The best place to stay in Quito! Mario and Blanca are great people, very kind and helpful. Very hospitable. We were staying four nights at this wonderful place. The rooms are very clean and authentic. Location on the best spot (old town).

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are fantastic. Mario and Blanca put so much effort into making us feel welcome and at home. You really can tell they care so much and wish for you to have the best stay possible. It made a huge difference. Our taxi dropped us off across Quito so Mario came to meet us and walked us back, carrying our bags. They both were very friendly faces that we could trust to help us and this was a lovely feeling being so far from home. The room was amazing, so clean and well equipped. The roof terrace was the icing on the cake and we loved spending time looking at the view while having a break from the busy city streets. There was nothing that we asked that Mario and Blanca didn't go above and beyond in providing, and we didn't ever want to leave. We know we have a home away from home next time we are in Quito and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Absolutely nothing.

Up front to other see it: We had to move our flight to the Galapagos up to midnight rather than 7am the next day with 1 day to spare (Quito airport was closing, long story). Mario and team SAVED us by letting us stay until 9pm in the room for a very reduced rate (they could easily have made us pay the whole night as we had originally booked) Also, all the other reviewers are 100% correct: Mario and his wife treat you like family (better even!). They arranged for the driver, who met us with a sign at the airport and drove us to town. They were there waiting to check us in late that night (around 10.30pm) and then arranged our breakfast and tour times to allow us to get enough sleep for the next day's excitement. Breakfast was lovely, in the courtyard. Fruit, coffee, bread, eggs as you ordered, etc. They helped arrange the tours in advance, which went off splendidly. The building is amazing-very relaxing. Great internet. Shower is a bit in the open so if that is an issue for you, it's something to consider. There is a lovely small museum 2 blocks up the street if you turn right as you leave Casa El Eden-free and highly recommended. Felt very safe. Great location. Met some lovely other guests as well. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience for my mother and me! Appreciated the bottled water in the room every day. They even heated up some leftovers we had from a fabulous dinner (at Zazu) so we had a snack before going to the airport at 9pm-when we were too tired to go out.
This is just a simple reality of these older homes-there is no elevator, so if stairs are an issue for your party, make sure to get a room on the 2nd floor (1 flight of stairs). However, don't worry, they handle the heavy bags.

A really exquisitely restored old Quito house - far more beautiful than the pictures do justice - right in the heart of the Old City, with huge rooms, comfy beds, and wonderful, super friendly and helpful hosts. Felt safe at all times. The owners made restaurant recommendations at our behest and both were superb. Bed was very comfortable and enormous. They even have a wine room with decent bottles sold with almost no mark up. Why would anyone choose to stay anywhere else in Quito!
Nothing. It is disappointing and needlessly risk averse for western tourists to stay away from Quito given the troubles have mainly been in very different areas to Quito,

Mario and Blanca are so warm and thoughtful. Truly kind people who love their city and hosting guests. As further accommodations, they are uniquely beautiful. The old mansion has incredible woodwork with touches Ns pieces which showcase the Owners sense of style. They arranged a taxis and English speaking guide for us. Ismael was top-notch. We enjoyed everything about our stay!! We almost canceled because of the civil unrest that is occurring in Ecuador. We are glad we did not, and we felt safe, even though there was a police presence and the Square was closed to the Public. The people, the city, and the food were fantastic!

Treat yourself to this bespoke 6-room, 3-storey luxury boutique hotel conveniently located in the heart of historic "old town" Quito, just steps away from Plaza Grande, the Basilica, restaurants and museums. This architecturally restored heritage house will leave you spellbound: artistically finished with so much detail, charm and character. Take some time to walk around and explore the building. The photos of the property don't do it justice. The healthy, sumptuous breakfast is not to be missed. Filtered water is available for your refillable bottle and a roof-top terrace yields southern views towards El Pancillo across the rooftops. Moreover, the personal hospitality provided by the hosts Mario, Blanca and Daniel is beyond compare. No request is too big for them to graciously undertake for you. Their warm welcome, assistance and advice are genuine without being intrusive. You'll truly feel "at home" here and treated like family. Should we be fortunate enough to return to Quito, this is undoubtedly where we'll stay again.
You're in the heart of "Centro Historico" Quito where the street noise from the dense, busy traffic may be bothersome (car horns, etc). If you're seeking peace and quiet (7am - 9pm) in one of the street-facing outer rooms, this may be an issue for you. This is nobody's fault and there's nothing that can be done about it. It's simply the nature of being located in the heart of the action. A possible remedy is to request an "interior" room when making your booking.

The property & rooms were very lovely, decorated beautifully, and the bed was so comfortable. Mario & Blanca were so attentive & helpful. The breakfast was so delicious with the fresh fruit, juice, eggs, coffee or tea, granola and breads. It was conveniently located in the heart of Quito historic old town. Mario was always able to assist us with reserving a taxi when we needed to go somewhere. Our entire stay was incredible. As a side note, the woodwork inside the house, the staircase, the decor through out was beautiful.
I can’t think of anything - it was a great stay.

Breakfast was outstanding! The breakfast was made fresh when we arrived downstairs and it always had granola, fresh tropical fruits, yogurt, fresh brewed coffee or tea, choice of eggs and some type of bread (croissants, rolls or toast), plus fresh juice. Mario and Blanca made us feel like family and were very attentive readily calling for taxis, recommending amazing restaurants (Somos was an outstanding restaurant), and giving us hints about safety around Quito. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and a little delicious chocolate with a fresh bottle of water awaited us each day. Beds were very comfortable with great pillows and linens. Fresh filtered water was available in the lobby during the day. We adore Mario and Blanca and staff and would stay there again in a heart beat.
Not one thing . . . except maybe that we had to leave!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Casa El Eden. The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, ensuring a very comfortable environment. Mario and Bianca, our hosts, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious, a perfect start to our day. Additionally, their flexibility with a late check-out was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended for a memorable stay!
While everything at Casa El Eden was to our liking, it's worth noting that the street outside can get a bit noisy due to traffic, but that's a small price to pay for being in the vibrant heart of Quito.

Our Casa El Eden was absolutely perfect! Mario and Blanca are the kindest and most wonderful hosts and the staff are lovely - it really felt like home! The hotel is beautiful and unique, the room was really comfortable and clean, breakfast was delicious and we were so well looked after! Definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in and we couldn't recommend staying here more highly :) Thank you so much to Mario and Blanca - we will be back!!
