it is a historic property (17th century) that has been renovated, while keeping crucial details, such as exposed beams. it is extremely comfortable.
Two things, it is listed as a B and B—which means Bed and Breakfast. We were informed, though, that breakfast was NOT included. B and B by the name includes breakfast. When we questioned this, we were allowed to get a lovely breakfast, but with an additional cost. I feel as though the marketing is not exactly straightforward. This was not an air B and B —which felt as though it was. However, when we asked, there was breakfast. In addition, the entire road was being excavated and re-paved with granite stones. while this was fascinating to watch, it was noisy and messy to navigate. We were told we were sent an email about construction, but we were not.

I was kindly upgraded to the top floor suite and was delighted to find an absolutely gorgeous room, spacious, comfortable and charming. The decor is beautiful, it's immaculately clean, quiet, good hot shower and the lounge on the ground floor is also so stylish and welcoming. They even have an honesty bar! In the morning, I enjoyed a delightful breakfast with other guests, nespresso coffee, with beautiful flowers and candles. I felt like I was dining in a castle. The staff are very kind and I also rented a bike for 24 hours for 15 euros which was great to explore Bruges. The location is fantastic, only a short walk to the main square, but the neighbourhood streets are so quiet and quaint. It's probably the nicest bnb I have ever stayed at, and exceptional value. My cousin and his husband were staying in a more expensive hotel and visited me and raved about the White a queen in comparison. Don't hesitate to book here.
The only comment would be if you have any mobility issues or large luggage you would struggle with the very very steep traditional stairs but it was fine for me and carry-on. I didn't have a European SIM (IMPOSSIBLE to buy in Belgium) so when I buzzed the door to arrive, no one responded, then I got a voice message telling me to leave a mobile number and they would call me back. That wasn't an option so I just kept buzzing. Eventually someone let me in (I had been sent room number and key instructions). It was a bit frustrating and panicky but worked out ok. Couldn't get tv reception

Loved the historical details of the home (exposed beams, etc.). Just far enough outside the town center, yet walkable to all the things we wanted to see in Bruges. Breakfast was a nice selection of juice, croissants, hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese and a bit of fruit. Our second morning, we had to leave early for our train, and our host put aside a breakfast for us to enjoy before our departure.
This is not a traditional B&B experience. No one greets you upon arrival, nor did we see any staff until breakfast the next morning. For those with any mobility issues, the stairs to the rooms are extremely steep and narrow. Our room was up two flights, and it was a challenge getting our carry on luggage to our room. Also, despite being a stone house, noise from outside was very loud and echoed throughout the streets. In addition, the entire street in front of the B&B and blocks in either direction was being torn up. Workers started their equipment at 6:30 a.m.. Not any fault of the B&B itself, but something to note (we stayed mid-April 2023).

Irina who took great care of us during our stay, always welcoming us with a smile in the morning, to the lovely breakfast she had prepared for us. We stayed in room 1, which was lovely and big, great shower and comfy bed. Great location just 5 minutes walk to the main square and bars.
we had booked our stay more than 6 months in advance, and had been in contact with the owners during the week leading up to our stay and on the day, but were never informed of the work happening outside the B&B. We were quite suprised when making our way to the B&B, that the road it sits on, was a building site, seems they were replacing old pipes, and there was a generator on the road, going 24hours, outside of the building. I would of appreciated a heads up from the owners to let us know that this was the case. We ended up sleeping with the TV on, which helped to silence out the constant hum from the generator. You should let future guests know this is the case, as from the amount of work they were doing, this will be going on for some time.

Lovely place to stay in Bruges, the host gave clear instructions upon arrival and was always quick to answer if we had doubts. Moreover, our room was upgraded last minute from a Deluxe Double Room to a Superior Deluxe Double Room, the whole decoration of the room makes you feel like you're in a luxury hotel and chocolates are placed on the bed too. In the morning, the host also gave us some coffee and cookies before leaving. You also had the opportunity to store your luggage after checkout, which was great. The location is ideal, just 10 min walk from the city center, however (and I know this wasn't the host's fault) the road right in front of it was under reparations, which broke a bit of the aesthetic of the place and commodity a bit if you're traveling with wheeled luggage. Other than that, everything was great, if I ever come back to Bruges for a short trip, I'd definitely come back.

The room is very charming with flowers on the beds. There were some nice touches with candies, toiletries, and water. The was a toilet separate from the shower area which is nice. Shower was large and nice.
We were on the 3rd floor and there are skylights that have no coverings. If you need darkness to sleep in be aware. Also the stairs are spiral and very small. We are in good shape and had no trouble with them. If you have balance issues or have large luggage would recommend a lower floor. The only eggs offered at breakfast were hard boiled.

Very centrally located. The B&B was within walking distance of the historic center of Bruges - less than ten minutes by foot. Parking was easy and available at a nearby parking lot. The room was lovely - perfect size, perfect temperature, had that older charm with modern amenities. I particularly liked the rain faucet in the shower and how bright and airy the room was. Breakfast was amazing. I particularly loved the Christmas sugar cookies and the mini pancakes. Breakfast consisted of croissants with jam, marmalade and Nutella, freshly made mini pancakes, a meat and cheese plate, yogurt and fruit.
I liked everything about my stay here. There is nothing that I did not like.

The White Lion was lovely, Our bedroom up in the loft was big, modern, comfy bed. The stairs are narrow but it is an old building. The dining room was amazing. The large shared dining table was set out with beautiful roses. Excellent choices for breakfast. Easy walking distance into the square etc. Parked car in garage just down the road. Beautiful B&B
The only little thing that I would have liked was to see more of the owners. She was only there at breakfast. But she was very helpful.

The room was beautifully presented and very clean - cleaned and bed-made every day with the lovely and thoughtful added bonus of swan towels, faux flowers, chocolates and Worther’s Originals! The breakfast was gorgeous, so much choice and all freshly made and laid out every morning - delicious pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast with a variety of sweet and savoury toppings E.g. jam, honey, Nutella, ham, salami, cheese. Communication was extremely efficient and helpful with the WhatsApp app and Rana was always so willing to help and ran the show to perfection! The location was perfect - quiet (even with roadworks going on) and 5-10 minute walk to the main square and all main attractions easily accessible by foot. My friend and I loved Bruges and are going to come back to visit again and plan to stay at The White Queen B&B again! Loved our stay here and amazing value!
Nothing!

Being vegan, breakfast at a B&B can be quite challenging but the host did a brilliant job, making sure that I had a lot of choices, the quality and presentation was excellent and that I knew what was / wasn’t vegan. My less vegan husband had a similarly excellent experience. The decor was beautiful, clean and fit for purpose. We really enjoyed how the place looked and felt. Our host was kind, polite and responsive to our needs. Everything that our host could control was excellent.
Our timing could have been better as the road and buildings within it are all undergoing a major upgrade, which will ultimately be fantastic for this B&B and its host and customers but in the meantime there’s unavoidable noise.
