Tonkin Inn is located in the north end of Jasper and was a very nice stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was okay and had a portable air conditioner which was great but a little noisy on the hot days we had in July. The beds have the comforter inside a sheet sack which we liked .

Parking is a first come first serve situation so you may not be close to your room. The carpets could do with an upgrade and a vent fan in the bathroom would help.

Swimming pool and hot tub were dirty and polluted. Even we found insects and earthworms in it. Even one of the laundry machine was not working.

The front desk staff were great. We arrived a bit earlier than expected (roads were good)...they allowed us to check in as the room happened to be ready. The staff on check out were just as friendly and accommodating. We only used the outdoor hot tub (not pool or gym) but really enjoyed it. The area was clean. Our room was very warm even when we turned the thermostat down (I had seen others saying same in reviews and was somewhat prepared for the possibility). We chose not to call the front desk or maintenance...just opened the door occasionally to allow cool outside air into the room. The tv was quite big and had many channels. Our room had a kitchen- it was fine for what we needed. The beds were comfortable and lots of pillows. It was great value for the money and we would absolutely come back.

The property is definitely getting older as with all properties in Jasper. Could use a little bit of love on the little things...tighten door handles, check fridge door, check stove burners to make sure they all work... All in all, however, we were comfortable for the weekend.

Motel-style with each room entering directly from the outside, so I didn't know if it would be nice, but what a pleasant surprise at how clean and stylish the space was! A sense of humour in the little instructional signs and even a welcome sign for our pet with a dog dish and treat! Microwaves were available delivered to rooms for anyone who asked, and when we did request one, it was delivered right away. Very reasonably priced. Very clean with fresh soft towels and mini toiletries and everything worked well.

the bathroom had a SEPARATE switch for the fan & the light.....you know, the fan noise doesn't come on all the times you turn the light on.....there was a good selection of towels (Brianna (Bridgett!!) was very pleasant & friendly at the front desk.....Enjoyed an excellent meal at the Whiskey Jack restaurant & appreciated the 10% discount ticket

the squeeky floor might be disturbing to the folks below ( we were in 219) & gees, the rooms need a more modern toilet...short & wee just doesn't cut it anymore...sorry, I know that would be a big expense upgrading those throughout the property!!

Nice place to stay to explore the Rockies around Jasper; The town center is 10 away by foot. Although located by the road, it was not noisy at all. The room was big and had everything we needed. There is a small hot tub at the hotel which is usually very crowded in the summer.

The (southern-faced) room got heated up quite a lot during daytime so that it was very hot in our bedroom. There a mobile AC but it wasn't able to cool down the entire apartment.

Very clean, free hot drinks at reception, good location, customer focused staff, free parking, quiet during our stay, and accommodates pets & children.

The rooms are on the small side, but sufficient. One could say it is a bit dated, although it’s clearly been renovated/updated. It’s a Motel style which isn’t necessarily bad, but unclear when I booked.

Tonquin is nice because it's got the indoor and outdoor hot tubs. The showers have nice pressure and flow, and it was easy to find parking near the room. Overall it was a comfortable stay.

The rooms are pretty basic. There were no glasses or mugs to use in the room during our stay - only takeaway coffee cups, no microwave (however they did say they'd bring one upon request), just very minimal.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was a decent size and had a coffee machine/fridge. There was a large balcony as well. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good and the wash basin was in the room rather than the bathroom, so it had more light for using the mirror. I also used the pool (which was great and it had a separate jacuzzi), I didn't use the hot tub as it was too warm outside to need it! The inn is 5 - 10 mins walk from the centre of the town. I could always find parking on site.

The toilet didn't always flush properly. Nothing else negative to say!

After a few 'not so good experiences' around Banff and Jasper, Tonquin Inn actually surprised us. Most places in the region do not allow you an early check-in even if they have rooms available and Tonquin was a surprise exception. They gave us a room when we checked with them around 1:30 pm, ready to be refused. We were on level 3, with a spacious room and a sunny balcony.

It is not in downtown Jasper, but if you are driving, it does not really matter, as it is a 5 minutes drive away from the town centre.
