Bed very comfortable. Staff very helpful. We were upgraded to a King room due to availability and it was a very good size.

There was no electric jug for making tea - had to use the microwave. There was no milk in the fridge for the tea - in New Zealand milk is always provided. The room was a bit hot at night.

Super location in a trendy, lively part of Vancouver. I actually could see the harbor and bay from my room window. Numerous interesting restaurants and shops within a block or two. Short walk to the Hudson Bay shoreline park. Since the price was lower than most places, I was expecting a fairly rundown hotel, but was pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition and cleanliness. The staff was friendly and helpful. For example, my friend rode her bike over to see me, and they said it was fine for her to store it in my room while we walked around town.

The room was very small for having two king-size beds. Not much room to move around in. The bed was too soft for my taste (I had requested a hard bed). The room was pretty noisy as it faced the street and had old 1960's single pane windows.

The location was great and the bus stop was right out the front. Easy to get to on public transport from airpprt. The staff were lovely and helpful and gave us a room like we requested on one of the higher floors looking at the ocean side. The room was clean and the bed mattress was so comfortable. We love how it had a microwave and fridge.

It was very noisy at night time when trying to sleep with the trucks and cars going past in the street, you could hear everything going on in the street and the drunk people that came outside from the bar and the music. There was a little mouse running around in the room but it didn't bother us it just ran back into the window panel when it saw us.

Excellent location, comfortable bed and pillows. Nice staff. Just bring some earplugs if your facing the street. You get quite a bit of ocean view if your high enogh up, we were on the fourth floor.

Very noisy if you face Davie St. as there is a bar below the rooms and ;lots of foot traffic. It is not sound proof! Also you could hear people talking in the hall. The AC was noisy and kept turniing off with a message to change the filter. There was no fan in the bathroom, so the room was steamy . We opted ato stay in this room , because we had a decent ocean view....a trade off of sorts.

The location is excellent on English Bay,very close to the beach and sea walk to Stanley park. Second beach pool is close by and there are lots of restaurants with beach views. Transit buses stop outside hotel and are able to take you downtown and to the SkyTrain stations. Check in was smooth and we arrived early and were able to pre check in and have our bags put in the room. Breakfast was delicious. A choice of meal and drink from the restaurant bar 'the Park' just below hotel. Room was clean and comfy and had a balcony onto Davie with some sea views

Decor and lifts were a little dated

We have stayed at The BW Sands many times. It’s consistently clean, comfortable and the staff are always helpful.

We stayed at the hotel as a “staycation” and were looking forward to a quiet uninterrupted sleep. Unfortunately, the neighbouring room was up at 5 am, speaking very loudly to one another, playing music etc while they got ready in their rooms. It was an adjoining room with the door locked, but the noise sounded like it was directly in our room. As well, we could smell their perfume and sprays while laying in bed, as there was an inche and a half gap under the adjoining door. Usually we don’t have an issue with noise in this hotel, but the rooms are not sound proof at all.

It's in a great location, very close to English Bay and in walking distance of numerous places to eat. The room was large, clean and well appointed. The view from the room was also very good, the only negative is that to see the sea (the reason why we booked) you have to stand on the balcony and look hard right. There is living accommodation opposite so having the net curtains open for any length of time was not really very practical for the people opposite nor us in the hotel room. We ate there on two nights and found the food to be lovely - unfortunately, the same could not be said for one of the breakfast options - see below.

For breakfast on our last day, I ordered granola with yoghurt and fruit. The bowl was very shallow, the yogurt overly sweet and the fruit appeared to be one large strawberry cut into six pieces. As an aside, there is very little healthy choice of breakfast on the menu.

The location was incredible with the beach outside, great restaurants and bus station in front of the hotel. The hotel staff were also great and very polite.

The property is older but the room/bathroom were renovated and very clean. We did find the property to experience quite a lot of road noise eg sirens, cars, people on the street > so if you’re a light sleeper something to be aware of

The location is very good. It wasn't loud overall, though our room faced the busy street so might be something to consider during the busy seasons. The room was warm - a bit too warm for my taste and though I turned the thermostat down, couldn't get it below 75F - I sleep at 68F. Otherwise no issues. Wish parking was included but I understand it is not.

Comfy beds...great shower... location is excellent...clean...and the price was great but I did book quite a few months ahead

Sadly the front desk told me that breakfast wasn't included when I asked, even though it does state that on your website.. so I skipped out. Also just the noise really...I could hear the guy across from me sometimes. The walls are pretty thin. Also I'm pretty sure house keeping knocked on my door even though I had the do not disturb sign on. The vehicle traffic and people walking on the street was also quite noisy...but to be expected with the location.
