The location was the best. Our room was lovely. The bed sheets were superb. and we had all the amenities we could ask for. Our checking was first class. We were greeted with a warm towel for our hands and a glass of champagne. Our hostess was absolutely wonderful. Would recommend your hotel in a heart beat.

We had desert in from of the hotel that night. Our table was situated over the man hole in front of the hotel. My chair leg slipped into the hole of the manhole and I fell over. the plate with out dessert fell of the table and also my drink. I had cake on my arm and dress. No one gave me anything to wipe myself with until I asked for a cloth or towel. Also, they did nothing to compensate our bill for the this. I would suggest you do not put a table near this location anymore.

We really enjoyed the cheery atmosphere of this boutique hotel. We especially liked our hotel hostess. She was quirky, charming and working hard to ensure her guests enjoyed their stay. This is a small hotel in a quaint old building absolutely in the center of old Salzburg, so rooms are small but flamboyantly & colourfully decorated and space is at a premium. The bed was very comfortable, the air con worked well, the bathroom, shower and room facilities were generous. Unusually for European hotels, tea & coffee could be made in rooms, and a fridge contained a range of free drinks etc. Windows could be opened above the busy street and breakfast & pleasant dinner could be taken inside or al fresco.

A small point, but the bathroom lighting was very bright & could not be adjusted. Some of the catering staff needed a bit more training. The entrance reception area of the hotel is very cramped, but not really a bothersome problem. It was not clear which lift floor to take to check in.

This place is a very special place… the building being 700 years old has been made into a very romantic hotel right in the City Center of Salzburg, just minutes (walk) away from everything. We did a 24hour Salzburg pass which allowed us to get into all the main attractions while we explored the city. The Hotel itself is amazing we were greeted by our host, who even helped us with walking directions to the hotel, a glass of wine was provide as we entered, and the host gave us so much help on exploring the city…. We had a fabulous time exploring. Breakfast was included and was wonderful! Everything was simply amazing for our stay here!!!!

The hotel is hundreds of years old but was refurbished a few years ago to a high standard. The room was lovely. All rooms are named after famous operas and theatre productions, and styled accordingly with matching wallpaper. Our room, 'Il Trovatore' had access to the roof balcony, which was nice for a pre-breakfast coffee. The rain shower was wonderful. The breakfast is sit-and-be-served, and it is worth it and a welcome treat from standard buffet service elsewhere. It looks like afternoon tea but ticks all the breakfast boxes. Freshly-pressed orange juice and good coffee are a must! The omelettes and bread selection are delicious, along with the fish, meats and cheeses. A tray of sweet treats finishes off the meal and sets you up for the day.

There is nothing bad about the hotel or its amenities. The only sadness was in checking out and saying goodbye to Frau Kolle, who is a wonderful host. She is charming, effervescent, knowledgeable and slightly bonkers in the most endearing way!

Super location! Only one minute walk from central square of cathedral. Unlike the expectation for the old hotel in Europe, all equipments are new and functional including sufficient hot water from shower and bath tab even on the top floor. Small roof balcony from spiral staircases is charming for coffee break and breakfast. Finally Ulrike at reception takes care all for visitors kindly and cheerfully, Super!!!

It was understandably and fairly expensive in the peak season for summer music festival.

I know the hotel is called small and I was expecting that but the room was actually a decent size and very clean and comfortable, the shower was also brilliant. We stopped here two nights and from the moment we arrived the receptionist was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome and showed us where was best to visit for the time we had left for the day and also gave us ideas for our next day which we did. The hotel was great and i would recommend it to any friends we know who would pass by this way also weirdly the hotel smells lovely

We were not big fans of the breakfast, It was ok and a nice size but my wife is thai and not use to cheese and cold cuts.

The receptionist (I wish I had gotten her name) was a true delight! She stored our bags both before and after our stay so we could sightsee. Moreover, she was so warm spirited and just a joy. The hotel itself is funky, charming, and historical all at once. It’s centrally located and made it easy to stop in occasionally before continuing the day. While we did not eat there, the restaurant looked darling. Plus, there were plenty of free refreshments in the hotel room. Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Salzburg!

From the moment that we arrived, I knew that this place would be special! We were very warmly greeted by our host and given pointers for touring as we waited for our rooms to be finished (we had arrived a bit early). After a walk to the Fortress (the funicular was down that day for maintenance), we returned to the hotel and were shown to our lovely rooms (very comfy and well-appointed, with modern furnishings in an old-world building). This hotel is located in the "old town", but it was a quick taxi ride from the bus terminal. Staying here, and being able to wander through the pedestrian zone, made me feel that I was part of Salzburg. The staff was excellent, as was the breakfast. I heartily recommend this hotel and plan to stay even longer my next time!

Perfect location. The receptionist was so warm and welcoming we wanted to move into the property. The room was so comfortable and having air conditioning was an enormous bonus. The natural light in our room was so inviting and added to the beautiful character of the room. This hotel had all of the lovely historical charm without any of the creepy haunted feeling which is hard to find.

Everything was perfect.
