Perfect location for exploring Banff Lake Louise and Jasper in a chill remote natural setting. Fresh ground coffee was a nice touch in the jacuzzi king room we had in the main lodge.

Train tracks run right next to the property and there where at least a dozen freight trains a day. They provided a French press coffee maker and mugs, but room service never cleaned them or provided dish soap for us to clean them ourselves, even after requesting some at the front desk. Real creamers instead of whiteners would have been welcomed.

The property is beautiful in a remote setting along a creek on the Bow Valley Parkway. Everything you needed for comfort was in the room or available at the front desk. Staff were friendly and helpful and had good suggestions about the area. We enjoyed the in room jacuzzi tub, sauna, steam room and the outdoor firepit. The rooms were larger than most similar places I have stayed at in the area and very clean and comfortable beds.

The property is in a remote area but there is no restaurant on site. This meant we always had to drive somewhere in the dark at night and we had some sketchy weather so it was not fun being worried about being stranded on the road with little traffic.

Nestled in the woods it offer a peaceful stay, surrounded by nature. The design in warm and inviting, staff was very friendly.

Room service leaves a lot to be desired. The trash cans are not emptied regularly, once or twice the floor was not clean. The room has a coffee/ tea station but the dishes are left in the room unattended. The expectation is that guests will wash dishes but there were no soap or a sponge (I did asked the front desk but there was no resolution). The bathroom was not clean daily (or at all). I think they just make the bed but that too was untidy. To get fresh towels you need to ask at the front desk. For the price point of this facility this is not up to caliber with the service they offer.

Nice spot close to Lake Louise. We loved the size of our suite, jacuzzi inside and fireplace (I wish it was with wood and not gas). Everything looked so beautiful and cozy. Nice touch by the staff handing over coffee (very good one btw). There's a guest book to sign inside the room, we had a great time reading it and of course we left our comment there as well. Overall it was a short but great stay

Noise coming from neighbors upstairs. We could hear everything. I would choose a cabin next time if you don't want to bother with others people noise. There is a train track close by (be advised. This was not a problem for us but might bother some people). Would be nice to have cutlery in our suite.

Beautiful complex in a quiet location. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a woody cozy room with a jacuzzi inside. Everything was comfortable and clean. In the complex there are a few chairs and fire pits by the creek where you can sit, enjoy the views and make a fire. Be prepared to not have cellular phone service but the WiFi worked quite well. However the best thing to do is to relax and enjoy the views, it is a great nature experience. Be also prepared to manage your own food, as there is no restaurant on site, or to drive 15 min by car to Lake Louise Village. The price is expensive but all the places around Lake Louise area are and for me the experience was worth it. Great chances for bear and elk sighting in the area, therefore you need to be careful.

As things to improve your upper level room can be a bit noisy and the room temperature was too warm for us and was not possible to lower so we decided to sleep with the window opened.

I can confidently give this Basecamp a 4.8/5 again. This is my second stay, and Basecamp fulfills all your fantasies of a Rocky Mountain cabin. During the day, you can hike in the surrounding forests, in the early morning, you can hear the gentle sound of the stream, and at night, you can gaze at the brilliant starry sky (remember to bring bear spray). The location is incredibly convenient. There's nothing to complain about with Basecamp. However, the missing 0.2 points are because when we arrived, we forgot to bring salt. I asked the front desk, and they said they didn’t have any. But I believe they must have it—I don’t believe that the staff working here don’t use salt. We offered to buy some, but they still said no. Okay, once we went inside, I found that there actually was salt next to the kitchen. So, don't you know what’s in the cabins where you work? Whether they had salt wasn’t that important; what matters is the attitude. Once again, the scenery and environment were amazing.

staff and attitude.

Cabin with a loft for two people, so plenty of room. Cooking facilities and a wood fireplace. A complimentary small bag of coffee. Decent bathroom with a good shower. A bit of a deck with chairs. Free laundry! 15 Minute drive to Lake Louise. A workout room and sauna are available. Not particularly crowded while we were there.

If the weather had been more pleasant, it would have been nicer to have had a cabin with a view of the river. The kitchenette was furnished with a reasonable set of cookware, but a few things were missing, like a lid to the frying pan. The cutlery was well hidden in a cupboard under the sink.

Cabin in the woods vibe. Interior is amazingly decorated with updated amenities. We loved our jacuzzi, comfortable king sized bed, the fireplace, and the wooden rocking chair! Our favorite part was the fire pits by the river with kindling, matches and firewood all provided for free! Gives you a camping feel without any of the discomfort! WiFi can be spotty since it’s deep in the woods, but the property does a great job of notifying you ahead of time and setting up the expectation.

Nothing — spotty WiFi but to be expected for location in the woods

The magical feel of the place! It is an ideal off the beaten path!

I was a bit disappointed that we’d booked the lodge which is classified as a hotel. The restaurant on the property is closed and no cutlery and crockery is provided in the room to eat the food you need to purchase from the cafe. It was a little frustrating. I was also annoyed that we went to get food from the cafe at reception and the manager on duty told me she had turned the oven off at 5pm to heat the ready made meals that guests would have for dinner.

Pure luxury, this place was a treasure we will remember forever. Cabin absolutely beautiful with everything catered for, even a record player! Firepits were fantastic and the smell of coffee in reception was perfect! We would love to return one day, 3 nights was not long enough! Location great, we avoided the main spots for tourists as they were so busy but canmore and emerald lake were great trips.

If stopping for groceries, avoid lake louise and head to banff for more variety. Lake louise grocery prices were criminal, wish we had known before arriving.
