The Lola suite was "pretty" and spacious Would recommend the restaurant, nice food and attentive service.

Unfortunately the hotel is adjacent to a level crossing, but they do provide ear plugs.

The hotel and room were stunning - so beautifully decorated and clean. One of my favourite places I've stayed in. We also ate in the restaurant and our dinner was superb. All staff members were fantastic, welcoming and eager to make us comfortable. Our bed was luxurious and we loved the spa!

Our room was directly across from the train station, so unfortunately we were woken regularly throughout the night by boomgate bells, train horns and screeching on the tracks. Ear plugs were provided on the bedside tables which worked for my husband (he was very happy) but not so much for me. Perhaps more glazing on the windows would help. I'm sure the rooms on the other side were very quiet.

I loved the room we stayed in, it was spacious with a comfy bed and larger bathroom. The whole room was furnished tastefully and thoughtfully. There is a restaurant as well, and our dinner/dessert was out of this world good. The staff were attentive and pleasant. Onsite car parking behind a gate, outstanding for your vehicle to be safe. Our whole experience was positive and happy. Highly recommend.

it is a bit close to the train station and the boom gates, we didn't hear anything from our room, so that was a bonus.

I booked this accommodation for my elderly mother (85 years) who was travelling back form the airport after an overseas family wedding and needed a pit stop to rest before continuing her journey home. I quite simply can not rate the staff of this hotel highly enough. The care they took and the lengths they went to in looking after her were quite simply amazing and definitely above and beyond what I could have ever hoped for. By the time my mother arrived she had been travelling for many hours and was absolutely exhausted and experiencing discomfort. The staff were absolute angels and they communicated with me both via phone call and text message assuring me they had my mother safely and comfortably settled. They even walked with her, carrying her luggage the next morning to the depot to ensure she made it safely for her onward journey. The care they took meant the absolute world to my mother but also to me as I was not able to do much more from 4 hours distance away. Absolutely amazing.

We received an upgrade to a two room suite that was exceptional. Decorated with Marimekko fabrics and soothing paintings it was truly luxurious. Each room had a good sized flat screen TV. Bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower, (nice water pressure) was spacious. Ballarat is a smallish town and hotel was within easy walking distance of numerous shop, bars and restaurants. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant named Lola in the hotel. Meal was excellent and service impeccable. Tariff was fairly priced. Free parking was provided for our rental car in a protected lot right behind the hotel.

There were no hand towels in bathroom but that was compensated by overly large fluffy towels and super soft bathrobes. Lighting in sink area inadequate. Only minor issue is that hotel is located right across the street from the local train station. I got nervous when one of the first things my wife and I noticed on the nightstands were pairs of ear plugs. During the night my wife heard a few trains pass by...no whistles though. I did not notice anything since my hearing is not so good.

Spacious old style room, we were given a free upgrade so that was great. Modern bathroom which was a decent size. Comfy, big bed and a quiet area, you can hear occasional trains at the crossing, but this didn't bother us. Location is very good to get to cafes, bars and restaurants on Mair st and surrounding areas. Staff let us stay on after dinner for a bit with our Ballarat family after the restaurant had closed. Nice breakfast, a la carte.

Nothing.

Love the decor, love the bed, love the restaurant. Great products in the bathroom and fridge. Service was great. Breakfast was delicious Location was perfect for me given the location of the conference at the Goods Shed and the easy access to the gallery and station if you needed.

The view from my window was not great and the size of the room a little small, but for my purposes it didn't matter, I was only there one night and didn't need to spend a lot of time in the room. I must say, the size of bathroom was huge and more than made up for the room size.

Loved the beautiful decor and the magnificent building and of course the location. 😍 Nikita and Bridget took wonderful care of us during our stay and in the lead up to our wedding. They couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. They even sent champagne and a beautiful handwritten note to the room when I was getting ready with the makeup artist. Lots of our guests stayed here too. Everyone enjoyed their stay.

Harsh cool bright lighting in the table lamps (not restful)

The bed and shower are of high quality, and the location is hard to beat - right near the train station and a block into town. Staff were very friendly, and helped organise champagne even when the original order was lost (don't respond using Booking.com's email). Good amenities in the room.

The room was smaller than I'd expected, although for some reason the bathroom was bigger. We were only there a night so it was fine, but if staying longer would get a more spacious room. Restaurant was closed when we were there and cafe didn't open before we left, although we live locally and the coffee is very good. Parking is available on-site for free, but we were initially told that we couldn't use it as we hadn't booked directly but through Booking.com (although it wasn't a problem when we arrived, and depending on when you are there there can be plenty of spaces just outside the hotel). A little difficult to work out when we arrived where the reception was as the cafe was closed (go round the back through the parking lot).

Beautiful, spacious rooms that are elegantly decorated with stylish furnishings and great attention to detail. The restaurant was a highlight and we loved the Saturday night set menu on offer. Everything is accessible from this central location. The hotel staff were lovely to deal with when we needed last minute accommodation. They made sure our infant was looked after as well - including lovely touches like having a high chair ready for her at the restaurant. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable.

The only possible issue was the hotel is near to the train station so you can sometimes hear trains, but this is a very minor concern that did not affect our sleep or enjoyment of the room.
