The whole staff team was really great, they are always there to help and were really friendly. Especially the two girls i met on front desk, Katie and Sophie, who were really nice and gave me good tips around Banff. Also the 4 guys that were doing maintenance were amazing, Brad, Harry, Jackson and Max! The whole housekeeping team were also really nice and efficent, especially Daisy that I got to chat with. The rooms were always clean, same thing for the kitchen and the common room. I met the two managers who were also really nice, Abigail and Katie, they were really helpful and welcoming! I recommend the Samesun to anyone travelling to Banff.

Good vibes, nice hostel and the bed is good.

i slept in room 207 and there is only 1 bathroom we shared with 14 people. I would try to have a seperate toilet in there, it took a long time to use the toilet when people were showering. Or let the staff at the reception explain that there is more toilets somewhere else. some people ‘live’ in the hostel and put there stuff everywhere which makes it a bit messy. i would prefer curtains at the bed.

The location is great and has a private parking area underneath the hostel. The overall atmosphere is that of a homie comfort level that allows for genuine relaxation. Rooms are fairly quiet from ambient noise for the hallways and outside noise. Location is walking distance from downtown and farmer's market.

The shower didn't drain well, so it flood as you're getting clean. My roommates (who mostly comprised of live-in staff) were fairly noisy and were up late into the night at time. They'd also leave the room's window open throughout my stay that on my last night I was bitten by mosquitos during my sleep. The parking lot has limited space, so you will need to get whatever empty spot that becomes available.

My time at Samesun was nothing short of amazing. They really make you feel at home. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and their service is top-notch. Angel in particular was very helpful and dedicated in making sure my experience was the best possible. She told me about the many things one can do in Banff on a budget and answered my many many questions with kindness. Let’s talk about accommodations. Nothing speaks more dearly to my heart than a communal kitchen that is well organized, clean and has plenty of kitchenware. Bonus points: it is super sunny. Extra bonus points: all the knives are sharp! They have a laundry service, which is excellent, and their bar offers plenty of fun activities. My room was quiet and there was plenty of space for everyone to coexist. Hands down one of my best hostel experiences!

Staff kindly upgraded us from 14-bed mixed dorm to 8-bed female dorm simply because there were vacancies and we didn’t even request for it, grateful!! Location was great, a short nice stroll from Banff town. Sink and bathroom available in the room.

The rooms were not too clean. Ventilation was lacking in the room, it’s still if you close the balcony door and cold if you open it (in October). Beds were not allocated so you got to figure which ones were taken and which ones were not, someone came in later claiming she took the empty bed earlier.

Great spot, easy walk onto the main strip. Lots of people you can meet. Bar/restaurant on site with great options, nightly deals and happy hour. Not sure if we got an employee room or if they are all the same, but the room was so spacious, clean and the bathroom is the best I've ever seen in a hostel!

Breakfast should have a longer serve time for people getting up and out early or sleeping in. Breakfast was sub par, could definitely offer more options and staff could be more aware of when things are running low. Price was high for one bed and one night, would be tough to do multiple nights here and stay on a budget. Still competitive to everything nearby though!

The room was tidy, and the bed was really comfortable. You are given a bath towel, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Additionally, each bed has a charging port, mini fan and a little lamp. I was pleased that they were able to maintain the cleanliness of the bathroom because I am very picky about it. A smiley face welcomes you from the front desk employees, who are helpful. When we inquire about bus timetables and gondola opening/closing times, they claim to be unaware of them, but we are nevertheless appreciative of the effort they made to look them up online and give us the information we needed. Ladies, you are wonderful.

Breakfast is served starting at 8:00 am, so you might be able to skip it if you have a tour at 8:30 am.

The beaver bar. Music bingo with Jacko and Henry is one of the highlights of my whole stay. Phenomenal! Highly recommend. The rest of the staff also super friendly Always a smile from Declan at the front desk. Daisy, Tara and Tristan always keep the rooms super clean, making the hostel feel like a home away from home.

The knifes in the kitchen are blunt. But all things considered this is a minor issue.

Location was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. There was even a fire in the room. Charging points and lights with every bunk. Bathroom was in the room with lovely hot shower. Great common room. Friendly lively bar with food. Free breakfast and coffee in the morning. One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Highly recommend if your in Banff.

If I were to be picky I'd say 1 cooker and 1 sink in the shared kitchen is not enough. The kitchen was locked until 7am and the breakfast was after 8. So if you are an early riser it might be a bit of a nuisance. But there is coffee available at the garage next door. Perhaps put a coffee vending machine of some kind there? But that's a small thing. Overall it was great.
