Our unit was spacious and attractive. There was plenty of lounge space outside of rooms. The grounds are nicely kept and it would be easy to spend lots of time sitting outside soaking up the view. The location is very convenient to Nanaimo airport, but set in the countryside. Unfortunately, we had an early flight so could not take advantage of the regular breakfast. However, the hostess went out of her way to make up a continental breakfast for us that we could eat early in the morning before departure. A delightful English Pub called The Crow & Gate is 10 minutes away along picturesque country roads.

The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was eggs and sausage and various bread, highlighted by the homemade kiwi jam and yogurt, which was really great. the property has a kiwi grove and is large enough to enjoy walking around. Its also on the bay, so there is some shoreline to explore. Room was big, somewhat plain, but had everything we needed including a really nice king size bed and a private balcony. Would definitely stay there again.

Location was exceptional and the ambiance of the lodge and facilities was peaceful and serene. It met all the needs of our family members: ages 70, 70, 38, 36, 32, 5, 4 and 11 months.

A small thing, but the shower faucet “whistled” while the water was running. Something the proprietors are aware of and will attend to, we were told. A simple annoyance: nothing that spoiled our comfort or overall stay.

Beautiful setting on treed land with multiple trails to enjoy the garden and ocean views. Quiet, peaceful, serene. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast in an attractive dining room. Comfortable beds and large bedroom with balcony and view.

A v minor point but more USB and electric outlets would be helpful for charging various devices such as phones, hearing aids, iPads and so on.

My friends and I like the location and looking out over the grove of kiwi bushes out towards the ocean. I was so excited that we saw a whole herd of Roosevelt Elk on our drive from Kiwi Cove Lodge to The Crow and Gate pub (which is a delicious and atmospheric place to eat)! The Kiwi Cove Lodge honey is also delicious. We enjoyed being so close to Chemainus and Ladysmith and yet also away from the business of town centers. Chemainus dinner and theatre was top notch!

It would have been more convenient to have had a small fridge in our room like when we last stayed. There was a fridge located down the hall which was useful but I had to keep running down the hall at 7am to get cream for my coffee.

The breakfast was excellent. The property is quite secluded and peaceful. A great place to go for a relaxing stay. No dogs barking and no kids during the week. Not a party place, no restaurant for lunch and dinner, no bar.

The bed was way too soft for us, not sure if it’s the same in all the rooms but ours was extremely soft and hard on our backs.

Very idyllic property that will help you reconnect with yourself and the beautiful world around you. Just a short drive from restaurants, stores, and Transfer Beach park which offers many fun activities in the summer including live music, food trucks, and the fireworks.

The bathrooms are a little outdated and the shower was squeaky.

We especially loved the big property with beautiful kiwi field and waterfront nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the balcony to this beautiful view straight from our room. Staff was also very helpful and friendly to give us recommendations.

The dining/breakfast room was right below our room, so we heard people talking early during the breakfast. That did not allow us to sleep in, but this is the only minor minus.

Tranquil setting , beautiful spacious lodge and room with a relaxed atmosphere.Such a treat to walk through the kiwi trees & sample some delicious fruit .We we’re made to feel at home right away and appreciated a supper recommendation in a nearby pub/ restaurant which was excellent.Breakfast was superb .

Leaving ! I wish we had time to stay longer .

This was a lovely little hotel, set on the most beautiful spot. Our balcony looked out over the Kiwi trees and out to the bay. The property is many acres with clear and easy trails past a pond, the farm and the coast.

There is a fridge in the room (great!) but we couldn't find a wine opener or cutlery. It would be nice if there was some available after hours.
