- Close proximity to CBD, most things are walking distance. - Building is easy to locate. - Friendly and helpful staff. - Awesome lounge/dining/kitchen facilities with all you need kitchen equipment, lots of charging ports in lounge and dining area. - Roof top bar and seating area with wicked views of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and CBD. - Lots of history on site with artifacts and scenery to check out. - Pretty quiet (a little bit of street and hallway noise but it never woke me). - Shared doom had charging port by the bed and also a locker which could be locked if you brought your own lock, locker also had a power point inside. - Linen provided. - All common areas were cleaned and tidy all of the time I was there. - Continental breakfast for $14AUD gave you everything you needed and served from 7am till 10am.
- I was sharing with 3 other girls who all checked in and out and different times. I'm unsure when and how they manage the cleaning of the bathrooms but I was there for 4 days and never saw it be cleaned and it looked like it hadn't been done recently before I arrived. - The bathroom standards weren't very good in general, build up of mold in the shower and on the roof. Dust and hair in harder to reach areas of the bathroom. - Had to ask for toilet paper as we ran out the first day I was there (holds 4 rolls) so this maybe a reflection of how often the bathroom gets cleaned. - One bath mat between 4 people gets very wet and dirty when it's not very clean.

The open concept kitchen It's so great . We can buy our own food and cook. Hotel is Convenient . Just few mins to the cruise terminal , tram..
If we to walk to the hotel , it's quite tough. We have to carry our luggages and walked up quite a few stairs up.. The kitchen is great , But I hope travellers whom use the kitchen, able to clean up the cooker hob, wash up the utensils for others to use. The aircon will be off once we leave our room. And we have to always went to the reception to ask to on the aircon back .

Incredible location, really good communal facilities everywhere. The rooms were the most basic/ dated part but totallt functional. Friendly staff, easy around things, super helpful.
Our 6 dorm we were told there were only 3 of us for the first night, then at 1am a group of 3 very loud and inconsiderate women arrived and rather than trying their best to not disturb went out of their way to be loud and almost declare their arrival. They took over every corner of floor space and had zero care for anyone else, were noisey late at night. (This is at not fault of the YHA - but perhaps direct guidance given to guests arriving so late!)

The property was close to every thing, the rooftop dining and being family friendly was what sold it for me. The hot water and water pressure in the shower was the best. When we left in the mornings there were cute little rainbow reflections on the wall of the void near the ceiling.
The only down side was the limited towels travelling with a kid is not a one towel each situation 😂 no bar fridge in the room was also a bit of a pain but for two days we made it work.

awesome staff, help you wherever they can very good kitchen area with lots of space, lots of storage and lots of utensils free stuff section in kitchen area where you always can grab good stuff very nice common area rooftop terrace and its view is amazing very good location all rooms have private bathroom and a/c
very specific complaint, but the rooms underneath the kitchen area is too noisy breakfast too expensive for what you get (12 AUD for toast, cornflakes, peanutbutter, … no cheese or fruits) ovens would be awesome and also some more smaller cutting knifes a/c procedure sometimes a bit annoying

Very modern, clean. Plenty of facilities on site: rooftop bar with opera house views? Check. Cafe with barista coffee and baked good? Got it. Archeological dig site? They've got you covered. Very friendly staff, Simo at the check in desk in particular was a great help when I arrived. Location is walking distance to trams and trains, also to the opera house and harbour bridge
Just be warned if you are arriving with lots of luggage from the airport: Google will tell you to get off at circular quay and walk. Don't!! It's all uphill and up stairs. Instead get off at wynyard station, from there it's pretty much a flat walk of the same distance

Location is perfect to explore Sydney, right between Circular Quay and Harbour Bridge. If like me, you're not sure whether to stay here or at Central - Circular Quay is the place to be if this is your first time in Sydney and you want to make the most of your stay. The dorm was comfortable enough and there's a great common area with a café, kitchen, workspaces and places to hang out. Good laundry facilities, too. The rooftop is simply fantastic, even though during the day, the opera house view tends to get obstructed by cruise ships.
Next time I'll ask for a key card. I didn't find unlocking doors and elevators with a phone app overly practical.

Aside from the online check in that makes it unsafe, it was great!
the online check in not being followed up by showing ID. A name that is not identifiable as male or female can easily put a male in a female dorm, like it happened in my room. Staff quickly corrected when we complained, but this is not the only incident that can happen by people not having to shown ID. it is a security matter.

The view from the room was great at night. However, when the Cruise ships were in during the day, the view was completely blocked. From about May onwards the Cruise ships would not be in. The location was fabulous during my stay. The only problem was getting to YHA with a heavy suitcase. I had to walk a considerable distance because I could not manage to carry the case down all the steps that led to Circular Quay - no problem wandering around during the day with just a bag. Breakfast was great, very plentiful
As above getting to and from YHA with a heavy suitcase and the Cruise Ships. Neither of these situations are in the control of YHA. I have no complaints (in fact only praise) for the actual accommodation - a fabulous location, but it is quite pricey for a room with a view when that view is blocked.

Great Location and wonderful views from the top floor. Love the archeological display on the ground floor as well as the photos located throughout the building. I enjoyed spending some time reading about the history of the Rocks. I wasn't sure about the idea of an app on my phone as a key to the room but it was actually surprisingly good and easy to use.
My room was a little hot one night but was able to ask for the air-con to be turned on in the room so it was better the next night. The water pressure in the shower wasn't very good and kept changing temperature and pressure constantly.
