This is a real gem of a place. Filip has created a luxurious yet welcoming and cozy place to stay. Whether you fancy a delicious glass of wine, an amazing breakfast or just a chat with you host this is the perfect place. It is pristine clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to the centre of Bruge but a great little escape outside of the city walls. Filip cannot do enough to make your stay as amazing as it could be. He kindly picked us up from the station and made us feel incredibly welcome. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Only one small detail would be to have water glasses in the room and maybe another pillow or two.

I never leave reviews neither for good nor for bad but there was no possible way that I could go without writing one for Castlesuites, Filip and Ingrid. There are just not enough words to explain our experience at Castlesuites, We have stayed at many: 5 star hotels, boutique hotels, B&B and Air B&B’s all over the world but none compare to this, from the moment we arrived which was very late at night 11:00pm because our flight was delayed. Filip was so kind and waited for us outside so we wouldn’t get lost. We had about 6 pieces of luggage two very huge ones but he didn’t allow my husband to carry not one, he took them all upstairs for us, there was nothing that we needed that he would not do for us. We loved everything about our suite it was absolutely GORGEOUS and spotless clean, the bed was perfect, the ac was amazing when we returned from long hot days of exploring, and the bath was spectacular!!!! The ambiance in the hotel was one of complete relaxation, and the decor was exquisite. We loved how close it was to everything, you could walk to town in 10 minutes, and come back to a beautiful quiet and relaxing atmosphere. When it was our time to go, Filip once again brought all of our luggage downstairs and made us each a delicious capuchino as well as a cup of an amazing wine, we sat down to talk as if we were part of his family…. That to us was priceless, no other 5 star hotel, Boutique Hotel, B&B, or Air B&B have ever made us feel like he did…. We wish we could have stayed longer, saying goodbye was the only bad part about it… If you go to Bruges, you will not find a better place, this is a true gem…..

Filip and his wife offered us a great experience overall. The most memorable thing was how thoughtful and attentive they were. We arrived to Bruges by train and Filip picked us up from the station with his car, and then prepared a welcome drink and some snacks for us. This was a very pleasant surprise and my girlfriend and I were both impressed. Additionally, the requested surprise was already prepared for us in the room (since we were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday), so another bonus point for that. The room itself is spacious and was thoroughly cleaned everyday. I saw the cleaning lady in one of the other rooms and saw that she was dusting off some surfaces that aren't normally within reach of guests - once again, bonus points for attention to detail. The beds are huge and comfortable, we slept very well on them. The pillows were sturdy and thick (that's a good thing since it provides neck support).
I'm going to deduct 1 point from this review because of the bathroom. First of all it's missing a door (a conscious choice by design) and has quite a bit of an echo, so when your partner flushes the toilet in the middle of the night you will probably wake up (at least we did). Secondly there seems to be an issue with the drainage of the bathtub. Once you're done relaxing and let the water drain, it seems to take some time to fully drain the pipes, because we used the separate shower an hour later and the water quickly formed a puddle and overflowed throughout part of the bathroom. If you only use the shower itself that day there are no problems.

I travel a lot and to be honest the majority of service is much the same so I don’t tend to write many reviews. However, with Castelsuites it has been different. I am not much of a writer. I do not think I have the literary skill to describe just how good this hotel is! The room was exceptional. That is a given in a ~€200 a night hotel. However, there needs to be a new word invented for Filip and the level of service he provides. You would struggle to find anywhere in the world, let alone Brugge, that offers the level of service Filip does. It started moments after booking with a friendly WhatsApp to say hello and it continued, even after we’d left. We weren’t sure of when we would check in - no worry to Filip, ‘You are my guest, give me a call when you are an hour away and I’ll collect you from the station and bring you here’. Once, collected and brought to the fantastic property, we were shown around the amazing Barrolo suite - honestly one of the best rooms I’ve had in my life. Then we were treated to so many welcome drinks and food treats, it was amazing. We went for the luxury breakfast which we were concerned was steep at €35 a head but we shouldn’t have been concerned. As with everything else, it was amazing. Fruit, yogurt and compote, fresh meats and cheese, pastries, bacon and egg and seemingly unlimited drinks (coffee, tea, orange juice, water and, of course, Prosecco!). It has been truly amazing here. In Filip’s words ‘we treat you how we’d like to be treated if we came to your house’. To that end Filip never stops. He is there at breakfast and sees you out for the day. He’s there to welcome you back (with a drink and little snack) in the afternoon and he’s there in the evening when the bar is open to the public (Friday thru Sunday). Even after officially ‘checking out’ (we were leaving at 5:30am), I heard a little tap at the door and it was Filip with our favourite bottle of red from during our stay - ‘compliments of the chef!’.
There is literally nothing. I cannot recommend Castelsuites highly enough!

Gorgeous spacious bedroom, with a comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Filip the host was very welcoming and gave us a drink and snack on arrival and was on hand with anything you need. It’s only a 10-15 minute walk into town and you pass some lovely shops and restaurants along the way.
nothing not to like! The shower was perhaps the only slight issue , in that it floods the bathroom but not a massive issue!

We couldn't have picked a better place to spend our long weekend in Bruges. From the moment we booked we were blown away by Filip's friendliness. Upon arrival, Filip showed us to our room and let us get settled, then he invited us down for some complimentary drinks and snacks. Both the drinks and the cured meats / cheeses were lovely, and it gave us a good opportunity to quiz Filip on the local area. Our room was absolutely beautiful. It is set on a split level. On the ground floor is a very large double bed along with a decorative fire place and a small seating area. Then on the upper floor is the bathroom with a toilet, two sinks, and a large shower. Each day our toiliteries were refreshed, and a bottle of wine and chocolates were left for us on our bed. The hotel is set just on the outskirts of the busy area of the city which is perfect. A 2 minute walk and you're in the hustle and bustle of Bruges, but when it's late at night and you're trying to sleep there's not lots of people making noise outside. We were able to park two motorcycles in the parking at the back of the hotel. This is accessed via 2 heavy steel electric gates at the side of the property. The parking is very secure and we had no worries about leaving our motorcycles unchained. We booked our trip 24 hours before depature so we really weren't sure what to expect, but we feel like we hit the jackpot with Castelsuites! We fell in love with Bruges over our long weekend trip, and a big part of that was down to our amazing accomodation and host. The next time we return we will definitely stay at Castelsuites again.

The host was incredible, really knowledgable about Brugge and super friendly welcoming us with a lovely drink and nibbles. Patrick was brilliant. Our room was beautiful.
overall our room was beautiful! The only slight downfall was that although you had to go a small set of stairs to the bathroom there was no door on the bathroom and the window is at waist height (not frosted) right near the toilet so I felt a little exposed

Absolutely everything! You wouldn’t suspect from the sidewalk, but when you step inside the building, a totally surprising experience unfolds. An exquisite interior and a cosy atmosphere is waiting you. Filip is a wonderful host and he is doing an excellent job making the guests feeling welcome and offering a personal experience. We felt pampered and should we go back to Bruges, Castlesuites will definitely be the first choice.

This place was amazing. Just outside the old city wall it's walking distance from everything. The place was incredibly posh and well decorated. It was a small hotel (only 3 rooms) and very quiet and becauseof this there isnt even staff on hand overnight. We ended up having the whole place to ourselves (no other guests or staff on site).

The breakfast was amazing and we could have had more if we wanted. The location was a 10 minute walk from the square/shops etc. Parking was important for me. Very friendly people and we are already planning another visit. Highly recommended.
The only thing that they could have done maybe is have a kettle and Tea and Coffee facilities in the room. Other than that there was noting bad.
