The readiness of the facility

The location is very convenient because it's centric, but I noticed a rather big amount of homeless people tailgating to the hotel

Lovely people at the reception. It's also 24 hours which is great. I felt very secure. You cannot beat the location! So close to Rue Ste Catherine, you can walk to Old Montreal, Rue St Denis, Place Des Arts, and other cool areas. Loved it! Montreal is very safe for women travelling solo. I was walking all over the downtown area and felt very safe. But since you are downtown, like a lot of major cities, especially in this day and age, there are transients, people with mental health issues and addictions, especially as you walk from the eastern part of Ste Catherine. They don't really bother you. I felt totally fine. But still be aware of your surroundings. The hostel has a nice little café on the main floor with a variety of items, like muffins, yoghurt, coffee, and other items. They also create a to go breakfast with the items. No smoothies:( . There is a kitchen area with dishes, cutlery, microwave, and seating. You can make your own food there or bring in food to eat. There is also a nice bar downstairs with comedy, karaoke, and other events. They also have daily planned activities for guests, which is really nice. The hostel is very clean! I loved my room. It was a Twin with a mini fridge, television, desk, two beds. The bed was comfy. The shower was huge! The hot water was nice and hot. Great pressure. I especially loved the electric kettle provided in my room! I drink tea, so that was a very nice bonus. One thing I couldn't figure out was how to change the temperature of the air conditioner. It was really cold in the room. I will just ask, next time. I wore a sweater, and once I crawled into bed, I was fine. Next time, I will take more advantage of the amenities and activities offered. They have spas and rooftop terrace. The hostel is pricier than most, but they offer so much, it is worth it. I did not want to leave!!

A friendly staff, a very cosy bed (lower shelf), clean and warm, comfortable and clean kitchen. It is quiet in the night. A really great stay for its price. The hostel has its own identity.

A lamp fell down during the night, so I switched the bed. Upper shelf was really uncomfortable. You have much less space above, and the ladder is not ergonomic - the upper stair is too far above, and the lower as well. The toilet paper is hard to use. To access your room, you have to go through a building, then again through a street - why couldn't you open the exit gate for entrance? The kitchen lacks salt, sugar and oil - the basics the people traveling do not usually have.

This place offers a great value! The style and cleanliness of M Montreal was great and exceeded our expectations. The amenities like the hot tubs and hostel bar were fun to use. Every staff member we encountered was nice and helpful. The location was close to the Metro which made getting around the city a breeze.

I don't really like feather pillows, so that was a negative for me. The other slight negative was St Catherine St had a lot of people begging on it, and you really couldn't avoid it when getting to and from the hostel. The actual street the hostel was on was fine, though.

Location is great - steps to St. Catherine, which has tons of restaurants, shops, etc, near both the metro and the 747, if you need to get to the airport. Staff were great, room setup is great - really loved the amount of thought put into the bed setup with the enclosed area having hanger space, outlet, small shelves for things like leaving a phone, and the curtains for privacy. The 4bed female dorm I was in also had some reasonably comfortable seating and a table. I didn't spend much time in the common space, but it looked comfy!

I think the only drawback was that the bed itself wasn't that comfortable. Basically a relatively thin mattress on a solid base.

staffs are super friendly. location is perfect that you could walk 5mins and take green and orange line metro. many buses line nearby. i like the dorm room that every bed has curtain and 2 hangers. dorm room are spacious and have room to pack your bags or luggage. one locker under beds. shared kitchen has plenty of seats. AC could be chill so if you feel cold, ask for extra blankets!

if you stayed in 12pro dorm, there is only one bathroom and not every floor has public restrooms or shower rooms. better bring your own hairdryer since you need to use ID to borrow one.

Clean and comfortable bunks in the dorm rooms, and I love that the dorms are separated into smaller rooms so even in a 12 bed room you’re only sharing a space with three others. Great interactions with helpful front desk staff. Year-round hot tub access is an incredible perk (that I unfortunately didn’t use as it rained every day) that’s just one example of value for money.

The location is a little sketchy and if the parking garage is full, street parking is very hard to come by. There’s a relatively inexpensive garage about two blocks away at the IGA that I would recommend to others.

Fantastic location and loved the quick <5 min walk to the metro station, though there are unhoused people staying nearby. Lots of shops and eateries within a short walking distance and easy access to a bike rental station. Four separate lounge spaces, including a rooftop! Clean, modern, spacious kitchen to cook. For the bed, having curtains, shelves, clothing hangers, personal light, an easily accessible and large locker was fantastic. Even the bathroom was clean and modern.

While the mattress pad was comfortable, the pad started sinking to the bottom after a several night stay. One elevator seemed out of commission and the one working was slow.

The front desk person, a Latin young woman named Marilyn, was excellent. Every time I saw her, she made my day. She was friendly, always happy, always trying to help and always tried to take a few minutes to listen and share things to assist me in what I needed. She is a great human being and a great asset to your establishment.

Once, I went to the front desk for a question. There were two young women chatting what seemed personal stuff, and one other next to them doing some work on the computer. I approached the chatting duo and they were quick to kind of rudely shove me over to the lone young woman on the computer. I didn't appreciate that they were neglecting the guests in kind of a rude way for personal gossip. The young woman at the computer was glad to help me but I couldn't notice that there was a feeling of a bully situation of opportunism going on by the dynamic gossip duo. I wanted to say something but I didn't want to ruin my day.

This is hands-down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! They got everything you need for a fantastic stay. The privacy curtains in the dorms are a game-changer! And the jacuzzis on the large terrasse are much appreciated…! The premises are very clean and modern. Staff is friendly and ready to help you. I was impressed by one of them speaking at least three languages! Note that the bar downstairs is cash only. There is an ATM available as well as many banks in the vicinity. The location in town is premium, only a few steps away from Berri metro station, the central bus terminal, two drugstores, a large grocery store and tons of restaurants, bars and clubs.

Well… The hostel is conveniently located downtown but the surroundings are sketchy. It’s sad to see the numerous people in precarious situations around.
