The unit was very clean,& comfortable for 3 nights we were there. They were great about giving us info on taxi b4 arrival.They kept our luggage after check out, so we could enjoy the morning out, before we left for the airport.

The sliding door lock was very hard to get locked, therefore we couldn't didn't open it , like we would have liked to. Also, they didn't send an email early enough for us to get, for the code to get our keys. Luckily , another guest opened the box for us to get our key, as the registration was closed when we got there. Didn't find the desk people very friendly, and only there from 9-5. we got there after hours, and never saw anyone at desk, until it was time to leave... we had excursions that left early in the am & came back after the desk hours.

Nice place in a good location. Clean enough and very functional. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Note: the pool has closing hours (9pm cut off) which wasn't mentioned on the website. It closes for fair reasons (rooms back on to it) but just didn't know till we got there. Some basics not supplied. I understand this is self catering and everywhere supplies different things - but a dish sponge, washing up liquid, and cooking oil would have been useful. Maybe even salt and pepper and some washing machine liquid. Some minor maintenance needed (eg. TV remote wouldn't work, had to switch off at the wall to stop it playing constantly). No extraction fan in the bathroom /near the laundry so got hot and wet in the apartment very quickly when using these things.

Very central, clean and quiet, good size apartments ,secure, if driving there’s private gated parking, the facility has a laundry that was good for us in keeping the amount of luggage taken on aircraft down, and lastly but definitely not least the price was very reasonable,

It was a surprise but there was no shampoo or conditioner in the apartment, for the ladies that probably wouldn’t use it but on this trip we only took carry on bags I was depending on having it supplied, it may seem like a frivolous thing but when it wasn’t there it did make a difference and I can see it would cause inconvenience if you got in late and were only staying one or two nights, but that’s it thats really all i could complain about,,

The property was convenient to the Esplanades. The grocery store, Woolworths, was only two blocks away. It was on a fairly quiet street. Our room had a large patio with table and chairs, next to the pool. The pool was small but good for soaking after a busy day.The laundry room was excellent and very clean. And reasonable.

The room could have had a roll of paper towels, face cloths and more than one dish rag and one dish towel for our 5 night visit. There was no reception on weekends. Also, the starter kit could have contained salt and pepper.

Very friendly family hotel in Cairns The hotel is in a very good location, close to CBD and in walking distance to the Esplande's restaurants and pubs. Even if the rooms are a little bit outdated, you get all the facilities and comfort you need for a good holiday. Friendly reception, very good communication, spotless room with air conditioning (they also have a fan), in room laundry, and an extra laundry on the floor, this family hotel has everything you need. They were easily accommodating us with our late arrival and departure. Best accomodation we had so far in Queensland.

The apartment room was clean and the kitchen had all the necessary equipment for cooking. Apartment also had a washing machine and dryer in the room, which we used. There are also communal washing machines and dryers available. Spare pillows were available, if needed. The apartment is an older style with the kitchen being freshened up at some stage. The room reflects the value for money price paid. Towels are available from reception if you go swimming. The pool is small but has a great covered BBQ area. Onsite secure car parking is provided.

The balcony was exceptionally small, you would have to sit sideways to use it. No problem for us as we only opened the sliding doors to let air in. There was some street noise on the first night as we left bedroom windows open, but we didn't notice noise on subsequent nights. Double bed was 2 singles joined together, so you could feel the join when in the middle. Bathroom is basic with a simple shower head, but plenty of hot water and good enough for the job.

The unit itself was spacious enough and the inclusion of wood looking tile on the floor breathed some life into what previously was likely a very dated looking space. The barbecue area and pool was right outside of our room and was an absolute treat to have access to the high foliage around the pool side insured privacy as well as comfort if wanting to have shade versus sun. The staff were very polite and helpful at all times and meeting bruiser the cat who lived there for 10 years and is even on the sign on the front really put a cherry on top.

To be honest, I can’t really think of much. It was a really great stay. I would definitely book there again.

Overall i had a pleasant stay here. It had everything i needed, but being a solo traveler i didn't need much. However here you'll find a microwave, plates, glasses, cutlery, corkscrew, scissors, washing up liquid, clothes washer & dryer, air con, tea & coffee, etc. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town (i'm a slow walker) and there is a Budget/Avis branch just down the road. Plus the ocean water is only a few minutes walk. And also due to my flight to Cairns being very delayed, i arrived way outside of check-in time, but that wasn't a problem and staff gave me prompt instructions for after-hours access.

Nothing major, but there were a couple of things. The mattress in the bedroom are quite firm, which i'm not used too so it was a bit of an adjustment. And the air con unit in the bedroom didn't work quite as well as the one in the living space, but was fine. I found running the ceiling fan for a short while distributed the cool air better.

Cairns was our holiday destination, so we selected Cascades because it is close to the city centre and esplanade (walking distance, we walked it many times). Owner/manager was helpful, service was great, thank you. Off-street safe parking. We were in an upstairs unit, and no noise from the road. Unit was large, comfortable and clean. Kitchen area worked well. Plenty to do in Cairns !!! Then add Port Douglas and may attractions in the area. Cascade Gardens is recommended.

Laundry room was out-of-order (being upgraded), but we could use laundromat about 10 mins walk away.

Perfect location, 5 minutes to the center and esplanade by walk and 10 minutes away from the shopping center. The staff is super nice. The studios are clean, the kitchens have everything you need and the beds are also very comfortable.
