The whole experience was very good and the rooms were well laid out. The bathroom appeared to have been renovated/updated recently. TV was very good with a range of channels etc to watch. We dined in the restaurant on two nights of our stay and were very impressed with the range of food and drinks quality and service. There was a great atmosphere with views over the Launceston Botanical Gardens.

We thought the access to our room from the reception and restaurant area could have been better. There is a lift installed but basically only services the main front building, with lots of stairs after departing the lift. I admit this may only apply to folk such as us (80yo) who find it harder to manage the stairs. If we were to book in the future, and that would be a strong possibility we would ask for a room with-in the main building. Maybe this building layout should be mentioned when booking, but apart from that we were very impressed overall.

Our room was well appointed and beds very comfortable. Pillows were large and comfortable. Room location on top floor certainly exercised our thighs going up and down the stairs! Bathroom was recently renovated and clean. Room cleaned every day and staff did a good job. Only had breakfast twice in dining room. There was only one staff member working in restaurant on our first day there and she was very helpful but she could only do so much with one pair of hands - refilling juice jugs, bread, cutlery, crockery, etc and also clean up tables of used dishes as well as make coffee! We didn't have breakfast there for a couple of mornings but did go the Sunday and same thing, only one staff member! There were empty used plates and cups and cutlery on just about every table in room! Disgusting! The poor girl couldn't keep up with coffee orders, refilling bread tray - there was no raisin bread left at all. Very poorly managed. At one stage a lady seated down for breakfast got up and cleaned up the tables so that people could at least sit at a clean table!! Company policy should ensure at least two people in dining area! Otherwise, location was an easy walk down to restaurants in town centre, but a bit of climb back.

More staff in dining room for breakfast.

Clean, adequately appointed room. Decent cake of soap, good shower. Parking on property. On site dining.

The fluoro light outside room 225 on all night for no purpose - located in the linen cart bay. The blinds and curtains in the room do little to block the light-> restless nights’ sleep. Minor points: breakfast (7:30) items were barely warm. Poached eggs tasted strongly of vinegar. Signage for the hotel needs to be far more prominent if you are advertising/promoting “Hotel Launceston” as a separate entity. I missed the “hotel” when initially driving up to the property. It was all Mercure. Even the reception lacks appropriate signage.

That we had a beautiful king size room, didn't expect 2x TV's but I loved their bathroom mostly - felt luxurious.

Breakfast included for my stay and it was a good range. Short on waitstaff to greet patrons/clear tables/replenish food and all of this in-between making coffee-to-go for people who ordered them.ww arrived I'm guessing before the big early birds who came in for their buffet breakfast too - I saw how unindated the staff member was, I helped clear the tables to at least one table for her to bring to the kitchen when she got a chance since they didn't have a trolley to stay it on. I suggested to reception to have one other staff to take the load off her for future reference as it wouldn't be a good look for the hotel restaurant to have uncleared tables and/or patrons waiting to be seated or collect their coffees. I thought it was unfair on her.

The location was opposite the main park in town. The rates were reasonable and the room was comfortable and spacious. I really loved the ensuite bathroom. The shower design is really cool and I was enjoying the aesthetics. Probably the best ensuite I’ve seen in a hotel so far (in that price range). The staff was really helpful and polite.

It was a Tasmanian public holiday so the restaurant was closed which means no room service. What a bummer. My room windows opens up to a carpark So I keep the windows and curtains closed. Probably best to try and get a room facing the park.

The room has been re-furbished but done very well and the bathroom is modern and spacious. For an overnight stay or if you are going to be sight-seeing all day, the room itself is a reasonable size. The hotel is a short walk to town and has free parking available. The bed was very good and the room was very clean but a big shout out to the staff. They were exceptional - professional but extremely user-friendly after a very long day.

The room I booked is a re-furbished room behind the main hotel which involves walking uphill and outside to reach. There are steps whichever way you go and your suitcase will require to be lifted at some stage.

Comfortable beds. The staff were excellent and very friendly. We even received a call when we failed to check in (a previous call made to the staff regarding the fact our flight was cancelled wasn't passed on). Location is great! Even the minibar prices weren't totally excessive for a change.

Everything was pretty good. I couldn't really say that I fault anything at all. We ate dinner at the restaurant once, it was average I suppose. Other than this - fantastic stay.

convenient location for our activities. Park across the road, close to shops. The inhouse restaurant had great meals and lovely service staff. availability of parking close to room. clean comfortable room with all the amenities we needed. we had requested a twin share room and was assigned one. good beds and we both had good sleep. lovely view from balcony. heater worked well especially when we came in cold and damp one night.

i was travelling with a slightly disabled person, she had a little bit of a struggle using stairs to get up and down to reception & restaurant. (although the lift did help) i thought room was slightly dusty, may have been from the heater but it didnt bother my friend who has quite bad sensitivity and allergies.

Standard room for a 4 star hotel, not to big, nice shower. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and nice. The location is great, right on the park and only a 10 minute walk from city centre. Good WIFI, TV and AC in the room. Laundry services available and very fair prised.

Room was a bit small and the fridge in the room was also small. The breakfast buffet was very underwhelming. The in-house restaurant is OK but not a must go.

Room was very comfortable, shower had good water pressure and temperature. Well stocked mini bar and a good selection of different teas. Convenient location with plenty of parking.

A little bit noisy during the night when people in the other rooms went to the bathroom as the light switch also turns the fan on in the bathrooms automatically & this is really noisy. The water running through the pipes is also very loud when someone turns the shower on in the early hours of the morning.
