Basic hotel close to the train station. Not the closest to the city center but accessible by foot (20min). Big room with lit of space. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was practical.

A bit weird to have to wait so much to get the lift each time, something needs to be fixed there. Breakfast needs to be improved, very poor ingredient & quality - shame to be in a country like Australia and to get frozen fruits without any taste.

Clean, well sized room, was a very comfortable stay 1 night stay for a good price. Really good breakfast buffet, would recommend!

Forgot to bring toothbrush/toothpaste and couldn't get any until the next day (hotel room and reception doesn't have any).

I thought that this hotel was absolutely excellent. Located just a few minutes walk from Southern Cross train station (also where the airport buses are), this made an excellent base for exploring Melbourne's CBD and surrounding areas. The room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable (and massive for a solo traveller😆), the bathroom was extremely well equipped. It was excellent value for money too, especially with breakfast included. Breakfast was delicious every morning too, with a coffee machine, juices, fruit, cereals, pancakes, and a buffet selection. It's also very useful to have the fridge, microwave and kettle in the room, especially if you're sticking to a budget for other meals. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, from breakfast staff to those on reception. I simply couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

Whilst I enjoyed my stay, there were a couple of things that caught my attention. The lifts were really slow - not a massive issue, but breakfast time could get a bit congested. Additionally, one morning at breakfast there seemed to be some sort of fire drill, without any alarms but all the fire doors were closed, lifts were out of action and the stairwell is behind fire doors too. It wasn't addressed by staff when we eventually got down to breakfast either! Nothing that majorly affected my stay though, if I'm back in Melbourne, I will absolutely return.

We were attending the Australian Open Tennis in January so stayed two nights. The Travelodge was conveniently located very close to Southern Cross Station and in close proximity to Melbourne CBD and the sporting complex including the Tennis Centre. We were able to walk everywhere we went. A buffet breakfast was available for an additional cost - we paid and enjoyed the array of food available. Restaurant facilities were close by for dinner options. The atmosphere was very quiet throughout our stay.

The property (ie signage and dirty windows) looks a little shabby from the outside (but once inside was great!). The twin room beds were typical twin size - we are used to a twin room having larger twin beds - often double bed in size. Mattresses were rather soft. There were no extra pillows or blankets in the room - it’s good to have extras available.

Very close and easy to get to from southern cross station. (Tip: there is a lift right near the channel 9 building, takes you straight down to the street the hotel is on) Check in and out was straightforward. Clean and well maintained, everything worked. Hotel room has cutlery, crockery, fridge, microwave and kettle with tea and coffee Best accessible bathroom we’ve had. Staff were all friendly and nothing was a problem for them. Any request or problem was dealt with friendly and fast. One staff member even went out of his way to tell me about the building across the road when we asked :) Breakfast was great and changed daily. Large range of choice. The hotel felt very safe and we did not hear anything from any other rooms.

For an accessible room, the door to the hotel room was extremely heavy and had clicker to stay open while entering, made exiting the room for someone in a wheelchair very hard. We booked an accessible room and when we got to the room, it wasn’t one but the staff dealt with it instantly , kindly and without hassle and we were moved to an accessible room immediately but concerning if there wasn’t one available. Beds were very firm and pillows were not comfortable. No milk in fridge Hotel lacks facilities, there is nothing to do within the hotel and there is no outside space to utilise.

Travelodge Docklands was a very comfortable stay for me and my friends while we were there for Equitana. The location was good with close access to all public transport to get into the city or the Showgrounds. The room was comfortable with a TV, Microwave, kettle, coffee supply and hair dryer. The bathroom had shampoo & conditioner and soap dispenser available which is handy when you dont want to travel with those things on a short getaway. Bed was comfortable.

I found the bed to be comfortable, but the pillows were ridiculously massive! I asked for a low profile pillow which they happily supplied me with, but it weas still too high for my liking.

We’ve stayed here roughly ten times over the last few years and it’s always our go to! It’s located a short 5 minute walk from southern cross, the staff are always very friendly and the prices are great (plus you don’t have a pesky $100 security fee to worry about). The rooms are always clean and tidy and most have decent few of the streets down below. The receptionist we had was super lovely and even went out of her way to look if there was a different room that was ready so we could check in early!

The only issue this stay was our sink would start to fill if you ran the water for too long but no major issues!

Fantastic location, very close to Southern Cross Station and within the Free Tram Zone. Easy access to CBD, South Wharf etc. using Tram or walk. Plenty of eateries in this area particularly around Southern Cross Station. Easy access to Skybus from Southern Cross Station to the Airports (both Tullamarine and Avalon). The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. We had twin beds, however, were able to join them. The sofa in the room could also turn into a sofa bed. We had a very good complimentary breakfast. It was mostly continental and had good choices. The Reception had great staff who imparted valuable information to move around the area.

An indoor pool or spa would have been fantastic. Otherwise cannot fault it. Aurora Lane is a little bit quiet and feels a little eerie at night

The hotel is in the perfect location to drive in from outer Melbourne, so perfect for people with a car. They use part of the public car park so there is plenty of space to park. Located right behind the southern cross and you can easily get to Tram on burke st by walking past the Southern Cross Station bridge. The room is quite spacious and very clean. Good size of TV with option to Chromecast your show. The staff are polite and very friendly.

Even though the door is quite heavy, you can hear anything from the corridor. I woke up at 3am with people talking and door slamming shut. The pillow they have is quite flat. The breakfast buffet has quite a limited menu and I feel like it needed some veg option like salad.

Excellent location, close to trains, right to the centre of town. All the staff are very hardworking, always ready to help, very friendly, diligent, and efficient. Great breakfast, too! A variety of choices, changing from day to day, catering for any taste and diet. The whole facility is environmental friendly, too.

Couldn't sit on the sofa, how much it was sinking in, too old. For 11 days we only had the room cleaned once and only after I asked (apart everyday from rubbish collection).
