A bit out of the main area of Ghent- but a great location not too far of a walk from the station. Check in was smooth and quick, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was very spacious and tidy, more than big enough for the two of us. Reserving the private pool was quickly done at the counter, and for the small hour (which felt longer than it did- really) it was great to kick back and relax swimming. Breakfast was good.
Wooden floor in the room was a bit noisy in certain spots- but not everywhere. The mounted television was a bit far away from the bed- had to turn the volume up quite a bit just to hear it. The private pool is a bit small, large enough to take a dip and relax in- but it will not be for everybody. No dinner service is available here, but you are allowed to order food and eat it in the dining area whilst you can (optionally) order drinks from the bar.

Located in a prosperous suburb of Ghent this Art Deco building retains many of the original features. The No3 tram stop is a few minutes walk and this gets you to the centre in about 20 minutes at E2.50 per ride. Pay at the card reader on the tram. Our room was large and warm enough [ early March], all the bathroom services worked well. Comfortable large double bed. Friendly staff and parking is available at extra cost on-site. There is a mini-bar in the room and the prices were fair.
The breakfast was not good value for money at E19 p/p. Better to skip breakfast until in the city, where there are plenty of alternatives. Parking, ,city tax, and breakfast for two on one day added over E65 to the bill. [ two nights in total.] The room and public areas were very dimly lit.

The hotel is a charming building with a small garden. It is relatively close to the center of Ghent. It has been very accessible with a car since it has parking and easy to reach the highway since we also toured Brussels and Bruges. The room was very spacious, with a separate kitchen, a big bathroom, and the main area divided into two sections; one with the double bed and the other with 2 single beds for our daughters. The breakfast is rich enough for all of us to find what we like. The stuff were very friendly and took care to every need we had. We also used the laundry services, which was very fast and quite cheap. And last but not least, we enjoyed the pool and sauna which was a great way to relaxin the evening. To sum up, it felt like home away from home. We would definitely love to come back again.

We had a fault with the car and the company I was registered with in the UK, AA European Breakdown Cover, after 2 days had NOT managed to resolve the problem. The receptionist (Hilke) managed to organise an alternative company (as she is fluent in Dutch (native), Flemish (Belgian) and English). The alternative company, Touring.be, depatched a mechanic, diagnosed and fixed the problem in just over an hour. The hotel is rather dated in appearnce (1930s "art-deco" which migh not be to everybody's taste) but the staff were excellent, in particular Hilke.

Breakfast was a regular European standard, but with fresh (warm) bread and local specialities (esp. for children - the Nederland chocolate raisins!). Very tasty and in nice setting of a stylish villa. It is also nice to use a swimming pool with is included in the price (for an hour) and can be reserved for the room users exclusively. This place is a stylish (art deco) villa, which is a pleasure to stay at the beatiful place. Very helpful staff. A lot of helpful information about the city can be reached throught them.
This is a stylish villa from early XXth century, so you should not expect that it is fully prepared for handicapped people - there is a lot of stairs. At breakfast it might be very crowdy in the eating room (we were on Saturday).

Fantastic welcome, we were given a map & the receptionist pointed out very helpful information for us. The beds were so comfortable, I slept very well. Breakfast was amazing, I have allergies & daughter a vegetarian, they went above & beyond in providing a lot of choice. Feels so homely, all the staff were super friendly & helpful. Beautiful hotel, loved the Art Deco/Nouveau features. You can even borrow books. Being able to have a stretch out in the pool after a long day travelling was lovely, really nice temperature. Also a plus that you have it privately for an hour. Great location, close to a beautiful park & the museums.
Only one thing I personally didn't like was the brand of tea in the bedroom. Other than that, I could not find fault.

We recently enjoyed a stay at Hotel Orion Gent with our family. The staff was incredibly responsive, promptly answering any questions we had before and during our visit. The hotel's location in the Krijgslaan area offered a peaceful residential setting while remaining close to the city center and Ghent's St. Peter's Railway Station. Trams and buses were readily available, making it easy to explore the heart of Ghent. We enjoyed both tram rides (lines 3 and 4) and walks into town. Our family room on the ground floor comfortably accommodated all four of us. We were delighted to find a well-equipped kitchenette with a hob, fridge, microwave, pans, cutlery, and crockery. This provided the perfect solution for preparing meals and snacks at our convenience. The small dining table and sofas created a comfortable space to share meals and play games. The long side table offered valuable extra surface area, a thoughtful touch in a hotel room. Essential amenities like toiletries, a hairdryer, and a safe were all provided. Hotel Orion Gent caters beautifully to families. Our daughter was particularly charmed by Tombie, the resident parrot. The indoor pool was a guaranteed hit with the kids, and we all appreciated the sauna as a potential relaxation option after exploring Ghent. While we didn't get the chance to use the sauna due to timing, it was a welcome amenity. The breakfast buffet was delicious, offering a wide variety to satisfy both adults and children. The hotel staff truly deserve special recognition. Their kindness and helpfulness went above and beyond. An elderly receptionist, in particular, made us feel incredibly welcome with her sweet nature. She even went the extra mile to find an adapter for us when our own wouldn't work. Her patience and detailed explanations about reaching the city center using trams were invaluable.
Everything exceeded our expectations. So can't think of anything to complain.

Beautifully exterior, interior facilities, large family room, large comfortable sofa and beds. I really liked the room. I also liked the free parking inside the hotel and the use of the private swimming pool. Above all, the staff working at the concierge were super friendly. The man told us about different ways to get into the city, driving and precautions for driving downtown, and even parking lots, which was a huge help to us that day.
Unfortunately, the footsteps from upstairs can be heard very loudly from the ceiling. Maybe my family wasn't so lucky that day. Wi-Fi often did not work in the room.

the family room is enormous, definitely recommend it if you appreciate staying away at arm's length from your fellow travelers. An easy and cheap taxi ride away from the city center and plenty of parking on site. Everything was great and above our expectations.
There was a bit of confusion about the use/reservation system of the pool. Just beware you might need to reserve a slot if you want to use the spa. Nothing to do with the hotel but good: the Hotel is in a fancy part of Ghent behind the Sint-Pieters Station, the nearby area is pretty cool but walking to the center might feel a bit far for some (30-40 min) and there isn't that much interesting on the way into the center, so the walk can also start feeling a bit boring. If you don't feel like walking loads I would recommend taking a taxi

Friendliness of staff; very helpful. Happy to take time to explain travel arrangements in area. Hotel was roomy, comfortable, quiet. Excellent off-street parking arrangements. Air conditioned room was a godsend in what turned out to be one of the hottest weeks in Belgium. Small private pool session (sauna also available) was a nice "bonus"! Lack of height restrictions for parking was a big selling point for us.
Nothing really; all was as you'd expect (for this price point).
