It's absolutely beautiful! An historic site with gorgeous foliage, what's not to like?

We splurged for our honeymoon and would have liked a bit more attention to that detail. We made sure to include it in our notes, but instead of wishing us a happy honeymoon upon check-in, one of the staff members asked us how we were able to obtain an early check-in (I had requested it via email and then called to follow up). I also had to ask for kukui nut necklaces after noticing other guests receiving them upon their arrival. It's a beautiful space, there's no doubt about it, but we spent a lot of money for a special occasion and didn't feel like there was any attention to that detail, sadly.

The location can’t be beat. Direct access to Waikiki Beach. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice pool/beachside bar and restaurant. The hotel grounds were very beautiful.

Rooms were more dated than they appeared online. our ocean view room in the Tower had an immaculate view but the room itself wasn’t very new and up to date.

The location is excellent, right on the beach. The green space was soothing, especially in such a high profile part of Waikiki. The rooms in the old portion are charming, although it was delightful to have a balcony with the sound of the ocean.

The staff at the reception desk were incredibly slow (lines built up during every transaction) and simple requests could not be fulfilled like a map of the local area.

The service we received was excellent from everyone from the lady cleaning our room each day, to the attendants opening our doors as we arrived back at the hotel, to John our server at the restaurant and Zoe, our server at the Tiki Bar. My compliments to these and the remainder of your staff.

I consider myself a well traveled person. I've been all over the world, and stayed at many different hotels and resorts. Nothing compares to the Royal Hawaiian Resort. It is above and beyond any luxury hotel that I've stayed in. The history, location, accommodations and amenities are worth every penny. The service is so warm and personalized, that I wouldn't even call the people that work there staff members. They are family. This is our second year in a row staying at the Royal Hawaiian Resort, and we fully intend on keeping it as an annual tradition. My husband and I truly love this resort, and so do our four year old daughters. I'm excited to watch them enjoy our vacations here for many years to come. A big thank you to everyone who made our vacation amazing!

There was nothing that dissatisfied me. This place is wonderful!

The royal Hawaiian is beautiful. It's the 2nd oldest hotel and have a luxurious and classy feel, but when we visited the Moana Surfrider I liked it more. It has a lively vibe and facilities seem better. The pool is bigger than the Royal which has a very tiny pool. But the advantage is that you can use the Sheraton's 2 big pools instead. Big shout out for the staff though. They are very courteous and friendly and accommodated our request for early check out without a fee.

The pool is very tiny and the value for money I don't know. I didn't feel that it deserved what we paid. Saying that, we did book late and Waikiki is expensive in general. Plus having a direct access to the beach makes it more valuable I guess. Just beware that chairs and umbrellas on the beach are not complimentary and you have to hire through a third party for 100 USD a day for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella or per hour. There's a shop few steps away, next to Denny's cafe, you can hire them for a whole week per 100 USD. Also hire other beach equipment.

Best location in Waikiki Beach (you can walk right into the beach). The Royal Hawaiian provides a very luxurious experience in a beautiful historic building surrounded by all the entertainment you can imagine in Waikiki. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly; they truly cared about us and making sure that we were satisfied with our stay. Other perks are that the Mai Tai Bar has pretty good food, and you can use the shared pool and hot tub at the Sheraton next door.

Inevitably, the bathroom in the historic part of the hotel is a bit small and outdated but still very elegant and pleasant. Other than that, I cannot complain, we had a wonderful experience.

It is still the grand old lady of Waikiki. I like the building and the rooms, with their classic style. However, if you love ultra modern hotels you won't like it.

The restaurants have gone downhill. Rooms are great and staff is great, but the menu was barely better than pub food.

This is the most beautiful hotel in the area. The grounds and the low key upscale ambiance is wonderful.

I’ve vacationed in many historic and iconic hotels and this ranks right up there. Unfortunately, it’s considerably more expensive. It seemed like a reasonable price until all the fees were added. Better to stay elsewhere and visit the hotel.

Everything in the hotel was fantastic. I enjoyed the smell and the beauty of trees around the hotel. The hotel provides amazing services such as yoga, meditation, paddling... My partner and I took meditation outside of the hotel, which was fantastic. The most enjoyable part for me was its pink pancake. We had it every morning and bought ready-made pancake flours for ourselves and our friend who gave us a Hawaii trip for our honeymoon with a beautiful heart. The hotel is located in the center of the Waikiki area. I had great access to anywhere for food, shopping, and medical care.

When our friend tried to pay for our stay online, the Marriott policies made it impossible and the hotel booking staff was cold and unfriendly petty bureaucrats. The other places we stayed, like the Grand Hyatt in Kauai had no such problem.
