Great location in city centre, great staff, clean kitchen and bathroom, well stocked kitchen and plenty of plugs in the seating area

The lockers are small so you can only fit a cabin size bag in it and plugs in the room are very limited

The common space may not be enough for all guests. Also, electric sockets are not suitably located in a room.

The staff were helpful with requests such as allocating me a lower bunk and providing a printing service. It's a positive to offer free earplugs at reception for anyone who may need to block out train noise from nearby Flinders Station. I was sorry I didn't have the chance to use the rooftop balcony.

The women's bathroom near Room 100 smelt a bit mouldy; like it could do with a thorough clean. It's how bathrooms can smell, if they don't get much air flowing through them (no windows and a secured entrance that's kept closed). The soap dispenser in the left shower was broken. I'm mentioning these points to hopefully get them fixed. The WiFi dropped out intermittently hence my average rating.

I felt safe due to reception operating 24hr and security with swipe card for entering the front door and bathroom area. I chose to have a double room to myself and it was perfect. Adequate power points and lights. Comfortable bed with nice linen and pillows. Towels were provided which is a nice touch. Kitchen looks well equipped and the breakfast provided for a small amount of money looked healthy and a great choice. .Public transport very close but it's also close enough to walk around and I felt safe with all the street lights. I will definitely recommend and I will for sure be staying again. Because I wanted to sit out side and people watch l chose to have breakfast at a little cafe only a few minutes walk.

Nothing that would stop me from staying again. It was a little noisy due to the trains but that's to be expected with the location. I took ear plugs and that solved that problem.

room small, There are not enough electrical sockets. There are only four in the six-person room, and they are too high on the wall to charge. There are no sockets in the public lounge area. It does not require much investment to add a curtain to the lower bed, which is convenient for travelers and avoids disturbing others when the bedside lamp is turned on at night. The room does have a heater and is very good in winter in Melbourne. The blanket is nice. Toilet is sometimes clean and dry but sometimes was wet whole floor.

The pillow is way too soft and thin. The bunk bed is also very shaky. If someone is up and down in the middle of the night will straight wake up by that movement. The power plug is also very limited, and the top bunk bed person has to climb down to charge the stuff. The bed lamp is also so bright and, when turned on at night, will brighten the whole room. It should have some dimmable switch type. Also, the corridor light is too bright, when someone opens the door at night it will light up the whole room.

I just love this YHA so much! Incredible customer service(they will recommend tours upon their own experience with passion, you can tell they are the expert of travelling, and you know you can trust them, I love it so much); Nice bathroom and kitchen(clean, and big enough to do basically anything); Great location(by walking:5mins to southern cross station, 10mins to flinders street, and you are definitely able to walk around the main attractions in city from this YHA); Last but not least, I've met so many nice people in my dorm, I love them. Highly recommend!

If anything, some doors always closed with a loud bang, maybe that should be fixed.

Excellent location and very clean room,nice kitchen with everything you may want and more,bathrooms were very clean and water pressure was excellent,loved the balcony area so relaxing and beautifully decorated .supermarket is close by so you can just walk and enjoyed shopping Value for money and fun

Key cards are pain,as if you checking out at 10am and decide to have a shower at 9, you might get locked out of your room and have to go to reception on your towel I extended another night as I needed to rest and the staff told me I have to checkout at 10am and check back in at 2pm???? As they had to move me to another room and I didn’t have anywhere to stay till 2pm had to cancel my stay which was a shame

Room was easy to find, large commercial kitchen with decent facilities and helpful staff, alot of 'dining room' eating space and lots of power outlets in communal spaces. Also a lot of information about things to do and help booking activities.

The room layout made it impossible to not disturb other guests when leaving/entering, only one shower/bathrooms on my floor that I could find, made it difficult when they were in use. I happily booked a shared bunk room however I was the only English speaking and female in my room. Also didn't really feel like there was "communal mingling space" for meeting people, just dining.

Nice staff, breakfast (the price is not bad, specially if you book in anticipation, considering you can eat as much as you want) and adecuate communal facilities. Satisfying for the price payed taking into account the location, which is very good connected via public transport.

If the shared rooms are full to their capacity, there is not much space to open your suitcase or simply be there. The beds lack a courtain or something that could give the individual some intimacy.
