It is a perfectly appointed home in the middle of one of the most historic places of the world. We really felt like we were locals in Salzburg. Claudia is the perfect person to have as a host, full of knowledge, tips, charm and class She made reservations for us and helped us plan our day. Make no mistake however, this is not a B&B but a beautiful hotel that fells like a home. The building dates from the 13th century and is stunningly restored and furnished. The location is quite unbelievable as it sits at the base of the of old fort. We were lucky to find this place.

The Townhouse Weisses Kreuz was our splurge for our 15-day Christmas Market excursion. We were only 300 meters from the Christmas Market yet in an oasis of our own. The room was spacious and the beds were amazing. The overall decor is spectacularly finished much as it must have looked 300 years ago, yet everything (light switched, bathroom appliances, elevator!) was super modern. The highlight of the stay was Jorge, our host. Aside from being a very friendly man, he was super informative and shared insights that made our stay amazing (like giving us a heads up about the Krampus at the market our first night there, something we probably would have missed; or like suggesting the Triangle when we asked where we might get authentic Austrian cuisine in a casual setting -- we have the BEST schnitzel ever!) The ONLY thing was the price. You pay for what you get and we got it all: great location, great service, wonderful and informative/helpful hosts, super breakfast, amazing bed and bath (yes a bath and a separate shower), etc. And it was the most expensive place we stayed on our 15-day Christmas Market excursion. We splurged and loved it!

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. In addition to great baristas, they gave us perfect tips for touring the city, where to eat, best photo locations, etc. They never missed an opportunity to serve us and make us feel like valued guests. We chose the Townhouse Weisses Kreuz because of its location and because the photos really showcase the stylish presentation of this hotel, but seeing it and experiencing it in person is super impressive. You're staying in art. I could not be more happy with the choice we made to stay at the Townhouse Weisses Kreuz.

This is one of the most amazing places we have stayed in. Perfect location in the old city but quiet enough away from the crowds. Rooms are beautifully decorated, combining the Salzburg tradition with a modern flare. The late night honor system drinks in the breathtaking living room are a totally unexpected plus. And of course, there is Jorg.... a fantastic host that does not miss any detail. We would absolutely recommend it as the place TO stay in Salzburg.

Everything! Every detail in this property is spectacular even down to the light switches. The hosts are beyond helpful and thoughtful. This hotel is so good that we returned here a spontaneous second time during our trip to Austria and spent an additional two nights here after a first night at the beginning of our trip. If you book this hotel, I guarantee you will not be disappointed, you will continue to find things you love. The beds are the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in too. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It really made our trip to Austria special.

If I could find any single one thing, which isn’t even a problem (in fact it would probably ruin the look and feel of the room putting one in) it would have been helpful to have a fridge in the room. However there is a fridge in the lounge / kitchen area where there is also an honesty bar area so like I said, not really a problem.

I don’t even know where to begin! Whoever designed this place, thought of EVERYTHING. Joerg, the manager was not only available anytime from anywhere but exceeded any expectation of care. The location is beyond exceptional. The bed was more comfortable and restoring than my own. That’s a big deal while traveling!

Beautiful, solid, quiet building. Chic. Wonderful helpful staff / owner. Hopped to to find us a suitable last minute dinner reservation and superb walking directions. Only stayed one night and didn't get to use the exquisite lounge floor and take them up on beverages or snacks etc.

Nicely hidden and discreet in appearance; extremely tasteful design and very attentive service; very thought through to make stay as comfortable as possible

Ipad near the toilet, including google search history of previous guests. Just as a recommendation: drinking water in the steam room would be great.

Everything about this property was thoughtfully made for the optimal guest experience. The room was spacious, comfortable, and soothing. Our host, Claudia, was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed.

Incredible location. Calm and quiet and beautifully decorated. A very peaceful place even in the communal area (we were the only people there in the evening!!)
