The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable. 1% improvements. A simple hook to hand up the hand towel near the wash basin. And mugs as well as cups for hot drinks

Half hearted efforts to clean the room even though I never requested cleaning and no sign was left out to clean room. Being charged for water I never drank, I merely moved the bottles but cleaning staff replaced them and they went on my final bill. Attempts to charge me for parking for my full stay even though I informed front staff I would be collecting a vehicle later in my stay and then informing front staff of how long I would require parking after obtaining a vehicle

1. The renovated bathroom was amazing and huge. great for the family. 2. Honest hotel and a genuine service. Called us back in Singapore to inform us that they had overcharged us on our credit cards. I cant find these honesty else where. thanks hotel grand chancellor launceston. I will return to stay in this hotel for my next visit.

1. More choices for breakfast and 2. The bathroom could have better seals to block the coldness from within the bathroom and external (very important) as its very cold while bathing. It does not cost much to have a better rubber (latex) seals for the bathroom door. 3. No attendant and porter to assist to move our luggage during our stay. Hopefully we can see a better hotel service next time we returned. till then, happy new year 2025 from the Yip family.

Great central location in town. Rooms were clean. Staff were lovely and the waitstaff were lovely really looking after my mum.

The restaurant was being renovated so brecky was In a back room, definitely not as cute as we were expecting. We got into tasmania at 8:30 at night and dinner options were not available in town as everything was closing, we ordered room service toasties without onion, apparently that's not possible as they are pre made, it's a small complaint, but a toastie should be simple enough to make fresh especially for the price charged. It would be great to see pillow options as the pillows were terrible, the sheets whilst they felt nice they were really noisy as everyone tossed a d turned all night.

My family stayed in the double room on the first floor, while our parents were in the king-sized room on the fifth. The first-floor furnishings are dated, but the room is spacious and has a bathtub, making it ideal for families with children. The fifth floor offers a more modern aesthetic, better suited for teenagers and adults. Both are large and spacious. The dining experience was exceptional. The chefs clearly take great pride in their work, and the food quality was outstanding. Even the children's chicken nuggets were surprisingly gourmet, surpassing many high-end restaurant offerings in Brisbane. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially towards our toddler. They quickly resolved any issues, such as the missing bath plug. For the location this hotel is in, the parking right next door, and the prices available for it, you can't beat it. Will be back here again.

Having a toddler means you bend over a lot and are exposed to places that adults normally wouldn't go, this includes cleaners in the room bathrooms because grim buildups and sub par cleans were common both on level 1 & 5. They just need to pay more attention.

The location is super convenient and the hotel parking was easy to arrange and was affordable. We would stay again if the rate remains competitive. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The toiletries were of high quality. The mattress and linen were also good. Access to a complimentary washing machine and dryer was amazing.

The staff were slow to respond to our request for a third set of tea cups and teaspoon as we booked for 3 adults. There was no offer to assist with luggage and we loaded the trolley and transported it to our room. The cleanliness in the shower tile grout (especially under the accessibility handle) was not good. It's a shame there's no microwave to reheat drinks. It's also a pity there's no spa nor sauna.

+ Luggage storage + Helpful staff + Reliable Internet connection + Spacious, well-constructed room + Fast elevators + Within walking distance to parks, trails, the basin, restaurants, grocery stores, and public transportation

There's a credit card surcharge. This isn't unique to this hotel, as I later found out, but applies everywhere in Australia. The Booking.com reservation states: "The final price shown is the amount you'll pay to the property", but this isn’t accurate if you’re using a credit card. Further down the booking page, there's an "Important information" section that mentions a 1.5% charge when paying with a credit card. This information should be included in the Price section, as booking requires a credit card. I just wish the front desk had told me about it when I checked in. That way, I could have gotten cash before check-out, when they charged the bill.

The hotel was great, clean and tidy, reception staff very helpful, room spotless and very comfortable.

The evening meal I love scallops these were discusting small and shrivelled and luke warm, the cauliflower puree was cold and no taste at all. I thought I would have Tassie scallops but so wrong. I asked what the fish was for fish and chips, was told shark, so much for fresh tassie experience, thank heavens the bowl of chips were hot. Breakfast in morning chicken sausages cold, bacon not fully cooked fat was still white not rendered. So disappointing, I told reception on leaving and still paid for both of my meals

The buffet breakfast was delicious with lots of options to enjoy. Mostly gluten free (bonus for me)and fresh like the food was just cooked. Very good barista coffee. Service by waiting staff were very attentive and friendly when we were there for breakfast or dinner. Staff made our stay very comfortable as nothing was too much trouble. Check in and out was fast and very pleasant by the middle aged lady who we dealt both times. Room was very clean(well done HK). Bed super comfy. Highly recommend this hotel for their food and hospitality.

Better choice for room coffee. Bathroom was a little small.

The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. All were friendly, polite and very helpful, especially at the front desk. Overall the room was clean but dust is collecting along the skirting boards and material is coming off under the lounge chairs. (Room 4019) We had an evacuation on our first night (8/7/24) and didn’t receive any communication about why. Staff members didn’t seem to know what was going on. All was good though and it just added a little excitement to our holiday. Overall I would highly recommend staying here to others. And I loved that when the tv is turned on I get welcomed!

The in-house menu is a little limited. There are no instructions for the tv remote- we found it difficult to get to a TV station. I was not aware that all the hotel info was on the TV!

Stunning old building with grand entrance and yesteryear elegance. Room was lovely, spacious and the bed very comfortable. The check-in was easy and quick.

There was a bottle of water on the bedside that had no mention of if it was complimentary or 'mini bar'. On examination of the room service menu, It was a chargeable item. It should have made a note with it saying $$, not hidden away on a menu I was not going to use. There was also a external spotlight that shone partly into the room. Luckily the curtains were good and I was very tired!
