Everything was great, as expected from an Edition hotel. Rooms well equipped and very clean! Highlight of the hotel is the bar upstairs with an outstanding view to the Bund!! The bar is small so make sure you book in advance! The food they serve is western but good!

Had a small incident when checking in which did get resolved but worth commenting.... the room we were given looked nothing like the room I booked on Booking.com - we were given a corner room which a very strange layout and no sofa - therefore only place to sit in the room was the bed? As I saw it, I went back to reception and kindly asked them to change it (with help of a translator - cause not at all times they had English speaking staff in reception). Initially, the lady refused to do it claiming the hotel was full but eventually changed it to what we had actually booked - the new room was as expected and what I had seen in booking.com pictures!

Amazing breakfast. Amazing location. AMAZING rooftop view. Couldn't pick a better hotel.

Difficult to find staff that spoke any English. Even the minimum.

1. The location of the property is pretty good - it is near the train station and the bund. There are many shops nearby that sell snacks like 一本好酥. The pool is indoor and is heated. Clean gym with a bottle of water and towel on every machine. 2. The room is clean and spacious. The amenities used is from Le Labo. The housekeeper did a very good job and even ensured that our cables are not tangled and are tied neatly. S/he also displayed my facial products nicely. On top of that, the housekeeper threw away the rubbish during the turn-down service. The attention to detail is fabulous. 3. Kudos to the guest relations team, especially Benjamin, the chief concierge, who is extremely helpful and very effectively bilingual in Chinese and English. He gave so many good recommendations like 鸿姐hotpot and directions which were really helpful! Additionally, he even surprised my friend and me with a really nice chocolate cake that we could not help but finish even though we were full. Even on our last day, he ensured that we were well taken care of by notifying his colleagues, Maggie and Betty, to take care of us as it was his off day. The care and service I have experienced is exceptional and I would definitely stay here again!

I feel that the doormen could have more smiles on their faces. The rest of the service staff definitely exceed my expectations but unfortunately, the doormen could do with more training as after all, they are the first point of contact for the guests.

We had one of the most outstanding "HOSPITALITY" experiences of our lives during our 2 nights at the Shanghai EDITION Hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal, located on the main shopping street. Just a few steps to the Bund, which is an unparalleled experience, especially in the evening illumination. It has a special atmosphere. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a bathroom with both shower and bath. The view from the room's large windows is unrivalled. Yet, what was even more striking was the extraordinary helpfulness and attentiveness of the staff. Throughout our stay we felt important and they looked for ways to make our stay easy, comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend the bar on the 26th floor, the view is wonderful. The roof terrace is also special, but the cold winter weather during our stay did not allow us to enjoy it, but even at this time of year it should not be missed for a few panoramic photos.

The prices of the hotel and restaurant are in line with the very high standard of service.

All the staff were amazing from reception through to housekeeping we were made very welcome Karen Wang took care of us when we arrived and gave us some tips on transport , alipay etc

We knew it was a very busy time of year and that it may not be possible to book an early check-in. they did their best to get our room ready before 3pm, which was appreciated. However after a long travel time from London we were keen to chill out ASAP. They invited my wife and I to wait in the Club room until our room was ready. The Club room was very well appointed but unfortunately unstaffed. We did eventually get a coffee and some biscuits but it would have maybe been better for us to wait elsewhere in hotel where there was some staff around to order drinks / snacks from.

Unbelievably high level of service and personal attention. Great location on main shopping street and near to the metro line that reaches both airports. Lot's of food locations nearby. Superb views of the Bund from the upper floors. One of the best hotels I have stayed at in 30 years plus of traveling! Nice breakfast

Unfortunately the beds are really soft, which is not appealing for those visitors who prefer firm mattresses. Little bit too dark in the elevators so it was hard to see the room numbers on the buttons

We had wrongly clicked on booking for the room without breakfast and not with breakfast, and the price difference was only 1 euro per night. The hotel let us cancel for free and rebook so we'd have the breakfast included in our room rate. Karen, working at the check-in was very helpful and spoke great English (otherwise it would have been impossible). The atmosphere and odor in the hotel is very nice; the view from the rooftop and punch bar are great and the staff is incredible and speaks a very good level of English. We also got a free upgrade of room which was highly appreciated. The breakfast was extraordinary, the cold food is buffet and the warm food is a la carte - so warm and fresh. Just splendid with excellent fresh juice and very nice coffee. 100000% when in Shanghai will stay here again.

The pool table was tilted, hahaha but once you know it it brings an additional dimension to your game ;-) So actually - nothing at all; it was perfect!

Staff were friendly, surprised that they provide twice daily housekeeping. Never seen the cleaning staff around but somehow room also tidied when got back.

The lobby was very busy, many people passing through They provide canned waters instead of bottle water so may not be convenient if you want to bring them out. For a 5* hotel, a little upsetting they have so many labels telling you not to take their toiletries and bathrobe, as though you are going to steal them.

Love the gym. Drinking water and coconut water are provided. Clean and new equipment which are in excellent condition. The hotel provided Le Labo personal care products, which are specially concocted for The Edition Hotel. Feeling so pampered! The staff speaks excellent English!

The drinking water provided come in cans which might not be very environmentally friendly.

breakfast/restaurant is perfect with good staffs like the bar on the rooftop nice view from the bar

firstly, hard to find the hotel, especailly travel by car, have to take suitcases and walk to the hotel; 2nd, already advised the hotel the arrival time, but room was not ready yet (no early check-in requested) thirdly, i dont like the attitude of the staffs, called the room service as there was no slippers and short of other stuffs as well, then got chanllenged and questioned, just so embrassing and not professional. last but not least, room cleanness can be better, simply no cleaning before serving customers, quite a few dusts, just so close to the bed and areas where you sleep and breathe.
