Hotel is clean and breakfast is very good and complete. The room was comfortable and the location is super, since very close to the main road (Nanjing road) and the Bund Sightseing, not far from the Metro, just few minutes walking...

Good localization, very close to The Bund and East Nanjing Road, and 15 min walk to Old Town. The hotel offers free laundry service that was very helpful to us, traveling with a baby and a toddler.

Staff couldn’t speak any English, but they managed to make it work with a digital translator. Breakfast with not much “Western options”.

Large, clean, comfortable and modern room. Modern bathroom design but the toilet bowl flush pressure can be stronger. Breakfast buffet was superb with a lot of variety and some dishes were different everyday so you never get bored of it. There is a free laundry service 24/7. Love the smart room function and the robot can deliver meals to you..very refreshing and high tech! Staffs are very warm and attentive. Beverage are served when you are sitting at the lobby.

The balcony didn’t look like the picture… it’s not really a balcony. There are people smoking indoor at the lobby or in the room sometimes. We experienced a black out in the midnight due to smoke and heard the fire alarm rang twice for a long time… I could smell cigarette in my room on some nights…. but the staffs are very warm and friendly to address these issues. We were given a free gift after the black out incident.

The room was big, well renovated and clean with spacious shower. They had both Chinese and European sockets along with USB ports which was convenient. Complimentary beverages and biscuits on the first day was also a nice touch. The breakfast was amazing, plenty of choices both Asian and continental, with hot dishes varying every day and a egg/wonton/noodle station where they cook it for you on the spot. Free laundry service and very friendly staff. We got a room on the ground floor on day one due to availability but they kindly offered us to change to a higher one later on, which we declined because our room was perfectly fine. There is a convenience store down the street and plenty of good restaurants nearby. 3 minutes walk from the Bund. Loved the cute pink teddy in the lobby.

We found it a bit strange that the sink was not situated in a separate room but in the corridor as soon as you enter. The ground floor rooms don’t have a particularly good view and get limited sunlight. Breakfast can be quite busy and it was sometimes hard to find free tables. 10min walk is required to the closest metro station. But overall we would still come back as we had a really pleasant stay and no major inconveniences.

The treadmill in the gym is a cheaper model, and the belt appears to be slipping when used. There is only one treadmill.

Welcome note It was nice to receive a welcome note from the hotel before our travel and the brief instructions on how to get to the hotel was useful for us as it was our first time staying in Shanghai Atour. Location The hotel is not exactly close to the main Nanjing East Street but it is within walking distance. It was difficult to navigate initially as we took the side roads and alleys, and we realised we are not good woth mazes. Nevertheless, once we get our directions right, it is a breeze walking to and fro the hotel. On a separate yet related note, there is another Atour hotel nearer to the Nanjing East metro and we almost got misled by Baidu map when we searched "Atour hotel". Reception The receptionist was very welcoming and the check-in process was swift. We were able to speak mandarin so there was no language barrier but I reckon they would be able to converse in English as well.It took us by surprise when she brought us all the way to our hotel room and gave a walkabout on the room facilities. She even helped us with our luggage. Room We booked the Jimu Family room which is spacious for 3 adults with more than enough walking space. We were able to fully open our cabin-sized luggage. The shower facilities are adequate and water is strong which is important especially after a long day (+ night) walking around Shanghai. We stayed during March so the air con is "locked" which is pretty common for countries with seasons. However, we were not comfortable to leave the terrace door open for the cool air as the terrace is connected to other rooms. Perhaps the hotel can look at installing fences or metal grills between terraces as an additional security messure. The TV channels are limited as they are mainly local channels. However late we would like to stay walking around Shanghai, we would need to return to the hotel to catch some rest and having TV shows would be great.

If we have to pick one, it would be the aircon. We would prefer it not to be "locked" and leave it to guests to decide if there is a need to turn ir on, depending on the weather.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast food was good. Location was ok, can walk to bund and Nanjing walking street. Some restaurants were just round the corner. Room was spacious. It is within walking distance from Nanjing East Road Station Exit 7. Love the laundry service. Hotel is quite new and modern design.

Location - it is within walking distance from Nanjing East Metro Station Exit 7, but Exit 7 only has escalator going up, not going down! So, if you plan to go to airport by metro, it is better to go exit 2 which has escalator to go down. But walking to Exit 2 is quite far. Otherwise, choose an accommodation close to Exit2. Besides, the hotel wifi was horrible, half of the time not working. Situated at the back of the main street.

Excellent location 2 blocks from the Bund. Several coffee shops on the block was a bonus. The room is nice, clean, modern. We had a small balcony - no real view, but nice to have the outdoor space. Breakfast had several Western and local options, quite nice. Front desk person we had didn't do all that well with helping to organize transport to the airport, but we were able to do it ourselves with DiDi. They do have translator apps on their devices (as did we) so language not so much an issue. Other staff members were kind and helpful during our stay. Only downside was some people coming back to their room at nearly 2am and making a ton of noise in the hallway. Good choice hotel for the $ and location.
