Although we didn't meet her or any other staff during our four day stay, Ange was really helpful and available on the phone when our flights were cancelled and then changed and on other occasions - thanks 👍. The breakfast was really useful and consists of a huge selection of cereals (including gluten free ones) and some bread. The location is within ten minutes walk of the harbour and Salamanca Place etc and there are shops and the Skybus is nearby. The separate private bathroom is large and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

The room (Queen 2) was quite noisy from about 6am as it faces onto Argyle Street. And, while the hallways and eating area were air conditioned, the rooms were very warm (but I note it was possible to use a portable aircon unit by loading it with cool water and ice which we didn't use).

Location: "Fantastic location! Right in the heart of the action, with shopping malls, restaurants, and even paid parking just steps away. It was so easy to explore the city without needing a car." Breakfast: "cereals and bread breakfast included!" Comfort: "Comfy bed"

Parking: "The only hiccup was finding somewhere to park right outside while unloading luggage. The paid parking lot nearby was affordable and a short walk, but it would be ideal if there were a designated drop-off zone for guests"

This is my 3rd time staying at the Argyle Accommodation, and I would stay again in a heartbeat. The rooms are small but very well appointed. Big comfy beds, TV, kettle, etc. The washrooms are down the hall, but totally private / assigned to each room. I left my toiletries all over the place, just like at home, and never worried about sharing this private space. Honestly, the whole place feels like a home. Breakfast was great and convenient. BUT THE BEST THING: Just below the Argyle Accommodation is Pilgrim Coffee, a cute cafe with perhaps the best coffee in Hobart, and it is so close to the Argyle Accommodation, that I could stay on the hotel wifi (free) while enjoying my flat white and fresh pastries downstairs. A huge bonus. Ang and the whole crew are fantastic. Super sweet, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel is at the edge of the CBD with restaurants at your doorstep. The grocery store is literally a 2 minute walk. And if you walk the other way, the Queens Domain, Aquatic Centre, and Botanical Gardens are perhaps a 10 minute walk. The waterfront is just down the hill. I really loved being in such a central spot. Highly recommend.

There can be a bit of street noise from time to time, often from ambulances or truck deliveries nearby. But honestly, it was rare in the middle of the night and didn't affect me much. Some people might be turned off by the walk to the bathrooms... but if you think about it, you often have to walk down the hall to the bathroom when staying with friends. So again, not a big issue.

They let me check in early which was great! The place was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Since I was there right before Christmas, they left some chocolate on my bed, nice gesture!

Walking to the bathroom located down the hallway was always a challenge for me because there was an old man hanging out in the main area and looking at me the whole time. Don’t know if he was the owner or a guest, but as a solo female traveler, I was not comfortable with him watching all my moves. Also, I was not given a tour of the breakfast area upon arrival so I didn’t end up having anything because I didn’t know what was included.

Location is very good, near Skybus and major pickup points. Next to woolworths and many restaurants nearby, easy to find as well Price was very reasonable Bathroom had detached shower, wonderful! Room was very clean and had heater and fan Door and house locks worked well, easy to use Hot water came instantly (so i didnt need to waste much cold water) Common fridge was clean

Please put a lid on the toilet, it is unsanitary when flushing without a lid I didnt know how to turn the heater in the bathroom on but its ok since i came in Nov (not too cold). Please put instruction of how to turn the heater on/off there

I recently had a delightful stay at Argyle Accommodation. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. The building itself exudes a charming ambiance, adding to the overall appeal. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I slept like a baby. The hotel's prime location in the heart of Hobart was a major plus, with shops, cafes, and restaurants just steps away. Despite its central location, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. I would wholeheartedly recommend Argyle Accommodation and look forward to returning in the future.

Everything was great

The staaf was absolutely lovely! When we arrived, we were standing in front of a closed door as we hadn’t received the code for the front door just yet (it was just past check in time). When we called the property, they immediately helped us out and opened the door for us, and we also were able to check in right away. The use of the shared kitchen was a nice extra as we were able to cook our own meals. Having the bathroom separate from the room was also not an issue for us.

Unfortunately, as our room was facing the street, there was quite some noise starting early in the morning. There were also other guests who slammed the door in the middle of the night or early in the morning, which woke us up frequently... this is of course not the owners fault but it did affect our good nights sleep quite a bit.

Great location and great owner - thanks for your assistance Ange! You even gave restaurant recommendations! Very comfy bed and unit was small but not as crammed as others I've been in. Cooling Aircon is via a portable air cooler - I had not used one before so that was fun! :-) It's a perfect backpacker venue where your private bathroom (if booking a queen room - I stayed 8 nights ) is just down the hall. Very good kitchen and breakfast facilities - they even prefer to wash the dishes to ensure they're cleaned properly!

Not a fault of the venue - only one family made enough noise for me to hear them but they were exceptionally loud - a good bang on their door sorted them for the night. Again, not the venue's fault but I thought I'd be OK with a private bathroom - next time I'd select a king or studio room with an ensuite. It's a pain to get dressed to go to the toilet and I almost locked myself out once. :-)

Common Self serve Breakfast counter( Cereal, milk, toaster, microwave etc ), small Common Kitchen ( fridge, oven, sink, utensils) is very handy. Varities of cereal. Plus Woolies in very close proximity. Many takeaways close by. Washing machine, dryer available ( Coin payment self service). Self check in. We were given codes for entrance, just an hour before check in time.

Reception desk is unattended after hours, ( which means pretty much the whole weekend period ). There is a contact number provided though. But we felt awkward to call and ask for simple things ( direction for kitchen, information about breakfast etc ), so we explored ourselves. No parking at the property ( but paid parking available in nearby carpark), which is not great if travelling with kids, elderly and baggage, pram.

Great place to stay, an easy 5 minute walk to the dock and restaurants etc. Very clean room and bathroom. The bathroom is only a 5 metre walk down the hall and you have your own bathroom which has everything we need in it. The room is small but has a Queen bed, TV and Coffee etc. Breakfast food was available and was great selection.

Probably the only slightly negative would be that my room was on the road side so was a little noisy in the early morning. If I was more concerned I would have used earplugs or my trusty White Noise but it wasn't that bad.
