Perfect hotel location. Great to have El Toro beside it for breakfast & dinner. Friendly helpful staff. Great size room ( superior 2 queen) Great to have a mini kitchen in the room too! Add in a toaster, & it would be perfect! Would also be helpful to post on your website that no kitchenware is provided (cutlery, plates, dishes etc) Otherwise would be very happy to stay here again.

Room 235 very dark, overlooking back entrance to restaurant, & set back from rest of building, so no view at all. All the carpets in public areas & bedrooms are very worn, & need replacing. Love this hotel, but would not like this particular room again.

I stayed with my two daughters aged 21 & 12 for 4 nights. We had a car & the underground car park was handy with easy access into the hotel. Although we walked in to town every evening for dinner which was approx 10-15mins. We also used the complimentary buses to get about. On checking in, the reception staff were welcoming & knowledgeable about the area. We even booked a couple of excursions through them. Our room was huge, we certainly had enough space although the bathroom was a bit on the small side. It was handy that our room had a little kitchen area with a sink & a fridge. The beds were very comfy & we all slept well. We didn't eat in the hotel but did use the little spa bath a couple of times which was nice if not a little bit dated. There is an easy to use & reasonably priced laundrette. The hotel did seem to cater for all holiday-goers as there was plenty of space for storing snow gear too.

I think it's pretty dated. But I wouldn't say that's a flaw as such. Just maybe don't expect a swanky plush up to date hotel!! Everything felt a bit like it belonged in the 1970s, but again that's not necessarily a criticism!! I think it was expensive for what it was but that is Banff in August.

October 2024

We spent 2 nights in room 145 in September 2024. Room 145 was very quiet (apart from someone slamming a door at 7am every morning!!) We had a large room, 2 very comfortable queen beds, on ground floor with outside patio area. We used the hot tub/sauna. Staff are very friendly and arranged our tickets for the Sulphur Mountain Gondola. Coffee in the room was very tasty. Great Rocky Mountain toiletries are provided (all good but especially loved the conditioner). The showers were good and plenty of towels/face flannels. Very low underground car park (there is an outside one if your vehicle is too high). But once parked up we didn’t need to drive as the inn provided Roam Transit transport pass for 3 days which took us everywhere we wanted to be. It's great to be so near to Downtown Banff without being too near all the noise from bars and restaurants. You can eat at El Torero which is accessed from inside the hotel lobby. We has breakfast both mornings which was very tasty and great service.

The bath in the room was a jet bath but I didn't use it because I didn't like the look of the jets. But we used the hot tub in the spa area which was OK.

I was pleasantly surprised with the complimentary 3 day bus passes! I was happy with the free parking. Very convenient! The location is perfect! Front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy.

The building is looking old and tired - especially the carpets. For the $700 we paid for 1 night I would've liked to see it updated and fresh. I was disappointed that the restaurant downstairs didnt answer their phone and didnt do room service - even tho they had a special button on the room phone. That was misleading. I was unaware of any breakfast being offered with the price of the room. Even a continental breakfast would have softened the blow of the cost.

Well located in Banff. Available parking was a bonus as we had a car and was one reason we selected Irwin's. Room was great, Very spacious and quiet. Had a small fridge micro wave and a coffee maker. Small sink in the kitchenette area was really convenient. The beds were very comfortable (which was great as we don't like hard beds which we find in a lot of places). Everything was accurately as described on booking, com Staff were always very helpful. Irwin's has a lot of additional facilitates {hot tub etc...) which unfortunately we didn't have time to use.

Everything was really good. Perhaps the carpets could eventually do with an upgrade but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Room 331...excellent location at front of hotel. Large room, small kitchen area, big comfy beds. Great hotel location, only a short walk to town and surrounded by restaurants. Especially liked that El Toro restaurant is beside Irwins. Excellent for breakfast & dinner, & 15% discount for dinner if staying at hotel.

All carpets in public areas & bedroom very worn, & threadbare in places. Kitchen area could do with a toaster, & would be helpful to indicate on booking sites that no kitchenware is provided...no cutlery, plates, dishes etc.

We had a very spacious room for the three of us. The beds were very comfortable & the air conditioning was very powerful. The bathroom was also recently refurbished & had a very nice shower, which included local toiletries which was a nice touch. The complimentary bus tickets were also a nice touch & the staff were very helpful!

The carpet in our room was quite old and grubby. The carpet throughout the hotel could also do with some updating. The car park was also very tight if you had a larger car.

The location was fantastic. The hotel was very clean. Staff was really fantastic. They were very helpful. Gave us the information we needed. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. I definitely would say that the friendly staff made a huge difference. A bonus of having a 3 day public bus pass.

The room was really tiny. It was supposedly a 2 bedroom suite. Yes, it was a 2 bedroom suite but I believe a double queen room in any hotel is much bigger than that. I also feel that the bed was not comfortable.

Access and parking were excellent. Proximity to the main street and all the shops and restaurants was superb. The main room had ample space and beds and pillows were very comfortable. Windows opened to allow for good air circulation. Staff were friendly and very helpful. All in all a very good place to stay.

Cable TV system was confusing, the guide did not align with the actual programming available. This made it necessary to step through all of the stations to determine where a specific program was playing. Bathroom was small and sink/mirror was located outside the bathroom, adjacent to the main area.

The location was perfect and quiet, with less tour busses pulling in and out all day like some hotels closer to the town center. The Roam bus from the gondola dropped us off right across the street. The size of the rooms (Superior 2 Bedroom Suite 2 Queen) were more than adequate for 4 people. Very clean and comfortable beds. We were able to park our pickup truck behind the hotel.

Upon check-in, the card reader was malfunctioning, which caused three pending holds for our three night stay (each with an additional $100 damage deposit) which triggered a fraud alert with my CC company that I had to call and clear up. Overall, the hotel was very clean but the carpets were worn and had many stains.
