Liked the size of the room

The first room asigned, the air condition didn't work. A portable one was in the room but cold air come out the front and hot air out the back so the room was too hot. Requested another room the next day, air conditioner worked but the exhaust in the bathroom didn't work. Hope it get fixed.

Family room of 2x Double beds and a single are ideal and nice and roomy, we've had two different rooms on our stays and both are have plenty of room. Renovated bathroom too. Reception is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant could offer more meals and family friendly options etc, it seems like such a waste of lovely space in the main building. Easy parking and gret location for UTAS Stadium and the city.

Restaurant seems very limited and not used to its potential

Great value hotel in a great location. We were there with our two young kids (3.5 and 1.5) and being close to the big park was helpful (they have Japanese Macaque's, though check the 'opening' times to avoid disappointment). The room we had was plenty big enough and parking is also convenient, although we mainly used the stay as a base for day-trips. We didn't eat at the restaurant so can't comment, but there are plenty of food options nearby (try the Bread+Butter Bakery around the corner).

We did ask for housekeeping after our second night, but they either forgot or the cleaners didn't get the message. However it was rectified the next day.

Manager/receptionist was the bomb! Super lovely and made the experience top notch. Was unfortunate that the hot water wasn’t available but these things happen. The manager made up for it! She had to put up with my sneaky trips to the reception to pinch some minties and caramel lollies 😅😆😆🤣 she’s super friendly, just awesome! The restaurant down stairs looked amazing but unfortunately we didn’t have time to dine. Lots of amazing reviews though! It’s very convenient location-wise. Most places we wanted to go to we just walked which took the hassle of parking out.

Nothing that bothered me too much really. Just suggestions here. I would suggest a bit of a dust in places that get missed all the time (top of light switches, lights, pictures, hangings, doors etc. Hubby kept sneezing so it made me see this stuff that’s all. I’d also suggest a separate little heater in addition to the A/C (room 34). I couldn’t seem to turn up the A/C higher than 23 and I’m a frog and am usually on the colder side of things 🤪 Oh and the extra blanket had long hairs all over it 🙈 they might need a wash here and there. Or atleast inspected 😜 Not meaning to be fussy at all! Just trying to make an awesome stay even better for the next peeps 😎

The staff were lovely. The family room was larger than expected with a good sitting area and the bathroom was off a small hallway. I liked the setup and the small kitchenette and supplied plates and cutlery was a good addition. We could walk to a lot of attractions and restaurants. Boags brewery and a great bakery were next door. We would definitely stay here again.

The only thing we had trouble with was the room actually got very warm and the a/c didn't cool it off very well. I imagine though that this was probably a one off and wouldn't normally be an issue in Tassie.

Check in was quick and the staff (Heather) was super friendly and helpful. Our DVD player in the room wasn't working. When reception was contacted, they had a new one in our room within 5 minutes. The spa bath was perfect and fit two large adults. The bed was super comfy and there was a choice of pillows. I can't recommend the staff and room highly enough. There is plenty of off street parking. This is the second time we have stayed here, and we will be back!

There were no face washers in the room, however this was a minor annoyance only.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Launceston Grand Hotel. The reception staff and handyman were always so helpful and committed to customer service! The room itself was very spacious and clean. A very great location and walking distance from many amazing places including the harvest markets. Would definitely recommend this place to stay in Launceston

There was a spider on my son's pillow and he woke up in the middle of the night with a fright about it. We had to inform reception and the place was promptly sprayed while we were out for the day.

From the warm welcome from Jude/Judy, I settled in quickly. From the Front Reception desk to the restaurant staff, I was very well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Jude even helped me out, an hour before opening & on her day off!!!! It had all the amenities I needed & is THE perfect location & so central. You can walk 10-15 mins to anywhere: a supermarket, the VBD, cafes & great restaurants & tourist places of interest. The laundry service was also handy. The information sheets given to me on arrival was very handy. The restaurant quality of food & personal, knowledgeable service was a treat!! I hope Louis gains more recognition for his skill in the wider Launceston area. A lot of character & old world charm in this hotel.👍🏼

Nothing I did not like.☺️ However, it would be handy if the restaurant served breakfast as well as dinner. The cleaners need to maybe check all cutlery & glass ware in the fridge to ensure past tourists haven’t left them dirty.

This was a lovely renovated historic complex with beautiful decor. James was very courteous and helpful. There was free parking and our room had its own allotted space right at the front door (pro tip : ask for Room 48!). The rooms were spacious with lots of thoughtful touches, such as a coffee machine, felt around the front door to help soundproof, ease of check in and check out. There was a spa in the large bathroom. The Commercial hotel just a block away was handy for pub food.

We were there on Saturday afternoon and Sunday so everything was closed. It was hard to find just a nice little Cafe for Sunday brunch within walking distance. Plenty of places around but closed on Sundays. This was the only negative and not the hotel's fault!
