The room itself was very clean, we did, as ususal, inspect it thoroughly. The view was great, as we could see the fishing boats, the ocean in one direction and the city skyline in the distance. you can tell they tried to pay attention to details in the room. The bed was comfortable. Overall I would recommend it and would stay again. It is basic but the Oceanview rooms are so unique perched above a working fishing wharf.
Entry into stairwell, the carpet looked kinda worn/dirty. It's probably not the best floor covering for the stairs and difficult to keep fresh looking. There was a smell, mothballs? Maybe some cleaner? I'm not sure but we wanted to air out the room and kept a window open for sleeping. To the owners, I would recommend better coffee supplies in the room other than the "brown coffee" powder drink. For your decor, it could be improved easily. Stay will real nova scotia photos, folkart and crafts to make it authentic maritime experience. Not just random ocean themed items from the dollar store.

Wonderful location in the quaint area of Eastern Passge. Next door is a Pizza & more takeout that has the best food you'll find anywhere! This fishing village has a boardwalk along the beach and a wharf-side strip of gift stores. The rooms at the Inn are clean & comfortable with amazing staff & owners. There are only two things I would point out for those who it might affect; 2 sets of stairs to the rooms and no air conditioning. This did not bother us at all, but it could be difficult for others. It is a short drive to both Dartmouth & Halifax. We love this Inn !

Perfect East Coast charm! Eastern Passage is a lovely location just outside/beside Dartmouth/Halifax with fisher families having maintained this community for generations. The Inn is located in the center of the community and directly overlooks the wharf from your balcony. The rooms are lovely and the owners are in the process of getting air-conditioning installed. But who needs A/C when you can open all the windows and fall asleep to the sea breeze! Great restaurant/bar within walking distance as well as multiple giftshops along a walkway. A sand dune boardwalk is also just outside the Inn. The owners are very kind and hospitable with continental breakfast included.

One of tge cleanest places I've stayed. Friendly and helpful staff. Remote check in and out. Awesome location right next to beach park and restaurants shops at the cove. Walk or take convenient bus everywhere.
Not a big deal to me, but could be for others that there is no sound protection. You hear everything everyone does or says. All Inn guests were respectful of quiet hours, but the neighboring properties were lowd late at night. Again no problem for me but a heads up for others.

The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was good with a very nice bath. The balcony was lovely with a gorgeous view over the little harbour. The host provided lots of information and sightseeing options nearby. There were plenty of places close by to get a good meal. The breakfast was adequate but a wider choice of cereal and fruit would have been good. The self check in was smooth. the parking was a bit of a squeeze but fine. The tea and coffee on tap was nice but a shame it was only available while reception was open.
it seemed perfectly clean throughout except for the entry and stairs which needed good vacuum and dust to be up to the same standard as the rest of the Inn. it was further from central Halifax than we realised, but that was entirely our fault.

The room (and the rest of the inn) was totally charming - easily the best decorated of the 5 hotels we stayed at on our vacation. There were lots of helpful touches, like blown-up maps on the wall that illustrated where restaurants and sites were located in relation to the hotel. All the essentials were within a short walk of the hotel and it was easy to get downtown via public transit. The staff went above and beyond by helping us with our laundry - after we got it started in the washing machine, they transferred it to the dryer and brought it up to our room while we were out enjoying Canada Day festivities.

Great Inn style accommodations in a convenient location in the Eastern Passage. The owners take great care of their property and make sure their guests feel welcome. Very picturesque small fishing village with friendly people and a great atmosphere. The rooms are cozy but have a the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I actually preferred this Inn to a larger hotel that we stayed at earlier in our visit to the Halifax/Dartmouth area. If you go make sure you get a room with a balcony facing the cove/inlet so you can watch the boats come and go and enjoy the amazing sunsets.
Our stay was too short….lol!

The room was comfortable and cosy. I stayed an extra night due to weather and the management was very helpful with extra water etc.
Two small things: 1) the coffee provided is a pre-sweetened mix -- tasty but much too sugary for me. It would be nice to have a couple of tea bags or some unsugared coffee. 2) the body wash provided was for exfoliation -- not good for my skin and bad for the environment. I would prefer a plain body wash or a simple bar of soap.

Great location close to Fisherman's Cove. Could see the boats going out. Loved walking along the boardwalk and visiting the little shops. People were very friendly and the atmosphere so relaxing.
There really wasn't anything we were unsatisfied with about our stay. It was just as we expected. There was just one cosmetic thing about the door to the room next to us was that the weatherstripping on the bottom kept rubbing on the floor every time it opened and closed which we heard at night. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Hosts, Dave and Jenny are working hard to develop their accommodation on the beautiful little harbourfront. They were very pleasant, and always happy to offer assistance. Our top floor balcony room was comfortable and the quaint shops within walking distance provided some excellent amenities. If you like to run, the road to the point was fairly flat and enjoyable.
The accommodation needs a little updating and the sound does travel a bit within the building.
