most was they all looked at me, then kept talking. One staff member was busy on the phone, and I waited for her to serve me.

Great location, near ocean walk, restaurants, staff were nice
(1) I booked online for ocean front room. I got the street view. (2) EV charging should be free. I hate joining APPS and entering personal details. (3) the shower curtain stinks (4) bed linen smells unwashed. I couldn’t sleep. (5) no hair dryer, I went to bed with wet hair (6) no free biscuits (7) the light at the back of bedroom TV was flashing all night disturbing my sleep. (8) the curtain in my room has fallen and no one fixed it—letting lights in. (9) I waited ages for velvet parking, ended up parking elsewhere myself the first time, the second time ended up waiting in the rain for 10 minutes. (10) there should be chocolate powder to make a drink. Even cheap country motels provides this for free!!!

Lovely water view from room, spacious, clean and modern conveniences, easy access to Honeysuckle and Hunter Street, lovely, friendly and amenable staff and valet very helpful when left everything in car, great facilities, walking distance to everything - I think the pool for was for kids only as it was shallow (waist deep)
Not much only No daily replacements for tea bags - English Breakfast, standard tea bags (not synthetic bags) from our arrival but replacement of mini bar water bottles.

The view from the room was amazing, the hotel itself is lovely and upmarket and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The room was small and run down for the amount you pay. The carpark situation was odd, only offering valet and then not telling guests how much it costs and just billing them. I got a random charge on my account without any reason as well which was super odd. It’s definitely fine for one night stay but the room is stuffy, small and has no cutlery, plates etc which makes it hard if you’re not going out to eat. We just wanted to have some cheese and crackers but there was nothing to cut the cheese with and no plates.. pretty poor.

The location & views. Room & bathroom clean
My husband has coeliac disease & the breakfast staff didn't acknowledge him, ( i had notified beforehand) nor was he told what he could & couldn't have. There were no GF cereals available. & no other choices. He asked & was told they could make him an omelette.the GF toast, he said was nice. I thought the choice of normal spreads for toast was poor, only 3 to choose from. The coffee from the pot was un drinkable. A dressing gown would have been a nice inclusion for the price.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, while I appreciated the overall ambiance and service, I was a bit disappointed with the amenities in my room. After paying a substantial amount for my stay, I expected a higher level of luxury. For instance, it would have been nice to find items like a bathrobe or other thoughtful touches that enhance the experience. Overall, while the hotel has potential, I believe that adding these small luxuries could significantly improve guest satisfaction.

The room was bigger than expected with a separate bedroom, small lounge area, kitchenette & bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and everything we needed was provided. We could open the windows a little which was nice. We had a lovely view of the harbour.
Our room was the last room along a very long corridor. We rang reception in the morning to ask for our car to be ready by a given time. When we went to checkout, nothing had been done about the car although it didn't take very long for them to get our car.
